Edmonton Inn and Conference Centre

Good enough for the price, but very outdated and not very clean. Not much to offer, lounge was closed down, lots of renovations going on, pop machines were all out of order. BUT the service was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel is dated but bed was clean. Musty smell in room, prob baked into the room. Not enough lights when dark. One elevator not functional so a long wait when lobby busy. One of the worst gyms I’ve used, no one uses it so assume not an investment for them. Not the nicest area but many amenities around. Staff was good and efficient.

The hotel and conference centre would have been an upscale venue in its day. Today, it is tired and outdated. The carpet in the room needed to be vacuumed, and spots were worn through to the floor. The bathroom had updated the countertop on the vanity, but the shower was patched with silicon. The rooms are big, and the beds are comfortable. The linens were clean. The photos online do not represent the hotel as it is today. The gym had broken and unusable cardio machines, and most of the dumbbells were missing. The area felt safe, and the staff were friendly.

Hotel room was rundown and in poor condition, plumbing issues no cold water in shower, mold on bath mat and dirty fixtures. Restaurant is relatively good though with friendly staff. Fitness room had broken equipment and needs an upgrade. The local area is unsafe but close to the Royal Alex which is convenient. Price is reasonable for what you get.

I have bruises on my leg from the elevator door closing on it. There was no safety sensor to have the doors open back up. So dangerous! Our room was disgustingly dirty. There was grime and rust in the shower. There was tooth paste in the sink. The carpets in halls were so loose they were a tripping hazard. The carpets in the room were worn and stained throughout. There was enough dust around the room to write a story in it. Dead and live insects all over. Terrible experience!!! Beyond disappointing and disgusting!

Hotel is dated, old carpets leave an unpleasant musty smell everywhere including lobby. Balcony door didn’t feel secure/safe, curtains didn’t close so was awake with the sun and the shower had multiple dead bugs when we arrived so didn’t want to shower.

Elevators super slow. Bathroom tap didn’t work. Pillows super hard. Musty smell throughout. No screen in small window. Just felt dirty. Staff was lovely.

The hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. Not just the rooms but the entire hotel. The lobby, the seating areas, the rooms, elevators. It smells quite bad in the lobby and the hallways. The rooms have a musky smell as well. The room was dirty, so was the lobby and the rest of the hotel. The only thing clean in the room was the sheets. The AC does not work. The window didn’t even have a lock on it. There are also people wandering around at night high in drugs. I would not recommend staying here unless you’re desperate.

Hôtel needs to be freshened up, it was very dark and dingy overall. Our room had something brown/black smeared/drupped??? On the wall in a few places and the room was so dark even with all the lighting on. The room service staff did a lovely job. The front desk staff (on arrival) was a little off putting in how we were addressed; I know we likely looked bedraggled after travel but… It used to be such a nice place and can definitely be again- just needs to bring some light and life back into it.

The room was a bit dirty. Big pee stain on the chair and a big booger on the wall. The bed was clean and comfy, it did the trick for the one night I was there.

This place is run down and old. Carpets are gross, beds are lumpy and uncomfortable and the place is just outdated. Needed to move rooms 4 times to find one where there wasnt vomit down the sides of the bedside table.

The room looks unkempt, it may be clean but it’s hard to say. It looks dated and things are in disrepair so it feels like it’s dirty. The mattresses are probably 20 years old, I pulled the sheets off to check for bugs and noticed how old the mattress looks, the carpet is gross and seems to be coming up and wrinkling, with many stains. Tiles in the bathroom are coming off. The wall paper in the bathroom is wrinkled and coming off the wall. There is no plug in the bathroom sink. To keep the room cool, because there is no AC, we opened the window and left it open all night but there was no screen to keep bugs/mosquitios out. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The carpet was terrible. The drain plug chain in the tub had a big gob of hair on it. Very disappointed

Beds and Bathroom were clean. Rooms definitely need an update. Carpet in room was stained with questionable stains. Front lobby smells of possible stagnant water or sewer. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in a great spot for shopping and events. It felt safe, just very dated. Priced appropriately for a hotel if you are just needing to sleep after an event and leave in the a.m.

It was a very pleasant stay, nice view of Rogers Place too. I look forward to spending more nights at EDMONTON INN in the near future. I found my hotel.

Excellent check in. Room was clean and lots of room. Extremely hot in the room, even with the window open and the heater turned off we could not get the room to cool down. other people that we traveled with had the same issue.

Very old, run down, relatively clean but smelled terrible. Lobby area a bit more modern but guest rooms are many years overdue for a renovation. If you can afford a bit more stay elsewhere.

Hotel is very old and the lobby smells of sewer. They need to put some money into the place. Maybe start renovating a floor at a time. Beds are very hard. Things seemed clean but definitely had a smell in the room. Temperature in room too warm and couldn’t adjust it

Outdated hotel

Great location and the room was wonderful. It was nice and clean and large. We loved the convenience of being close to Kingsway mall and NAIT. Only thing that would make it better is to have breakfast included.

The beds were like sleeping on a piece of plywood, pillows were lumpy and no A/C. Room was stifling hot even with fan on high and windows were not able to open. Desk service and restaurant were great.

Check in took half an hour. 3 elevators, 2 not working and we get stuck in the 3rd one. Now having to use the service elevator. Housekeeping had barged into the room 2 times questioning why we haven’t left yet when we have the room booked for 2 nights. The fire alarm went off for an hour at 4 am; staff “thinks” it was a disgruntled customer pulling the alarm. Yet they can’t get it turned off.

I booked this place for my parents to stay, as there was an event for social club. My issue was with one of their staff. The check in was a horrible process. The lady (I can't remember her name), wasn't the most accommodating person to speak to. I didn't have a credit card on me, but a debit Mastercard. (I was able to use this card to book the room) She kept saying outloud how I should have a credit card and that all hotels require a credit card and I cannot stay in a hotel without one. I didn't really appreciate that unnecessary lesson being said so loudly. (I am a Hilton Member and book all my rooms with the same debit Mastercard that I have, and it works). Then, when I had to do the security deposit, I had to pay $250 instead of the $100 because of no CC. I didn't mind that and was fine with it, but she had the audacity to ask if I had $250? I felt so judged and I didn't think I looked a certain way to question that. Everything eventually worked out, but it took SO MUCH longer than it should have. The Check-out process was a lot smoother. I didn't have the same person and he was much friendlier and more accommodating. Pros: The view is nice. It's overlooking the Kingsway area. The room was booked on the 14th floor so it was nice. The ambience is calm too. This is an older hotel, but a nice one.

While I was the only one checking in, the two staff at the front reception were sitting talking to each other discussing what time they expected to get off, stapling other paperwork, and didn’t seem focussed on checking me in. It took 25 minutes to get my room card. The hotel was older. The elevator button was coming off the wall, the bathroom had some weird mildew smell and the walls were paper thin, which didn’t bode well when the neighbouring unit got home from the bar at 2am. Good price, but I think I’ll pay extra next time not to stay here.

Staff was friendly but there was a convention on so it was very busy and only 2 staff on desk to look after check ins and take calls ….took about 30 min to be seen to check in. Rooms and facility are outdated but clean. Close to Nait which is nice for ease to school

It was for medical reasons. Do not know the city well. This Hotel is located in a convenient location. I am able to drive to it easily and able to get to the hospital with relative ease.

We stay at the Edmonton Inn because it is close to the Royal Albert Hospital, is easy to get to, is clean and has friendly staff.

Stayed 2 nights. Inexpensive, lots of parking and clean although the property is definitely dated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast both mornings and it was excellent and reasonably priced (though the menu is limited).

Staff were great. The elevators are pretty run down and rooms are dated, which isnt a huge deal. Everything worked as it should and room was well cleaned which was great. My only actual complaint is the bed felt like an actual slab of concrete. I'm normally not too fussy about beds but it was particularly uncomfortable. Even the pillows were oddly small and awkward to use. Ate supper the the restaurant in the hotel on the first night but didnt return after that as food was bland, fries were stale, and didnt come as described on the menu so definitely not worth the prices. Not a lot of restaurants around either, but a 30 minute walk gets you to Kingsway mall where there are options. Other than that the place was everything we needed.

The food service was absolutely horrible with over cooked and under cooked entres. Service was poor and breakfast was a wait in a slow restaurant with a housekeeper on break brought coffe. After 20 minutes left with coffee money left on table. It was plain that the person working this large empty restaurant had either intentionally to make all the tips herself or no staff. The bad part was we had intended to book another night through hotels.ca We stayed at a relatives home. Billing process on check in could not give us a pre- authorization receipt. In the 40+ years that is a first.

I didn’t like the fact that the restaurant didn’t open till eight

I was surprised that our room didn't have a USB port to charge phones, etc. but everything else was very good. We ate at the restaurant and were very pleased with the meals we ordered. We would definitely go there again and recommend this facility to family and friends.

Went for an outdoor concert and a few days of shopping. The hotel was clean and staff were very friendly and polite. Highly recommend staying here. The restaurant was great.

Good location, not far from Rogers Place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. No food available at hotel after 10pm; I tried to get something from their snack area at the front desk but was told they were closed. Could use some TLC on the elevators, cleanliness overall was okay but could be attended to a bit more. Bed was comfy and our room had a window which we could open for fresh air.

There was a mouse running around in the dining area when we dined the first night. Subsequently, we did not eat there for future meals! The room, although dated, was clean. Our room cards lost their code after the first day, and the receptionist accused us of doing something to them - not a pleasant response!

Property could use an update. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. However, there were some minor things such as light bulbs burned out, etc. that could be better maintained. Breakfast at the restaurant was very slow but was good.
