Hotel was good. Rooms were decent. Pool is very small. Way smaller than it looks in pictures. Pool is also very shallow. Deepest part by the slide is only 1.1m deep. The water fountain was also not working which was disappointing as it was one of the reasons we booked there

The staff were really nice and helpful. The rooms were a good value for the price. The free breakfast is actually amazing. The pool seemed a little dirty and the hot tub jets didn’t work but overall it was good!

Easy parking for over height vehicles, the restaurant in the parking lot was nice, easy to uber around town, quiet, great selection in the free daily breakfast. The slide and hot tub at the pool was great for the family

I chose the hotel for easy access and that it had the pool and waterpark for the kids. I feel that the pool deck could use a good cleaning, it appeared dirty. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast area was clean. There were pretty good breakfast options for the kids too. It is a very family friendly hotel.

We saw poop in the pool. We told a staff member and they said it wasn’t poop but a toy. I went to the gym the next morning (next to the pool)….the pool was supposed to open at 7:00am but was closed till 9:00am for extra cleaning. They knew what it was and lied about it. We won’t be back.

Had a great stay. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and breakfast was great. The pool was wonderful with kids. Pool area was clean and nice large hottub. Close to the west ed mall. The only thing i wasnt happy with was the large group (hockey team) of kids in the pool at one time. The parents drinking and not supervising their kids whom we all going down the waterslide at once and crashing into littke kids. Be nice to have a limit of people in the pool at a time.

The stay was pretty average! The breakfast was good, lots of options including waffles, bagels, cereals etc. staff were super friendly. When we arrived our pull out couch was stuck so we asked for maintenance and they were there super quick! Cons are the pool area is a bit dirty and you can tell the hot tub is kinda old considering how much bubbles and gunk come from the jets. Our room itself was decently clean but we did find a LIVE bed bug in our bed as we left. We let the front desk know at checkout so hopefully it’s taken care of.

Room was clean and spotless. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help accomodate by allowing my self to put my oversized boxes from Ikea into one of the board rooms. It was a great stay and will be back.

The pool area, specifically by the pool shower was covered in flying bugs and clear evidence of lack of daily cleaning. Staff was nice though. Decent breakfast, room was clean overall but shower wasn’t great.

So loud. We heard conversations in other rooms above and below us and constant toilet flushing. Be careful at the bottom of the pool it kills the feet. Dirtyyyyyyy. Sticky floors in room. We left a night early.

Our cable was out in the room, choppy. Seemed like poor connection. I called front desk twice about an hour apart to ask if someone could come check, but was placed on hold for a long time both times. Our bathroom door didn’t close, was just jammed open about an inch. The wireless charger for our phones didn’t work. Room smelled like onions. It was just disappointing.

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are a little dated and dusty. Surfaces and linens were very clean but the room itself had cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling and the curtains were dusty. Also only the sheers closed - not the curtains, so there was no option for darkening the room or protecting privacy other than the bush planted in front of the window. We were in a ground floor room so that was a little awkward. Additionally we had issues with the room door closing properly. It was previously damaged as if it had been kicked in at one point. We managed to get it to close and lock but it was a hassle. We did bring it up to hotel staff - 3 times - and was told someone would look at it. I think it was a bigger job so they said they’d address it after we checked out.

We booked a family suite for 4 nights as we have a 5 yr old and a 1 yr old so my husband and I could hang out after the kids went to bed (we always book a suite for this reason). When we got to the room, the doors to the bedroom were tempered glass, (not solid doors). The light from the window/tv shined right through, making the suite useless to us. I went down to the front desk to see if they had another room with solid doors. They didn’t have suggested we tape up garbage bags to the glass. When I went back to tape the garbage bags up, I noticed there was already double sided tape (almost scrapbook tape) around the trim of the door. It definitely wasn’t what we were hoping for and we’re quite unhappy. It was also extremely noisy during the night. The room above us decided to start walking around/moving furniture from 230-400 am. I called to complain twice and they said the guests were just “walking around” (we had a sound machine/bathroom fan running and it didn’t cut the sound). The continental breakfast was the exact same every single day, microwaved egg omelettes, sausage, and your other basic breakfast items (except no bananas). The slide was good for the older kids. However the pool is tiny and is SO loud with the splash area constantly going and no way to turn it off. My 1 yr old didn’t even want to go in there due to the noise. Definitely consider another option if you are booking a suite with young kids.

If you stay on any floor where rooms are above you , it’s extremely loud . Could hear every footstep . Especially if there’s a family above you , kids running back and forth until 12am . Actual room was clean , pool was great for the littles . Breakfast was decent , staff friendly . Very convenient price and location . But if you come to relax and have a quiet stay , this isn’t the hotel ( coming from a mom with a toddler )

This hotel's age is showing; we had to have our rooms switched twice before everything was in mostly working order. Our first room's TV & phone were not working, our second rooms bed seemed to break when I sat down on the edge of it, and even our third and final room had two lights that didn't work. Overall the hotel was clean, and the staff were wonderful and accommodating, however the very clear age of the hotel overshadows the otherwise good experience and great location on the West End.

The staff are kind, happy and make you feel welcome, the atmosphere is inviting, updated and clean all the way around, their breakfast was great, awesome selection of breakfast amenities!! Highly recommended!!! WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!

Well i booked a room a day in advance spoke with a staff member about my brother checking in , he assured me everything was all good. There would be no issues at all long as he had conformation number. My brother and his family make a trip down there couple hours early and gets denied access on the grounds his ID has an edmonton address on it. I call the guy and he won't even let me follow through with my reservation cause my Id also has edmonton address. They cancel my booking and keep my 250 bucks i paid for the room. I understand they have a no refund policy, on cancelations but this was due to being miss unformed on the no locals policy.

When we checked in, we were given the keys so we went upstairs with our luggages. When we opened the room, it is not tidy yet from the previous occupant. So we went to tje réception again but the receptionist that we talked to didn't even say an apology. His name is Lee.

Very convenient location to my family and also the west Edmonton mall, also a lot of easy fast food restaurants within a minute drive. The pool is nice but it is small… kids going in front of the water slide which is concerning.. but the hot tub was nice! Hot but not too hot just perfect. The staff were very nice and welcoming on check in and check out. Parking was easy.. breakfast gets pretty crowded at certain times but that usually happens at any hotel breakfast. The room was what you’d expect, pretty clean, comfy beds, simply nice bathroom. Fridge didn’t get very cold. But overall I’ll probably be staying here again on my next visit to Edmonton.

Overall a decent hotel. The waterpark was fun for the kids but is in need to repairs for sure. Quite a few homeless outside the doors lingering around which did not provide a lot of comfort. Breakfast was good.

We booked this hotel based on the listing saying it was a 3 min drive to west Edmonton mall, NOT true. It's a 15 minute drive. This was a big disappointment. What's concerning is some travelers could think they can walk to the mall. This would be very difficult especially with children! You have to drive a major road to get there with little pathway. The shower that everyone is to take before entering the pool wasn't working, the water wasn't very clear. The pool itself was quite small and the whole area was overcrowded. The included breakfast was pretty good with a variety of choices and was well stocked. The room was spacious but outdated. The lobby looks nice but the rest of the hotel needs to be updated.

Breakfast was good…varied. Location was good. All the staff we dealt with were great… but the water issue in between the old tub and the new one wasn’t great and the old (bleach stained) blanket on the pull out couch made the hotel feel a bit run down.

Great stay! We will return. Comfy beds, quiet yet convenient location. We’ve stayed at a quite a few hotels in the last couple years and this place is best yet. Pool temperature was perfect, waterslide was fun, most pools are freezing cold. The continental breakfast was far superior to others.. Make your own waffles was a huge hit.

My review isn’t helpful for everyone but I’m pretty sure I’ve stayed at a Wingate with gluten free options for breakfast before. This one had none. If you don’t have dietary restrictions though buffet looked great, very fast waterslide. Clean. Very close to WEM.

Close proximity to the West Edmonton mall. Good breakfast included in price. Bed and rooom was comfortable. Sound did travel in the hallway and adjacent room(s), so if you're a light sleeper, recommend some ear plugs.

Continental breakfast included eggs and sausage or bacon, toast with a decent selection of spreads, Danish, bagel, make your own waffle station, yogurt, mini coxed cereal, apples (red and/or green), oranges, sometimes banana, a variety of juices, milk, a variety of coffees and tea options as well. The eggs would be an omlet of some sort. Either plain with cheese or it may have ham and bell peppers. Each day, breakfast was deemed "delicious" according to my incredibly picky child. She would change things up and would never get bored of the food. We stayed for almost a week.
