Hotel Villa Florentina

This hotel was extremely charming - not too far from the main station and tucked away in a lovely neighborhood surrounding by greenery. My brother and I loved the homey feel! The room was a very nice size, bigger than several others we'd stayed in during our travels around Germany, and we were actually able to check in a little early which was nice. The on-site breakfast was very nice as well, featuring a lot of options from fresh fruit, delicious pastries, eggs, cold meats and cheese, as well as juices, coffee, and tea. We had an early train to catch but were able to take advantage of a quick breakfast beforehand and were super grateful. The only downside to this visit was that we didn't stay longer than one night. I'd definitely recommend this adorable hotel.

Our stay was just okay. The room was a bit of a squeeze, feeling too small for our group. The third bed was also pretty uncomfortable. The hotel's location was convenient, being close to the central train station. However, the area leading to the train station was a letdown, with a noticeable presence of homeless people and litter. It's a shame, as I remembered this city fondly from visits to Germany and Frankfurt 40 years ago - it seems to have changed a lot since then. On a brighter note, the breakfast was fantastic, and the staff in the breakfast area were super friendly and made our morning meal really enjoyable.
