Fantastic hotel. Very comfortable room in a convenient location. Just 12 mins walk to central train station, 7 mins to the Kleinmarkthalle and old town. Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The gym was outstanding for a European hotel. Very nice staff. The only complaint was a very noisy radiator, but I think I got unlucky with that. Would definitely stay again if in Frankfurt.

Ideally situated for its convenience to not only the central train station but also to many local sites and the river. Loads of restaurants around. Many transit options, whether by tram, underground, or the train station, the greater Frankfurt area is easily at your disposal. The hotel itself, although grand with years of history behind it, it was a bit unfortunate the renovation in the hotel, on our floor, and the larger construction project on the street outside our room was not mentioned at the time of booking or upon check in. With both projects starting work at 730 in the morning, it was a bit of a rude awakening. There was also an issue with housekeeping knocking on our door a bit early in the morning even though we had the do not disturb on the door. Hotel does have some amazing facilities, in the bar, spa, smoking lounge, and brasserie. As well as some great employees to take care of you while lodging at the property.

A lovely traditional hotel right in the centre of Frankfurt. Staff were super helpful especially the concierge who helped us with all our restaurant bookings. The gym & spa were great although be aware there is no swimming pool. We booked breakfast & in hindsight we should have had breakfast out & about as although the breakfast choice was very good & extensive, the breakfast room was very busy & hot & felt a little hectic. I would stay here again if visiting Frankfurt & would recommend the hotel for location & old fashioned grandeur!

Close to Christmas markets and good vibe in hotel. Bar is super with attentive staff. However, fire alarm in room adjacent went off for ages in the night with no communication from staff. Eventually it stopped. We were awoken to inconsiderate neighbours being sick in toilets and singing in showers. Spa was also a huge let down - most lockers do not work and only one sauna and steam room was available. Bathroom amenities had not been restocked - empty shower wash and vanity pack. All in all, a nice hotel but let down by lack of communication, functioning facilities, and inconsiderate guests adjacent.

The Air Conditioning in this place is borderline non-existent. I had it running nonstop in May, and it barely had any impact. Don't come here in warm weather (75F/24C or higher) unless you like to sleep WARM. Our bathroom floor had dirt spots on them. We asked the front desk to clean the floors in our bathroom, and when we got back later someone had been in the room, but the spots were still clearly visible. At first we thought they might have been stains, but we took some water to a paper towel and they started coming up with some modest scrubbing. Not what I'd expect for this price point.

The staff were great and helpful but we stayed three separate times in May and June and every time our room had problems. Clogged sinks, windows that wouldn’t close, mini fridge not working, iPad for room service not working, air conditioning blowing warm air, and on at late arrival and check in after an 11 hour flight both the shampoo and conditioner bottles were 100% empty.

Das Zimmer war sauber allerdings hatten die Beistelltische Flecken und die minibar sah wirklich unlecker aus. Sie wird nur auf Wunsch befüllt jedoch sollte das kein Anlass sein das der Kühlschrank in diesem Zustand ist. Außerdem war unser Spa Erlebnis nicht so schön, da die finnische Sauna und damit die wärmste nicht ging. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und das Hotel ist auch sonst sehr schön. Das Personal war auch sehr nett.

It's a beautiful historic hotel in an unbeatable location. I enjoyed my stay here. The service at the check-in desk and concierge was great. The housekeeping was thorough, and I always returned to a fresh room. I appreciated the free room upgrade that I was offered for my Expedia VIP status, as many hotels do not honor this. I did pay an extra 100 Euros for an early check-in, but I was able to check-in at 9AM after a long flight. I checked-in on a day that promised to be over 100-degrees, and the hotel lobby was very warm and stuffy, but my room was a comfortable temperature. I would have liked to open my windows at night, but my room faced some sort of loud machinery (maybe an HVAC system? ) that forced me to keep my windows closed. Some things could have been better. My room was rough around the edges. There were stains on the lampshades, bed skirt, and headboard. The shelf in the shower was broken, and the minifridge had a crack in the door. The service at breakfast was lacking for the price. It is entirely self-service, down to even having to brew you own tea. When I asked a waiter for water he said "You will find it" and walked away. Well, I couldn't find it because they were out and it was 10 minutes before they replaced it. I really expect more for a 45 Euro breakfast at a hotel like this. So, while I might recommend a stay here based on the location of the hotel, I am not sure that it is worth the price they charge.

Unique location no better place in Frankfurt, it has always been my preferred stay when I visit Frankfurt for business or with family, unfortunately this time it felt the standards in general have plumetted, lets start with clealiness, the bedding was dreadful, first time in any place I ever stayed that my allergies triggered due to the dust in the room noticeable at plain sight, not just in mine but also in my daughters room....against my wife wishes of looking for other options I chose the Steigenberger for its tradition and because pre- covid I received nothing less than excellent service and always had great memories, unfortunately this time, I must say i was greatly disappointed, dont write this review to discredit but to make a point, because in my next visit to Frankfurt plan to book again this Hotel and trust will see things have changed.

Can’t say I was all that impressed….especially given what we paid. It’s a very beautiful hotel, stunning staircase, marble and gold, high ceilings and concierge and front staff were very friendly. Ive never stayed at a hotel that almost encourages you to opted of the cleaning service, so I’m not sure if this is a common thing or not. It was a beautiful hotel that had so much to offer but fell waaayyy short with a few things. First, we were on the 4th floor at the end of the longest hallway I’ve ever seen….almost needed a shuttle to get back and forth. Two of the 3 nights, the elevator was broken. So with the long hallway this was quite the workout. The bathroom in the room was TINY and there was no fan/ventilation, so the room always smelled damp with an odour I just can’t describe. Because the bathroom is located right at the front door, the smell hits you like a ton of bricks every time you walked in the door. The sink took forever to drain and there were only slippers, no robes (which our friends had in their room). The icing on the cake was that we only had one nightstand. The room was big and could totally accommodated two, so I had to have my phone and watch laying on the floor next to one side of the bed, in order to charge it and for me to see the time. The staff were so confused when I asked them about it. The compensation they provided was two days of breakfast. And because I booked via Expedia, they wouldn’t provide a discount on the nightly rate.

This hotel is in a great location. Close to the river, the main train station, and the main shopping district. The hotel itself is pretty, but starting to show some aging. My only real complaint is breakfast is the worst service I’ve had, and this is 2 years in a row. You have to chase people down to get coffee or any beverages. I sat for about 10 minutes before anyone came over. The food is ok, not worth the charge. There are great bakeries and coffee places right outside the hotel with better service and food. The gym is nice, the extra touch of bottled water in the room is very helpful. Their staff at the front door was helpful, Friendly and on top of things. Between that level of service and the front desk being so helpful I would stay again. O just won’t eat breakfast there!

Great location for sightseeing in Frankfurt. Close to many restaurants, bars and cafes, and heaps of shopping. Hotel is appointed beautifully and spotlessly clean. Our room was quiet and should have meant a great night’s sleep - except for the terrible bedding. The mattress was way too squishy and, combined with equally squishy pillows, we were bent and twisted all night. We tried the main bar, which was nice enough but expensive relative to the quality of food/drinks and mediocre service. Similarly the restaurant (Oscars) - disinterested staff and okay food. With other, much better options within a very short walk, we wouldn’t bother returning to either. Really good hotel, except for the restaurant/bar.

The room was amazing. From cleanliness to amenities including having two individual covers on the bed. (Something we always struggle to get at other hotels) Staff were amazing all through the hotel. Breakfast was superb. We had dinner one night in the hotel and it too was amazing.

Stately looking property in a great location. Big rooms huge bathrooms. Poor air conditioning. What I found unacceptable was that when I went to the hotel restaurant around 2:30 for lunch and was told in no uncertain terms that they had a very busy lunch and cannot accommodate anyone else. For somebody who was staying at their property with 5 rooms booked and a hungry group to be sent away was unacceptable. This is a 5 star property in all aspects including price and for the maitre d to send guests away was not ok. It should be noted that this was one employee not living up to the standards of the property and should not cast a negative impression on the property as a whole. The incident took place on June 26.
