Vi hadde et utmerket opphold på hotellet. Strålende frokost. Fin balkong som hadde tålt noe bedre renhold. Ikke lang, men dog ganske bratt, vei til sentrum. Veldig fin utsikt. Relativt enkelt å finne gratis parkeringsplass til leiebil. Alt i alt et vellykket opphold.

Property itself was good. Breakfast was very good. My only complaint is the parking situation and the underground parking is terrible ( my opinion), very steep and narrow. Very dark, there were absolutely no lights underground. I’m a female who travelled solo, so this is very important to me. Otherwise it’s a great location.

Hotel obviously had expensive finishes installed when it was built. It has seen better days. Our reservation was "lost" and they put us in a room with a severely warped floor, a balcony door that wouldn't open, and a strong chemical cleaning smell. The kitchenette had a hotplate and no cutlery, pots, plates, or anything to use with it's limited appliances. There was no complimentary coffee or tea in the room. We asked to move rooms due to the chemicals giving us a headache. The staff was very reluctant and said it would be tough, but we walked through the hotel and saw many vacant rooms (room numbers lit up when occupied) that stayed empty during our stay. There was a bar that we were told was open but we tried to go and there was no staff to be found. Our second room was very warm and the AC didn't work to keep it cool. The shower wouldn't drain. The room was very large but empty of usable furniture. It just seemed like a ghost of a 5-star hotel, marble stone and beautiful but very cold and not functioning. Corners appeared to have been cut for many years making the place feel neglected and empty. Also, beware if you rent a car the parkade is a nightmare to get in or out of; there are scraped walls on the pillars of the tight turns to attest to this. With some care and attention and better customer service, this place could live up to it's 5-star rating and it's price. As it stands, I feel like we overpaid for a mediocre stay in a place with a very fancy lobby.

I stayed here for three nights without Internet and AC. The temperatures are 85 ! I talk with the manager, but they never fix the problem. We ask for towels to go to the pool and they say no towels when we arrive to the pool no people there too were the towels.

Very disappointed for the only five star hotel on the island. The services were horrible. The AC does not work when you go to ask them for anything it’s your fault they blame you. The people were very rude. They talk you out of parking in the parking garage. I am from the island born. There went back on vacation with my wife and was extremely disappointed with the services amenities and the condition of the hotel, when you first walk in through the common area is in the lobby. It is extremely beautiful with all doors wide open and this hot humid weather that they are experiencing all doors are open when you walk into your room with the AC running it is still very humid when it stops working and you go ask them to repair it. They come out and they repair it for a 12 hour fix and then repeat , very disappointed the island that are much better than this hotel will never stay here again. Ask to speak with the person in charge and they refuse to speak to you and their solution is Switch you to another room and ignore you poor customer service very unprofessional. I would rather this stay at a super eight then stay at this place.

Pros: good location, great views, above average included breakfast, functioning wifi Cons: aging infrastructure, particularly HVAC (air conditioning), inconvenient garage features will have you prefer to resort to limited street parking, Inconsistent staff, some attentive, others lacking problem resolution and basic customer service skills. Air conditioning broke on first night and was reported to concierge in the morning. We notified that we were about to leave for sight seeing for several hours and that it would be a great opportunity to have it fixed while we were absent. Apparently, despite this verbal interaction with the concierge, the "do not disturb" sign we had left on in the room was blamed for the reason why the technician could not go in the room to try to fix the reported broken AC, and since maintenance was already gone for the day, we would be sleeping in a hot room as result. Unacceptable. So we requested a new room, and were initially told they couldn't accomodate because hotel was full. I then noticed several keys set aside for yet to be checked in guests, and it was unfortunate that I had to remind staff that PRESENT guest have priority over NOT YET guests. Luckily, these customer service basics that I had to point out resonated with the staff member of the afternoon shift, and she proceeded to get management involved and got us another room. We appreciate her very much and hope management recognizes her for her excellence.

Grand hôtel qui a connu des jours meilleurs… Le buffet du petit déjeuner ne correspond pas du tout à ce qu’on peut attendre d’un 5 étoiles: œufs, jambon, fromage, pain… aucune variation et les pâtisseries étaient franchement immangeables. Le ménage des parties communes n’a pas été fait de la semaine: escaliers, piscine, etc. On nous a fourni une bouilloire sur demande, le coffre ne fonctionnait pas, la literie était acceptable mais les coussins remplis de boules et de vide, les serviettes de bains étaient déchirées à force de s’élimer et les produits de bains semblaient mélangés avec de l’eau. Chaque jour amenait un nouveau problème: lavabo bouché, fuite sous lavabo, climatisation soufflant du chaud, fuite de graisse suite à réparation de la clim… le spa était fermé, nous avons pu avoir un service de massage sur rdv avec une intervenante extérieure. La piscine était proche du délabrement, 19 degrés C. 2 étages de l’hôtel étaient fermés, ceux donnant sur la marina, par conséquent il fallait marcher environ 15 min pour rejoindre le centre ville, via une pente pavée à 70 degrés (handicapés ou blessés s’abstenir)! Le restaurant de l’hôtel était uniquement sur réservation. Enfin le personnel était éteint, pas désagréable mais ni motivé ni souriant. Au mieux, je donnerai un niveau 3 étoiles pour la prestation de service en dehors du design de l’hôtel, qui effectivement avait été pensé pour être de qualité bien supérieure.

L'annonce sur le site et les photos sont mensongers. L'hôtel est complètement vétuste, le mobilier dans nos 2 chambres inexistants, les serviettes de bains troués. Le personnel est en sous nombre, nous n'avons réussi à joindre personne pendant les 3 jours qui précédaient notre séjour. C'est la pire expérience que j'ai pu avoir.aucune compensation ni remboursement. Ne vous attendez pas non plus à avoir la climatisation qui fonctionne.

THIS IS NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL! When my husband and I arrived at the hotel the lobby was deserted. There was no doorman or bellman to greet and help with our luggage. The huge lobby with worn-out furniture was empty. There was no one at the front desk. Behind the front desk was a board that was taped up. Clearly, these were all uncharacteristic of a 5-star hotel. This is a one-star compared to the 5-star and 4-star hotels we stayed at on another Azores island, Sao Miguel. I thought the taxi dropped us off at the wrong hotel. A few minutes later, a lady came behind the front desk. She was not dressed in professional attire like what you normally see in nice hotels. To our disappointment, she confirmed that we were at the right hotel. Our room was not ready, and she asked us to bring our luggage ourselves to the storage room, which was dirty and smelly. My husband and I were disappointed with what we had seen so far and were quite nervous about the condition of our room. The room turned out quite spacious albeit sparse and dated furniture. We were at least relieved that it was clean and had no smell. However, many things malfunctioned - the A/C, toilet flush, coffee machine. We complained about the AC to the front desk. He was not surprised as he said it was a usual occurrence. He said the hotel was full and could not transfer us to another room. He promised to send a fan while he schedules a technician to come. Neither came. Thankfully, the temperature cooled down

Hotel obviously had expensive finishes installed when it was built. It has seen better days. Our reservation was "lost" and they put us in a room with a severely warped floor, a balcony door that wouldn't open, and a strong chemical cleaning smell. The kitchenette had a hotplate and no cutlery, pots, plates, or anything to use with it's limited appliances. There was no complimentary coffee or tea in the room. We asked to move rooms due to the chemicals giving us a headache. The staff was very reluctant and said it would be tough, but we walked through the hotel and saw many vacant rooms (room numbers lit up when occupied) that stayed empty during our stay. There was a bar that we were told was open but we tried to go and there was no staff to be found. Our second room was very warm and the AC didn't work to keep it cool. The shower wouldn't drain. The room was very large but empty of usable furniture. It just seemed like a ghost of a 5-star hotel, marble stone and beautiful but very cold and not functioning. Corners appeared to have been cut for many years making the place feel neglected and empty. Also, beware if you rent a car the parkade is a nightmare to get in or out of; there are scraped walls on the pillars of the tight turns to attest to this. With some care and attention and better customer service, this place could live up to it's 5-star rating and it's price. Angra Marina Hotel (Azores, Terceira) I stayed at this hotel in April 2025. Perfect location, close to everything. Nice ocean views from my room (a big balcony): a fortress, a port, mountains. Staffs were very helpful and accommodating. My room was clean and good value for the money. They offer a good breakfast!

Cet hôtel ne mérite pas ses 5 étoiles. Chambre malpropre, moisissure sur les rideaux de douches et bains, drains bloqués, chambre vide, insectes dans la chambre. La suite ne correspondait absolument pas aux photos. Nous avons trouvé des cheveux dans les draps.

Grand hôtel qui a connu des jours meilleurs… Le buffet du petit déjeuner ne correspond pas du tout à ce qu’on peut attendre d’un 5 étoiles: œufs, jambon, fromage, pain… aucune variation et les pâtisseries étaient franchement immangeables. Le ménage des parties communes n’a pas été fait de la semaine: escaliers, piscine, etc. On nous a fourni une bouilloire sur demande, le coffre ne fonctionnait pas, la literie était acceptable mais les coussins remplis de boules et de vide, les serviettes de bains étaient déchirées à force de s’élimer et les produits de bains semblaient mélangés avec de l’eau. Chaque jour amenait un nouveau problème: lavabo bouché, fuite sous lavabo, climatisation soufflant du chaud, fuite de graisse suite à réparation de la clim… le spa était fermé, nous avons pu avoir un service de massage sur rdv avec une intervenante extérieure. La piscine était proche du délabrement, 19 degrés C. 2 étages de l’hôtel étaient fermés, ceux donnant sur la marina, par conséquent il fallait marcher environ 15 min pour rejoindre le centre ville, via une pente pavée à 70 degrés (handicapés ou blessés s’abstenir)! Le restaurant de l’hôtel était uniquement sur réservation. Enfin le personnel était éteint, pas désagréable mais ni motivé ni souriant. Au mieux, je donnerai un niveau 3 étoiles pour la prestation de service en dehors du design de l’hôtel, qui effectivement avait été pensé pour être de qualité bien supérieure.

Loved this hotel and its proximity to restaurants and shopping as well as other attractions. The pillows were not the greatest and the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable. We had trouble controlling the air conditioning so our room was too cold

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut mit Blick auf die Marina. Das Zimmer ist geräumig und hat einen Balkon. Die Beleuchtung im Zimmer wird über eine Fernbedienung geschaltet, allerdings funktionierte dies nicht komplett. Die Meldung hierzu an die Rezeption wurde dort auch schriftlich dokumentiert, es hat sich aber - an beiden Tagen - nichts geändert. Mit viel Aufwand wurde dennoch im Schaltkasten eine Lösung gefunden, um wenigstens nachts im Badezimmer die Lampe auszuschalten. Selbst in einem 5* Hotel sollte es normalerweise möglich sein, auf Kundenhinweise nachhaltig zu reagieren. Offensichtlich hat das Management aber hieran kein Interesse und das insgesamt freundliche Personal machte einen unzufriedenen Eindruck in dieser Hinsicht. Das Frühstück ist sehr umfassend, aber sämtliche Speisen waren maximal lauwarm.

L'annonce sur le site et les photos sont mensongers. L'hôtel est complètement vétuste, le mobilier dans nos 2 chambres inexistants, les serviettes de bains troués. Le personnel est en sous nombre, nous n'avons réussi à joindre personne pendant les 3 jours qui précédaient notre séjour. C'est la pire expérience que j'ai pu avoir.aucune compensation ni remboursement. Ne vous attendez pas non plus à avoir la climatisation qui fonctionne.

I had a wonderful ocean view from my hotel room. The staff was very accommodating and the included breakfast had a lot of options. This hotel was located within walking distance to anything you could want: food, shopping, downtown stores. If I ever go back to the island, I would stay here again and I suggest you book here.

La chambre était très spacieuse, confortable et bien équipée. Cependant, elle était situé juste dessous le restaurant donc, beaucoup de bruit de chaises et de tables. Nous avons demandé à changer mais il n’y avait aucune disponibilité. De plus, un soir, nous avons mangé au restaurant où nous avons commandé un plat de tagliatelles au saumon et nous avons eu une salade avec 4 morceaux de saumon. Le second plat était du thon avec une sauce. On nous a servi un poisson qui n’était pas du thon et sans sauce. Et quand nous l’avons fait remarquer au serveur, celui-ci nous a répondu que tout était normal. Je dirais donc que la partie restauration était très décevante et très chère proportionnellement à ce qui nous a été servi

Pros: good location, great views, above average included breakfast, functioning wifi Cons: aging infrastructure, particularly HVAC (air conditioning), inconvenient garage features will have you prefer to resort to limited street parking, Inconsistent staff, some attentive, others lacking problem resolution and basic customer service skills. Air conditioning broke on first night and was reported to concierge in the morning. We notified that we were about to leave for sight seeing for several hours and that it would be a great opportunity to have it fixed while we were absent. Apparently, despite this verbal interaction with the concierge, the "do not disturb" sign we had left on in the room was blamed for the reason why the technician could not go in the room to try to fix the reported broken AC, and since maintenance was already gone for the day, we would be sleeping in a hot room as result. Unacceptable. So we requested a new room, and were initially told they couldn't accomodate because hotel was full. I then noticed several keys set aside for yet to be checked in guests, and it was unfortunate that I had to remind staff that PRESENT guest have priority over NOT YET guests. Luckily, these customer service basics that I had to point out resonated with the staff member of the afternoon shift, and she proceeded to get management involved and got us another room. We appreciate her very much and hope management recognizes her for her excellence.

Struttura con carenza di personale. Servizi supplementari in camera praticamente inesistenti. Una persona da sola al lounge bar a dover sostenere una infinità di comande con tempi di attesa biblici. Sistema di accensione delle luci in camera con telecomando poco pratico e assolutamente privo di senso. Impossibile cenare in hotel senza prenotazione (non viene data alcuna priorità agli ospiti).

I stayed here for three nights without Internet and AC. The temperatures are 85 ! I talk with the manager, but they never fix the problem. We ask for towels to go to the pool and they say no towels when we arrive to the pool no people there too were the towels.

Very disappointed for the only five star hotel on the island. The services were horrible. The AC does not work when you go to ask them for anything it’s your fault they blame you. The people were very rude. They talk you out of parking in the parking garage. I am from the island born. There went back on vacation with my wife and was extremely disappointed with the services amenities and the condition of the hotel, when you first walk in through the common area is in the lobby. It is extremely beautiful with all doors wide open and this hot humid weather that they are experiencing all doors are open when you walk into your room with the AC running it is still very humid when it stops working and you go ask them to repair it. They come out and they repair it for a 12 hour fix and then repeat , very disappointed the island that are much better than this hotel will never stay here again. Ask to speak with the person in charge and they refuse to speak to you and their solution is Switch you to another room and ignore you poor customer service very unprofessional. I would rather this stay at a super eight then stay at this place.

Luckily, these customer service basics that I had to point out resonated with the staff member of the afternoon shift, and she proceeded to get management involved and got us another room. We appreciate her very much and hope management recognizes her for her excellence.

Loved this hotel and its proximity to restaurants and shopping as well as other attractions. The pillows were not the greatest and the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable. We had trouble controlling the air conditioning so our room was too cold

Vi hadde et utmerket opphold på hotellet. Strålende frokost. Fin balkong som hadde tålt noe bedre renhold. Ikke lang, men dog ganske bratt, vei til sentrum. Veldig fin utsikt. Relativt enkelt å finne gratis parkeringsplass til leiebil. Alt i alt et vellykket opphold.

Property itself was good. Breakfast was very good. My only complaint is the parking situation and the underground parking is terrible ( my opinion), very steep and narrow. Very dark, there were absolutely no lights underground. I’m a female who travelled solo, so this is very important to me. Otherwise it’s a great location.

Die Meldung hierzu an die Rezeption wurde dort auch schriftlich dokumentiert, es hat sich aber - an beiden Tagen - nichts geändert. Mit viel Aufwand wurde dennoch im Schaltkasten eine Lösung gefunden, um wenigstens nachts im Badezimmer die Lampe auszuschalten. Selbst in einem 5* Hotel sollte es normalerweise möglich sein, auf Kundenhinweise nachhaltig zu reagieren. Offensichtlich hat das Management aber hieran kein Interesse und das insgesamt freundliche Personal machte einen unzufriedenen Eindruck in dieser Hinsicht. Das Frühstück ist sehr umfassend, aber sämtliche Speisen waren maximal lauwarm.

Struttura con carenza di personale. Servizi supplementari in camera praticamente inesistenti. Una persona da sola al lounge bar a dover sostenere una infinità di comande con tempi di attesa biblici. La chambre était très spacieuse, confortable et bien équipée. Cependant, elle était situé juste dessous le restaurant donc, beaucoup de bruit de chaises et de tables. Nous avons demandé à changer mais il n’y avait aucune disponibilité. De plus, un soir, nous avons mangé au restaurant où nous avons commandé un plat de tagliatelles au saumon et nous avons eu une salade avec 4 morceaux de saumon. Le second plat était du thon avec une sauce. On nous a servi un poisson qui n’était pas du thon et sans sauce. Et quand nous l’avons fait remarquer au serveur, celui-ci nous a répondu que tout était normal. Je dirais donc que la partie restauration était très décevante et très chère proportionnellement à ce qui nous a été servi

Grand hôtel qui a connu des jours meilleurs… Le buffet du petit déjeuner ne correspond pas du tout à ce qu’on peut attendre d’un 5 étoiles: œufs, jambon, fromage, pain… aucune variation et les pâtisseries étaient franchement immangeables. Le ménage des parties communes n’a pas été fait de la semaine: escaliers, piscine, etc. On nous a fourni une bouilloire sur demande, le coffre ne fonctionnait pas, la literie était acceptable mais les coussins remplis de boules et de vide, les serviettes de bains étaient déchirées à force de s’élimer et les produits de bains semblaient mélangés avec de l’eau. Chaque jour amenait un nouveau problème: lavabo bouché, fuite sous lavabo, climatisation soufflant du chaud, fuite de graisse suite à réparation de la clim… le spa était fermé, nous avons pu avoir un service de massage sur rdv avec une intervenante extérieure. La piscine était proche du délabrement, 19 degrés C. 2 étages de l’hôtel étaient fermés, ceux donnant sur la marina, par conséquent il fallait marcher environ 15 min pour rejoindre le centre ville, via une pente pavée à 70 degrés (handicapés ou blessés s’abstenir)! Le restaurant de l’hôtel était uniquement sur réservation. Enfin le personnel était éteint, pas désagréable mais ni motivé ni souriant. Au mieux, je donnerai un niveau 3 étoiles pour la prestation de service en dehors du design de l’hôtel, qui effectivement avait été pensé pour être de qualité bien supérieure.

Demos conta à funcionária da recepção, que nos disse que iriam tratar do assunto de imediato. Surpreendentemente, quando voltamos ao fim da tarde, o barulho continuava e a barata morta continuava no sitio, apesar do quarto ter sido arrumado. Fui à recepção e transmiti isso ao funcionário, que ficou surpreendido, dizendo que nada lhe tinha sido transmitido pela colega, mas que iria tratar do assunto de imediato, pedi para falar com a gerencia, mas àquela hora já não estava. Quando voltamos à noite, estava resolvido (barata e barulhos removidos) e um espumante de oferta. Na manhã seguinte, deparámo-nos com cabelos numa talha de banho lavada e quando chegamos às 18h30, o quarto ainda não tinha sido arrumado/limpo (o aviso para limpar estar ligado desde manhã cedo). Entretanto entrou uma funcionaria, perguntando o que queríamos que arrumasse. Reclamei na Recepção da toalha e da atitude da empregada de limpeza (que apenas trocou toalhas e fez a cama, a gerencia não estava (era fim-de-semana)... Sem estes problemas a estadia/avaliação teria sido 5*.

WOST EXPERIENCE EVER On my second day, I greeted the maintenance lady and made sure the sign was up for room cleaning service, left the room (and double checked that the door was well closed) and was out for the day. When I came back, my backpack that I’ve put in a strategical position was open and on the floor, my passport out of the front pocket and my money out of my passport case (a bit over 200€ cash). My clothes were initially in packing cubes in my suitcase. When I came back, some clothes that I haven’t pulled out nor worn yet and were completely at the bottom of my suitcase were either out of it or on top of my clothes pile! I warned the hotel manager about it and he automatically blamed me for not putting my stuff in the locked safe!!! I even referred him to the European Tourism Law, art. 1039 a) of the civil code but nothing. I needed that money for the rest of my trip, especially for taxis since most of them don’t accept Apple Pay. Uber isn’t supported on Terceira island, Bolt drivers were all busy and I could only book an airport shuttle reservation for the next day. The manager didn’t want to compensate me or anything. I asked an employee at the lobby if he could order me a taxi that would accept Apple Pay and he accepted. Quick phone call and he confirms that a taxi will pick me up shortly. I asked him if he told the driver that I could only pay with Apple Pay to which he said yes but when the taxi arrived, he said that he didn’t accept tap credit card.
