My room was great however the accessible room my parents were in did not have proper lighting in the bathroom making it unsafe for showering. We did let staff know . Ice machine did not work on 3rd floor either. The staff were lovely though and I had a great stay!

Check in was as breeze; staff very friendly. Room was clean, smelled fresh, hot water and great water pressure in the shower. Pool was warm, but the flickering lights were a bit annoying. And my kids were scared of the elevator which was never level with the floor until after the doors opened, and made lots of jerking motions. We would stay here again though, great value.

Exterior/patio area very unkept and dirty. Interior was very dated but clean. Hit breakfast only available Thursday- Sunday NOT CLEAR IN ADVERTISEMENT - Fitness Center equipment broken and unusable - only cardio equipment and dumbbells up to 25lbs - Very close to highway 400 and you hear the noise of a highway all the time, not subtle noise.

Found a cockroach in my room. Have pictures and video proof. Had to leave the hotel at 2am as they had no alternative and told me the only option was to sleep in the room with a cockroach. Big health and safety issue

The bedroom was not cleaned. There were crumbs on the floor and hair between the sheets in the beds. The sheets and pillows were also wrinkly. They just made the bed changed the towels and called it good. They advertise an “enhanced continental breakfast” it’s just boiled eggs and bagels. It’s not a commercial toaster so you will wait in line. Would not stay here again. For the same price you can get a clean room at least.

The staff were very welcoming, quick to acknowledge when I first arrived. They gave me all the information I might need - breakfast protocol, wifi, parking etc. The room was clean, carpet free and spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

As soon as i entered the room it smelled like a rotten room that hasn’t been touched for a while, there was stains everywhere on the bed sheets on the towels and i didn’t even bother asking to get them replaced as i had everything with me because i seen the reviews so i wanted to be on the safe side. Other than cleanliness everything else was fine and acceptable

I had a work event in Barrie and needed to stay for a couple of nights. I selected the Monte Carlo Inn because of the renovated rooms that looked upscale and had Jacuzzi options. I selected the last option for the King Size Junior Suite. Overall the room was nice with the king size bed with a giant big Jacuzzi tub in the middle of the room - that was definitely the highlight of my stay. The only two issues that bothered me was that the plumbing could use a bit of work given that every time you would turn on the bathroom faucet it would leak with water dripping all over the vanity. The most annoying part of my stay was the fact that the hotel is situated literally right next to Highway 400 and my room was facing it! I couldn’t sleep at all the first night given all I could hear were cars and tractor trailers flying all night and it was incredibly loud. I had to eventually grab my AirPods at 4am and turn on noise cancellation so I could at least get a couple hours of sleep before I had to wake up for my event. For light sleepers like me keep this is mind because it’s definitely a problem having a room facing the highway.

This hotel isn’t bad for the price — we might stay here again — but it’s definitely not the kind of place you’d miss or feel eager to return to at any cost. The elevator really needs renovation; it shakes and doesn’t feel very safe, plus the stained floor mat gives a poor impression. The room itself was a good size with comfortable beds, but there was no climate control panel (really? In the 21st century?). The bathroom setup was inconvenient — turning on the light automatically activates a very loud, outdated fan, and if you turn it off, it’s completely dark. Housekeeping was also disappointing. We stayed for two nights, and although they replaced the towels, they didn’t clean the room or even make the beds. When I asked the front desk whether we needed to request cleaning, they said it would be done automatically — but it wasn’t. I’ve never experienced that before! Even for a 3-star hotel, it doesn’t have to feel like one at every turn. Breakfast was very simple and minimal. We paid $8 for eggs and bacon, but the portions were tiny, and the service in the breakfast room also matched that “3-star” vibe.

We have stayed here many times and noticed a lovely and updated room. It was clean, as usual and we had a pleasant stay. I like how they have recycle bins right in the room. It would be nice to have cream and a better coffee machine in the room and two decaf and two regular coffee pods vs. one each. We were emailed about their 'improved' breakfast - but at $8 p/p, we stuck with their normal (kind of boring) breakfast. We were here on a Friday night when a hockey team(s?) were present so it made finding a seat for breakfast REALLY difficult and VERY loud. All the same - we'd stay here again as their service is nice and friendly.

Stayed in the Sunrise Suite. Maybe the name should’ve tipped me off but there is this big circular window with only a sheer decorative curtain on it. Not only was the curtain in questionable shape help up by Velcro strips, but there is no black-out blind. Be prepared to get up when the sun rises whether you like it or not (hence the name, I guess). I offered to pay for an upgrade to a room with blackout blinds but was told the hotel was sold out. For a renovated room, the furniture was beat to hell - nicks and scratches everywhere. And the room had a very funky odor. I also learned that if you miss housekeeping in the am, you’re out of luck until the next day. Most hotels I’ve stayed at, if you miss the 9 or 10 am cleaning because you’re still in the room, they come back later in the day. Not so here. This was my third (and worst) stay at the Monte Carlo and not sure I’ll be returning after this visit - will likely try something else next time.

This is a very nice hotel with two exceptions. The walls are paper thin, so I could clearly hear conversations in the next room. And, the free breakfast is very, very limited as they want to push you toward the $8 upgrade. Not sure I would stay there again due to the thin walls, which is a shame because otherwise it was a nice stay.

Great size for a suite, jacuzzi in the room is a must and the king size bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the room was not very clean, lots of hair in the bed and in the bathroom. The worst part was that the shower drain was clogged, so the bathtub was filling up. Not great to take a shower with our feet in 10-12" of water. TV is way too small and way too far from the bed. Soundproofing isn't great, hearing everything in the hallways and the highway close by. You can tell that this hotel use to be a great option... 20-25 years ago. The elevator gave me goosebumps, it feels like its gonna drop at any given moment. The breakfast is far too limited, even for a continental option, with only plain cereal, a few bakeries and yogurt. Overall, decent place, but the jacuzzi sweet was not worth the 800$ for 3 nights. Will try a different hotel on my next stay in Barrie

Our room was great. The only issue was the toilet that took really long to fill. The staff in the restaurant needs to be better trained. The server we had (we ordered breakfast) didn't seem to know what or where ketchup was, she brought us an empty bottle of Siracha. We went to the front desk (They were awesome and welcoming!), they were able to get the ketchup for us. We have stayed at this hotel, many times, this is the only time we had any kind of issue at the restaurant.

We stayed in a room that was very nice, but unfortunately, the staircase door was slamming all night long and it was across from our room and woke us up several times during the night. When I complained to the manager the next day, she was very ignorant, and very rudely stated that they’ve never had complaints before I explained to her well maybe the door stopper broke recently and that maybe she should check it out. Her response while she’s in a meeting and too busy. Now, how ignorant is that!!!!!! If you’re looking for a sleepless night with management that has less than average intelligence. I highly recommend this hotel

We were happy with th easy accessibility of this location, its closeness to amenities and it's room. All was good that way. Unfortunately they are working on the highway and roads right there also. The noise of the heavy traffic on the 400hwy is unbelievable day and night. It made it almost impossible to sleep.

There were long black hairs in the sink and the tub. The towels were stained. Breakfast was to start at 7:00 am but when we arrived at 7:39 most of the items had yet to be out. The muffins were stale & hard and we had to go through a number of yogurt containers to find some that were not stale dated. The restaurant employee was totally unconcerned. Never going to use this hotel again.

Also, when advertising Continental Breakfast included then should have something decent, this was terrible, basically just bagels, spreads, juice and coffee when other competitors offer eggs, bacon etc. disappointed all over.

Hairs in the bathroom sink, stain on the comforter, coffee maker needed to be cleaned and sheets are very starchy. TV advertised about their restaurant and room service. Sign out in the hall says Bar and Grill…..there is no restaurant. Just a small dining area where the continental breakfast is served. One poor girl working the entire area. Tables were full of dirty dishes and patrons were piling them all up on a table to make room to eat. Bare minimum of a breakfast that had to be eaten in the dining room. Wouldn’t have been an issue if it wasn’t so crowded and messy. Very messy.

The bathroom wasnt cleaned very well, bathtub was very scummy. Staff were wonderful except the lady in the dinning hall in the morning. She was very rude and abrupt. I understand you needed a ticket for the breakfast but she could have adressed it differently. A simple, did you happen to get your meal ticket.? instead of yelling "I need your voucher before you just grab the coffee !!" Let me tell you I didn't stay to eat the breakfast
