Hôtel de la Cigogne

Beautiful hotel in the centre of Geneve. Staff really kind and efficient. A little bit slow in serving breakfast in the morning. The Libanese restaurant Balila is excellent.

This hotel is centrally located is the busy city. Parking is difficult to find at night, underground structure at $30 per night but is within a 5 minute walk. I upgraded our room which was spacious 500 sq ft, but the bathroom was tiny. Staff was friendly. Walkable to all of the city.

The breakfast was excellent. The decor is not the most uplifting design. Underground parking is 10 minute walk, expensive of course. Great location, but old school feel. The sister hotel is two doors away and has a much better vibe.

It was a little bit of an off experience. The decor of the room as more than a little odd, the bathroom had a hand shower in the tub with no glass. There was very limited vanity space (this is likely what bothered me most). I get this is meant to be a European experience; however, I expected a bit more of given the status of the property. The bar wasn’t really a bar, it was more of a parlor with drink service. Okay I suppose, was looking for more of a lobby “vibe”. Everything was super clean and comfortable, staff very accommodating - perhaps just not aligned with my personal preferences.

Nice hotel in central Geneva old town. Room is updated but still having a classic vibe and spacious. Staffs are eager to assist me in every demand. A la carte breakfast is delicious and included in room rate. A lot of shopping places and restaurants around hotel. Walkable distance from lake Geneva.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Geneva with comfortable rooms and a very good restaurant. Highly recommended.

I am a long time Hotels.com customer and have never written a bad review ever till this stay. Terrible Wifi and I really needed it for work. Ended up in the Starbucks across the piazza. We were fobbed off and told they were updating their systems - you either have wifi or you don’t and this should be clear on the Hotels.com booking page. AirCon non existent. On full fan and cold setting it was extremely weak during outside temps of 25-30C. Asked for repair and we were fobbed off. On checkout when I complained for the fourth day in a row, we were told that Geneva has Govt restrictions on use of AC?! If this is the case, it should be clearly stated on the Hotels .com booking page - we could not sleep it was so hot and sticky at night. Dark lobby entryway and the tiniest elevators I have ever seen- fit one person and one suitcase only Borrowed an adapter plug which I was going to return on checkout to find I was charged 20CH for it! Photos of my “City View” below - it was awful and as we had to open the windows at night for air, we could hear the industrial fans whirring. Overall the location was great but that’s about it.

Fantastic hotel right in the center of the city I have been coming to Geneva a couple of times each year, for over 15 years, and have stayed in all major lakeside hotels, including President Wilson, Hotel d'Angleterre, Kempinski Hotel (now Fairmont Grand Hotel Geneva), Hotel de la Paix Geneva (aka The Ritz-Carlton), and Hotel Metropole Geneve to name a few. However, this was my first stay in Hôtel de la Cigogne, and what a delightful stay it was. The hotel is centrally located right in the center of Geneva, on the Longemalle square next to the Old Town. I stayed in Junior Suite, and it was very spacious and comfortable, with one downside that there were no easily accessible electric outlets near the bed. The hotel is relatively small and boutique. If you are looking for a large foyer, several restaurants, a swimming pool, etc. – this is not the place, and for those things you may want to look into other hotels in Geneva, e.g., Fairmont Grand Hotel. In a sense, Hôtel de la Cigogne is more like Hotel d'Angleterre in its classical and slightly old charm style. The breakfast options at the hotel are limited as there is no buffet, but table service is fairly reasonable. The concierge service / front desk is excellent. All in all, this is an excellent hotel in the center of Geneva, on the Old Town side of the Mont Blanc Bridge, and withing easy walking distance to all major attractions in Geneva. Would definitely stay there again and have no hesitation recommending it.

Beautiful property, great service. Perfect location walk to everything including all of Old Town. It is located on a pedestrian mall with difficult, so an out of town taxi had trouble finding the location

I was quite disappointed with the hotel since it was very dirty upon check In. There was trash from the previous guests still left in the room as well as uncleaned hair all over the bathrobes in the restroom. Not what is expected of a 5 star hotel. Informed the front desk but they just stated it usually does not happen.

This is an old school/Old World hotel at the gateway to the old town section of Geneva. We booked a junior suite here for four nights in August of 2025 and enjoyed our suite. The furniture appears to be 200-300 years old and supports the Old World charm and ambiance of this hotel. The only real problem we had with this hotel was with the restaurant. We decided to have lunch at the hotel during the time we were there and had a very nice corner table. The food was good, but we had a bottle of white wine that the wait staff kept in a chiller just out of our reach. That meant that they had to do the pouring as I would have to had to get up to actually get my hands on the bottle. This was very inconvenient, and in the end our waiter came over, inspected the wine bottle, which still had a quarter of a bottle left, and decided to take it away despite our protests. This wasn't good and is why they are getting one star for service. The housekeeping on the other hand, was outstanding. They had a sign to hang out when the room was ready for servicing and they came quickly and did good work. Overall, I would recommend this hotel but would warn about the hotel restaurant, as that wasn't a good experience for us.

Foi uma boa surpresa que tivemos com o hotel. Ele é pequeno, portanto permite um atendimento quase personalizado. Apesar de antigo, o hotel mantém sua estrutura em perfeita condição, com conforto e charme. E ainda merece o destaque de ser bem localizado.

Hotel needs renovation, very old and outdated but very clean. Service is good. Location is great

The bed was comfortable. The bathroom looked renovated and nice. The area was quiet. There was AC in the rooms, much needed with the heat. The lobby is too small and old. But it’s fine, the breakfast area is nice especially outside. The staff are really helpful and responsive.

Das Hotel ist im Grossen und Ganzen gut. Die Zimmer haben leider zu wenig Steckdosen zB für Laptop, Handy etc.

This is a relatively dark hotel. Not my favorite. Also for a hotel with this many stars, it has no air conditioning. It is located in a great location.

A characterful boutique hotel with very frendly staff. The olny criticism I'd have is that there was no USB or provision to charge your phone or laptop in the room, the Swiss have their own unique power outlets so my Worldwide Travel Adapter with built-in USB's wouldn't fit, however reception provided me with a Swiss to European adaptor which solved the problem.

location is amazing, staff were so helpful in every area of the hotel from front desk to house keeping. Rooms are spacious however bathrooms are a little small. Color decor of the room is interesting not my first choice. Great experience

We are regular customers. Great location. Rooms are comfortable and quiet despite the central location of this hotel. Service is fantastic. The only thing missing is a view from the rooms but since we only sleep in the room and not spend much time otherwise , does not make a difference.

I have always liked staying at La Cigogne, due to its convinience, special rooms, service. But this time around, I booked the Jr. suite, It was such a beautiful room, with Chinese furniture, really loved it, but found a few things missing. The least you can expect is a kettle and some coffee cups or mugs...There were literally 4 capsules of coffee for a copule staying.. The worst part was my wife forgot her ear pods in the room, after checking out, we called the hotel and asked them to check, they said they were not there. However todays tech, we can trace them in the premises, on our phone. we know they are there, but the hotel deny's finding them..we have emiled the hotel with a screen shot of the earpods, been shown in the hotel...however the are still refusing to accept .I have stayed there for many years, but I think I will have to think twice the next time I go Geneva.

I was impressed how well the staff handled the difficult situation in which I needed to relocate to another hotel since the room I booked was not available anymore. One of their team members took us to another (very nice) hotel, paid for the taxi, ensured express checkout and made sure the breakfast was included. Building customer loyalty in unexpected situations is not an easy task, but this team did an amazing job. Will come back for sure.

Outstanding location right in the heart of of the city, less than a 10 minute tram ride from the train station. The property itself is beautiful and with an "old school" charm which is what we were after. Also, our room was very quiet. We had breakfast every morning in the restaurant and it was delicious. All of the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional.

A beautiful relais and chateaux hotel! The room was charming and the staff absolutely wonderful. The food is delicious. Definitely highly recommend the restaurant.

I loved staying here. Very classic and personal. The hotel is extremely well located in a peatonal plaza and surrounded by high end boutiques and many restaurants. The hotel is small but beautiful. All the rooms are different in decoration. Loved the restaurant and the staff. Would stay here again. You can walk to the Old Town
