We've stayed several times, and this was the first time in the off season. Unfortunately the swim up bar was closed, as well as two pools, but they plan to have them open soon. The beds are hard, but ask for a matress topper!! They are happy to oblige! Overall, still love the place!

The pool was filthy with green water. Pool bar was closed for the season… The faucets were crusty in sink & shower; 50% of the time, we couldn’t get hot water. The birds in the dining room were nasty! The views were beautiful, the waitstaff was perfect!

Staff and wait staff were wonderful. Our room, we experienced the water leak from the roof above through the light in the shower , the bottom of the toilet leaked water, we were without water a period of about 12 hours at one point. The main pool was closed for repairs, the dining room was closed. Destination representative located in the visitor office off of the lobby was very difficult to deal wit, our shared shuttle required we were 4 hours early to airport. deal with.

Access to beach for snorkling was easy and amazing. Staff around pool and dining area were awesome. Hotel is very old and somewhat run down. Swim up bar was permanently closed. Air conditioner was lacking in room (did not get very cool). Food was so-so. Front desk was friendly but very slow

The hole week the pool was green and couldn't swim. They served the same food all week only three main dishes on menu. No entertainment at all during the day or night. and the swim up bar was never opened. The staff was very nice and polite.

My wife received food poisoning the first night we were there. She was very cautious about eating anything there. There was noises coming from the room and had to move all of our stuff from one side of the hotel to the other WHILE my wife had food food poisoining. Alot of rock made entry into and out of the water sometimes a big hassle. The hot tubs do not work. Food is ok. I wouldnt reccommend.

The staff were amazing. The hotel room was average. The shower was below par with only getting tepid water and no hot water. The internet pics showed many restaurants and bars, and there turned out to be two restaurants, one bar. One pool was being refurbished, no swim-up bar as advertised, one restaurant you HAD to make a reservation even though we were one of two tables in the place on two different nights. Food at both restaurants was average at best.
The staff were amazing. The hotel room was average. The shower was below par with only getting tepid water and no hot water. The staff is wonderful, but we didn’t have hot water to shower, no lunch or dinner buffet. No bingo, no swim up bar, no kid buffet. It was a slow week but we were expecting what was advertised. But I would stay there again and we have stayed several times . The snorkeling is great there. And the staff remembers you. I love the place.

Well let’s start from the very begging. We booked the room from Expedia. We were sent an email to have pre check in but it didn’t work out because we didn’t have a code. I was texting to the hotel to get one but nobody replied me. Ok. We got the hotel. It took 45 min to check in. How is this possible??? It’s a very simple procedure to check in, but it took 45 min. Very disappointing. The room was nice and big but the sofa was super old with spots on it that you even don’t feel like sitting over there. The food was good at buffet restaurant. Variety of food: meat, chicken, fish, rice, pasta. Italian restaurant was good but it 50 min to wait for the order for 2 people. How is this possible??? The biggest frustrating point was no kayaks or pan les on the beach as it is announced on booking. The hotel said it is not available because all of these was on maintenance!!!! All the boards and kayaks???? We didn’t mind to pay extra for it but it is simply was not available!!!! Super bad! There is no animation or any evening program. After dinner, go to sleep. Overall I am not sure that I will come back again or recommend to my friends. There are so many things to improve and definitely doesn’t cost 180 USD per night. I am so sorry for telling you this, but it should be a better experience for this money.

The hotel is very old and the rooms have not been updated, but that is ok. The first morning I woke up to a dead cockroach at my head and the bath room had ants the entire time. We took the cockroach to the front desk and asked them to exterminate our room, but after that we still had the ants and the rooms had about an inch open gape at the bottom of the door. Our shower looked like someone had spit food all over in the top area and it was that way the entire time. The staff was very friendly except for the old bartenders at the pool bar; their drinks were terrible and they were grumpy. When the younger guys got to fill in, their drinks were very good and they were fabulous! We have stayed here 3-4 times and will not be back.

Friendly guests. Uncomfortable bed. Elevator didn’t work the entire time. Not always easy getting food. Birds kept getting into dining and eating the food. Shower didn’t drain.

The rooms are old, moldy smelling. The hotel is rundown. The area is nice, the food is good, but the room really put a damper on our trip for the Ironman event. We also had problems with the billing. We were charged for the rooms when we checked in and we were charged again for the rooms when we checked out. We were running late for our flight with the hassle at the desk and paid the fees. I will be contacting you.

It was a horrible experience. No AC in restaurants, filthy pool, cockroaches, no phones in the rooms, tv does not work, no hot water, bad food, restaurant would run out of food…just awful place except staff. Owner should be embarrassed to even have this place open…

This resort is very dated, the furniture and fixings were old. BUT, it was super clean. The rooms didn’t even have any dust. The staff were always cleaning and taking care of things. The food was mediocre at best and even dinner in the restaurant wasn’t very good. The buffet was a little wild at times between the birds flying in and out despite the netting. But again, the staff kept everything really clean. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the water was hot and the ac cold. The views from the room were all of the ocean.

I like the old fashion Mexican style design of the Resort, & this place was perfect. Loved the private beach area & the beautiful sunsets. The rooms are nice & roomy but the mattress in room 1507 really needs to be replaced, felt like sleeping on a box spring.

If you don’t expect much you will be fine. They do not put refrigerators in the rooms. You can not order room service unless you go to the front desk. The room temperatures are between 24-26. Our room stayed at 26. We tried to switch rooms the front desk said they would ask management. We tried for three days and gave up. The staff was very friendly!

The water pressure and availability of hot water were issues every day. That was probably my biggest issue with the facility. The accommodations are a bit dated, and need to be remodeled. But the staff is super friendly and the beach is really nice.

Coz is what it is for the $. There is a good reason it's the cheapest AI. The sanitary conditions at the buffet are atrocious. There are birds everywhere literally sitting in the food and eating it. Pointed it out to the staff and they laughed it off. It wasn't until getting loud about conditions that they reacted. (The birds were back at it in 30 seconds) This is all in the "inside" seating area. The outside restaurant seating is much worse! We sat outside for a few minutes until retreating to the "inside" area. My Wife literally turned around in her chair and in a split second seagulls ate her food! Every time we return they have cut back more. The staff are great and they try hard. Not their fault that there are no resources for improvement. We always eat elsewhere for dinner bc again the buffet is awful! If you just want unlimited drinks and a place to stay it works for that. They claim renovations are underway but the place looks exactly the same as it did 2 years ago. The rooms are old and the mattresses are like sleeping on the floor, rock hard. They have always reeked like insecticide, better than having bugs, I guess.

We sat outside for a few minutes until retreating to the "inside" area. My Wife literally turned around in her chair and in a split second seagulls ate her food! Every time we return they have cut back more. The staff are great and they try hard. Not their fault that there are no resources for improvement. We always eat elsewhere for dinner bc again the buffet is awful! If you just want unlimited drinks and a place to stay it works for that. They claim renovations are underway but the place looks exactly the same as it did 2 years ago. The rooms are old and the mattresses are like sleeping on the floor, rock hard. They have always reeked like insecticide, better than having bugs, I guess.

This flamingo coloured hotel building is truly stunning. The reception areas , dining and beach are really fantastic . The crystal clear water and beach is clean and we swam with different coloured fishes. It is a short taxi ride to the ferry and shopping areas. The food was nice and varied. The staff especially Martha and Julio were so friendly and kind to us all through the stay . Unfortunately the downside is that the rooms are quite old and dated. The water pressure is mixed , the air conditioning leaves the room , clothes and bedding damp and wet to the touch. The manager tried everything to fix this for us but unfortunately there was no solution. We stayed three nights and it was all lovely while at the beach or hotel areas . Going back to the room was a bit daunting - we would have stayed longer if the room was nicer . The gym facilities are also very basic. It is a lovely welcoming hotel and once the rooms are modernised in the future we would definitely stay there again . Thank you Martha and Julio 🙏

The ocean view was the best part about the property. Unfortunately, it is extremely outdated and a lot of things need to be fixed. Upgrades are needed with the rooms. New beds, more outlets, add refrigerators and microwaves to heat and store food. The AC in our unit was horrible. Every night we slept it was hot and the room has moisture.

Resort has a good location, away from the busy parts of Cozumel. The beach is good with loungers and umbrellas, Drinks were ok for an all inclusive, Never ate at the buffet but ate at restaurant a couple times it was ok. The resort was a good deal for the price and I would probably stay there again. Rooms were clean and spacious, nothing fancy but worth what I paid.

The staff were amazing and the food was amazing. Best overall trip to Cozumel weve had. We had 11 in are group and we had an amazing time. Will be returning to this resort yearly.

Most of the staff was extremely supportive and nice. The waiters at the restaurant/beach, Aldo, Emilio, Manuel, among others whose name I cannnot remember where the highlight of my stay. One of the managers, Gloria was very rude, telling me on a few occasions that I was not allowed to bring food to my room from the restaurant, when the other employees, including the “captain” at the main restaurant physically handed us a to go plate to take back to our room after dinner. Gloria always had an attitude and was very rude when asking questions. Saying she was going to report the incident that we were taking food back to our room. There were a couple of issues with the property. There were a lot of ants in our room, to the point where they got on the bed. The water pressure on the bathroom was very poor, the AC did not work properly, there were cracks on every surface, the cleaning crew were not leaving towels in our room every time they came to clean. The beach was okay. There was a lot of dirt everywhere, which honestly is a failing on the guests. A lot of cigarette butts all over the beach and the smell of it was extremely unpleasant considering it was right next to the beach and on the sand. The food was also extremely mediocre. On my previous stays at all inclusive resorts I was always blown away by the food and their flavors, on this occasion it wasn’t anything special and I was not excited to eat until I went to the center where I actually had great food.

The BEST staff anywhere on the island! From the front desk to the wait staff. Food was all great. They are cleaning the property daily and will always try to get you what you need, just ask. The rooms could use an upgrade but otherwise 100% wonderful.

El personal de recepción es muy prepotente en particular un señor de nombre Omar nos trató muy mal al momento de hacer el check in y en esos días que estuvimos de hospedadas ahí nos contestaba de mal modo, se tardó en darnos las tarjetas para ingresar a la habitación, tuvimos que ir después y no nos entregó la llave de la caja fuerte . De verdad muy mal

Reviews that mention terrible checkin process are absolutrly correct. We arrived 2 hours before 11am check in and the front deak wanted to charge $80usd to allow us to check in to the property. We didnt need full access or even food or drinks but wantef to just check out the beach. The front desk person told us to sit on the chairs and not move until 11am. What?! Im on vacation, not on time out. Ultimalely another staff came and told us to enjoy the beach. The check in process was long and included extra resort fees $15usd/room/night. None of this was mentioned in our all inclusive package. Rooms were clean and large and I think most if not all have ocean views. The best part of thia resort is the activity staff. Leo, Cesar and Cristian were incredibly fun and made up for the grumpy front desk folks. Palapas are available if you are up well before 7am. Many folks chain smoke all day under palapas. Gross! Snorkeling is wonderful and they have free guided tours at 11am. There is one buffet restaurant and one a la carte. You need to line up before 8am to get an a la carte reservation. Food is fine. There is no night life at this resort. No shows. No bar. Not even a lobby with music. After dinner you can enjoy the beach, go off property or go to bed. Nada. Zilch. Nothing to do. This is a budget property and it shows. The staff (aside from check in) are incredible and its a very mellow place with almost no rules. Example you can bring food and drink to the beach. 7/10

The room we ended up inhad a toilet that did not work. The rooms should be inspected before a guest goes in. It says there are breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Only breakfast is buffet. And it is very limited. No oatmeal to eat. Only for fruit. Angelica and her morning crew were very nice. And the dinner crew, eapecially Manuel were stupendous. The dinner made up for all the craziness. I dont know if we would stay there again. The beach area was unforgettable though.

Well let’s start from the very begging. We booked the room from Expedia. We were sent an email to have pre check in but it didn’t work out because we didn’t have a code. I was texting to the hotel to get one but nobody replied me. Ok. We got the hotel. It took 45 min to check in. How is this possible??? It’s a very simple procedure to check in, but it took 45 min. Very disappointing. The room was nice and big but the sofa was super old with spots on it that you even don’t feel like sitting over there. The food was good at buffet restaurant. Variety of food: meat, chicken, fish, rice, pasta. Italian restaurant was good but it 50 min to wait for the order for 2 people. How is this possible??? The biggest frustrating point was no kayaks or pan les on the beach as it is announced on booking. The hotel said it is not available because all of these was on maintenance!!!! All the boards and kayaks???? We didn’t mind to pay extra for it but it is simply was not available!!!! Super bad! There is no animation or any evening program. After dinner, go to sleep. Overall I am not sure that I will come back again or recommend to my friends. There are so many things to improve and definitely doesn’t cost 180 USD per night. I am so sorry for telling you this, but it should be a better experience for this money.

The El Cozumeleno is our favorite resort on the island of Cozumel. We have gone there six times now we like to staff the food is authentic Mexican the water is crystal clear and the beach is the best. The price is very good. It is a very quiet place on the very north end of the island no tourist, traffic, and very good location.

This resort has the best beach on the island. My wife and I are world travelers, we live in San Diego. But, we come here often for the year round 80+ degree clear water. We like all of the staff here. All rooms have an ocean view. We always get 5/8th floor rooms with balconies. The value for the cost is excellent. If you want better food go pay $600 a night somewhere else. But those places don’t have the beach atmosphere like here. We’ve done checked all of them out on the island. We used to do Cancun until we found this place. We’ve been to beaches in Bali, Hawaii, Spain, Greece, Africa, Egypt, Malibu etc. But this is our go to place. Fly into Cozumel airport and you’re only a 15 minute taxi ride away.

Place was pretty amazing on the grounds people always cleaning and manicuring things. Ocean view and beach access was amazing compared to properties close by. Staff always friendly and wanting to make you feel special. Rooms are a little dated but didn’t go there to hang out in the room. Would highly recommend for the price and service

The view of the ocean is amazing, they have some nice calm waters to go swimming. The hotel is not really close to town so you will need to take a cab everyday if you want to explore town. If your a picky eater tough luck food would be the area that they can most improve on. The rooms are solid, shower was kinda broken but hot water was working and A/C was great. For the price it’s not bad at all.

Great property overall. We utilized the pool daily, had great wait staff serving plenty of drinks and food. The birds at the buffet were pretty aggressive so we opted to eat in the restaurant each night. The dress code for men to wear pants needs to be changed. (Who brings dress pants to the beach! Nice shorts should be acceptable.)

The pool was filthy with green water. Pool bar was closed for the season… The faucets were crusty in sink & shower; 50% of the time, we couldn’t get hot water. The birds in the dining room were nasty! The views were beautiful, the waitstaff was perfect!

Coz is what it is for the $. There is a good reason it's the cheapest AI. The sanitary conditions at the buffet are atrocious. There are birds everywhere literally sitting in the food and eating it. Pointed it out to the staff and they laughed it off. It wasn't until getting loud about conditions that they reacted. The food was awful in the buffet. Black birds flying all over and diving into the buffet food. I was standing in line for an omelette one day, and had a black bird poop on my arm. So disgusting. Inside restaurant food was delicious. Snorkeling excellent. Beautiful view. NO nighttime entertainment whatsoever. I would not return to this resort.

We have been to several.ptoperties in Cozumel. This property needs an upgrade that goes with their nightly rate. The front desk ia not very welcoming. The room we ended up inhad a toilet that did not work. The rooms should be inspected before a guest goes in. It says there are breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Only breakfast is buffet. And it is very limited. No oatmeal to eat. Only for fruit. Angelica and her morning crew were very nice. And the dinner crew, eapecially Manuel were stupendous. The dinner made up for all the craziness. I dont know if we would stay there again. The beach area was unforgettable though.

The location is amazing, but the rooms are in really poor condition. The staff works really hard. They are so nice. The buffet food is horrible but the restaurant options are amazing. You just have to make a reservation. The breakfast is really good in the restaurant as well without any reservation required, but avoid the buffet. The rooms are very worn down. The views were amazing from the balcony but the bathroom amenities not so good as the hairdryer was burnt and didn’t work , the bathroom sliding doors looked moldy. They need to upgrade the rooms definitely.

The staff were amazing. The hotel room was average. The shower was below par with only getting tepid water and no hot water. The internet pics showed many restaurants and bars, and there turned out to be two restaurants, one bar. One pool was being refurbished, no swim-up bar as advertised, one restaurant you HAD to make a reservation even though we were one of two tables in the place on two different nights. Food at both restaurants was average at best.

The wait staff, bartenders, guest service and room hospitality were all friendly and accommodating. The lunch and dinner menu lacked a daily selection, but was decent. The inside restaurant requires all patrons to wear long pants and dresses. The manager accommodated our family who did not have long pants, by seating us at an outside table which was lovely. The beach and snorkeling were amazing! There were tons of fish to see and schools of fish surrounded us. It is a beautiful hotel, but needs updating. We saw people painting, fixing and laying new carpet while we were there. Overall, my family would rate this hotel as good for the price and amenities. We have 18 and 14 year old sons who had a blast at the beach and pool!

It was the most wonderful experience! We fell in love with the beach and all of the great people who works there and become your family for as long as you stay! I just came back and I already miss Santiago, Carlos, Miguel, German, Hugo, Alejandro! They are so great! The hotel is super clean, the rooms super big, the food is great and they always aim to please every request you have! I plan to go back at least once a year!

We were there three weeks and we had a great time. The staff is excellent. The pools and the ocean is excellent. The beach is wonderful. We’ve been going there for 38 years air-conditioning could be a little cooler.
