Very run down. Pool kept closing. Super slow internet. Had to just use data. Stucco peeling off outside wall. Inside wallpaper peeling. It was a run down motel not a hotel. Had to switch rooms day 1 because after I unpacked my first room just had no internet at all. Room was a 3 level walk up. No elevator. Rooms not even connected to main lobby.

Suggestion: remove carpets, paint outside of building to give it updated look, has potential to be a hotel upgrading to next level. Beautiful courtyard, great pool/hot tub/sauna/exercise room. Will stay here again next time in Barrie.

Run down, broken stuff everywhere outside main entrance car port was falling apart pieces look like they were going to fall off top part, fallen trees, smashed picnic tables and basket ball nets laying around, pot holes in driveway. Door to outside don’t lock at night. Anyone could walk into the hotel from back door. Lamp posts knocked down, outside pool was empty with a table upside down in it. Smelt bad and stains on carpet in room floor, and hallways. Also bottom of top was painted for some reason with whit paint. Took pictures if you want. In very bad disrepair

Acceptable, I'd give it 6 out of ten. When you arrive and you enter the lobby, you actually think that this hotel is great. Then you have the first turnoff, they only had one person at the reception and I had to wait 15 minutes to check in. The lady was kind enough but she took $50 "deposit fee" after I had already paid for my booking (I don't like that...). I had to drive again to get to my room, but parking was easy. When we get into the hallway you start seeing that the look of the lobby is a smoke screen and the place is not as nice and clean and reeks like smoke. When I got into the room there was a foul smell of smoke, the carpet was disgusting! The fridge was unplugged, there were some questionable stains on the sheets but the bed and pillow were comfy. The shower was hard to adjust between hot and cold water. The positive was a nice balcony, that you can open and get some fresh air. My son and I had a hard time breathing because of the smell of smoke and overall dust mites on the carpet and draperies. The carpet needs to be replaced with some vinyl or laminate flooring asap. I paid almost $200 for one night and I expected a little more cleanliness and room functionality especially with the shower.

Checked in to the Allure Barrie. The room was on the ground floor in the back. The room was extremely smelly, very bad stench of mold and garbage!! It’s really disgusting! I’m so disappointed in this place! It’s a -10 out of 10. The pictures on Expedia are a lie! It’s not like that at all. It’s old and grimy! Very disappointing

The bathroom tub in room 224 needs an upgrade. It had mold and stains on the bottom of the tub. Wallpaper was coming off in big sections. The outside west side of the building had big panels coming off. Will not stay here again.

We had a non smoker pet room. It was great to have a patio door but the handle to the patio door was broken, curtains and carpet stained, room smelled like a smokers room. It was for a one night rest so I didn’t want to bring it up to front desk but I won’t be coming back.

Very unclean inside and outside the room. Corridors filthy and trash on floor. Walls dirty and need decorating. In the room, the bathroom was dated, thing's loose, bathtub filthy. I actually felt cleaner before the shower

Mattress was extremely worn in — sunken in the middle — was horrible on my back. Tv was old so could not cast from my own device. No water in the room — vending machines and limited selection available. Smell of cigarettes in hallways. Everyone was nice and everything seemed clean.

The hotel is easy to get. We had multiple issues. The toilet rocked and if you were leaning it had a smell. We had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs, the room was very small and cost the same as the Hilton (amazing) in the same city. There was a hockey tournament and the parents kept meeting in the hallway. they kept us up and woke us up at 5:00, the front desk told us that they told the parents the rules. Never stopped them. We will never stay there again.

The bed was horribly caving in at the middle. The pillows were way too soft. There wasn't a fan in the bathroom, and there wasn't any body wash. There were paper cups for the coffee. This was our wedding night- I tried to call ahead to see if something "special" could be done- but I left a message and no one got back to me.

The room was great but there was a hockey team of kids and adults who were very noisy. The adults let the kids run crazy knocking on peoples doors til 2 am and running the halls. Staff also did nothing about it. Because it started at 11 and we complained and nothing was done

The employee at the front desk was helpful in relocating us to "their last king room" (which is what we booked) after putting us in a queen room. She was also helpful in printing some documents for me since the printer in the 'business centre' didn't work. I was disappointed that a 'hotel and conference centre' didn't have better business services and wifi that kept cutting out. Wifi was also very slow - it took about 20 minutes for my emails to get to her. The restaurant was great - large portions for breakfast, reasonably priced and a fantastic server. Everything seemed clean, the room was fine - nothing spectacular but fine. Super strange, unpleasant smell in the elevator. We were only there for one night and it was fine but we probably won't go back. The place was way better when it was the Holiday Inn.

If you book online, there should be clear instructions regarding additional deposits. I booked a room online, tried to call the hotel to report I wouldn’t be able to check in until late, but there wasn’t an option to leave a message and no one answered the phone for 20 minutes. When I checked in at 2 am, they told me I needed an additional $200, then changed to $300 deposit. I didn’t have my credit card on purpose, as no one mentioned I needed a deposit and they REFUSED me accommodations and of course, no refund on the original booking. If your policy is to have a deposit paid, this needs to be clearly stated once you book. No one should be refused who has booked online. This policy is terrible and so is your business model. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

We stayed hear with our cheer team. The pool was "broken down" and we were not notified at check in. When we went to go to the pool, we were told it was down. No compensation for the inconvenience. Then we had our team in the hall making crafts etc. And were told by security that needed to move and no other space would be available for them to hang out in at 7pm. My son who is 5 was told he could play mini sticks in the hall with his foan puck as it could damage their walls. It is not a family hotel and charge too much per night for no pool or space for groups. On top of all this the staff were rude and yelled at all of the children who are 7 and under. Will never stay there again.

I booked this stay as part of a wedding group, called the 1877 number to confirm i was part of the wedding group pricing and only found out when i got to the hotel after talking to my family tbat i was charged more for my room ( not the wedding discount) additionally did not get the complimentary breakfast that i was suppose to get. The staff were rude when i brought it to their attention so they could at least fix the breakfast issue. I would'nt stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and it was lovely. They would wave the security deposit as we were repeat guess with no previous history of damage. The night check in clerk was less then hospitable. He stated that there would be a security hold for 2 days on my card, which was fine but was then told by the morning clerk that it could be 5 days! We also requested a ground floor room and he put us up on second floor The room was next to another guest who was smoking weed most of the night. Which was not pleasant as we dont indulge in that past time. The room had a big stain on the carpet and the bath tub had some sort of damage done to the finish that made it look and feel dirty. Shower head was not working properly and neither was the drain stopper. Over all the room/hotel needed up dating and repair, not something you would expect for the price we paid for one night during the week! In previous years its has been a busy hotel, especially this week being black friday week. Not this time and one has to wonder why! We do not have to wonder we now know why. Unfortunately we will be looking for a new hotel to stay at for our next trip to the area! The only good thing was the morning desk clerk was very nice sorry I did not get her name.

This was my second time staying at allure and just like the last visit. It was wonderful. The staff was super friendly and helpful, I enjoyed breakfast one morning. It was fantastic. It was a very convenient location to get to a quiet and private a really enjoyed my day. Will be back again.

The room itself and staff were fine. We knew breakfast was an additional charge at this particular hotel, but I was not expecting breakfast to be $24 for me and $12 for my son. If it was $10 and $7...maybe for a good breakfast buffet, but not over $20. Too expensive. We went to McDonald's for Breakfast instead.

Check in was quick and simple friendly staff ,room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately parking was a bit of a problem when I returned around 11pm maybe due to the snow but had to park the other end of hotel with a long walk to my room,restaurant hours not very good open late close early like 10pm so don’t expect a late night meal or drinks.

Our stay was great, room clean beds very comfortable. Quiet, visited pool and hot tub nice and clean. It was a Sunday so restaurant was closed unfortunately. Was able to walk to nearby restaurant. Will stay again when in area!

The server that was working that evening was abrupt and rude when we entered the dining room close to 9:00 p.m. We were going for a drink and she was quick to let us know that with the kitchen closing that there would not be any drinking, as she was serving food to some guests....
