Stayed 6 nights

From Shikanoyu, it's a 5 minute walk to the cable car (called a Ropeway in Japan) that goes to the top of Mt Gozaisho. It's close to the Suzuka race course, and the flower garden Nabana no Sato. It's also within driving distance of Ise Jingu (1 hr 20 minutes), Kyoto (1 hr 30 minutes) and Hikone Castle (1 hr 25 minutes) The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food is what you would expect from a good ryokan in Japan...exquisite. My room was spacious and quiet, and the ofuro and rotemburo were again, just what you would expect from a ryokan. I stayed 6 days, and enjoyed every minute of it.

The hotel is extremely dirty, the rooms are not in a bad condition they were renovated, but the lobby and the hallways are horrible dirty, bad smells at every corner. The stuff was very mean and unfair, I travel with my 17 y old daughter and at this reservation I made some mistake and checked only one person, I offered to pay for her as well, but they treat me like I was trying to eat and stay

There was a great arrival welcome feature of free wine and beverages. My room had plenty of local welcome snacks plus beer, whiskey complimentary. Onsen was beautiful indoors and out. Keiko dinner had plenty of options and was both traditional and dynamic. Service was extremely gracious and after dinner dessert buffet in the lounge was really impressive.
