Best Western El Sitio Hotel

Hubo dos eventos que no me gustaron. Uno fue que llegué al hotel a las 2:35 pm y me hicieron esperar hasta las 3:00 pm, aunque lo habitual es que para clientes GOLD siempre hay habitaciones disponibles y opciones de late check out. Tampoco el trato fue de gran amabilidad por parte de recepción, sino que simplemente; "espere hasta después de las 3 de la tarde". Consideraría seriamente hospedarme nuevamente en Best Western. Lo otro es que se fue la electricidad de la calle y el hotel estuvo toda una noche sin servicio eléctrico, por lo que perdí una teleconferencia programada con Vietnam y una sesión de clases de idiomas. El hotel no cuenta con planta eléctrica de respaldo. Muy deficiente.

If you've have an early flight, for the price, it's a good place to stay. Only took 10 minutes to get to the airport. BUT, the casino no longer exists.....

The restaurant was beautiful (a huge tiki hut) but the food was mediocre. There was no shuttle from the airport to the hotel unfortunately so I took a taxi ($20 USD each way)

Huge property with soccer field, aging tennis court, fully equipped gym, spa, play equipment for kids, walking trails, two beautiful pools. In its heyday probably one of the premier hotels in Costa Rica. Easy to find and great location for exploring Liberia. Van to airport. Very friendly staff with lot of security.

This hotel is not a high end hotel BUT the staff were nice. My room was clean (very nice sheets; they were very soft), the bathroom was dated but a good size. The restaurant was very nice looking; in like a tiki hut near the pool but the food was only mediocre. The property was SPECTACULAR!!! The pool was HUGE. A big waterfall in it with greenery and palm trees. TONS of seating available; both lounge chairs and table and chair sets. There was a kiddy pool as well but I didn’t really look at it. Just noticed it. The best part of my stay (other than the pool) was SO MANY BEAUTIFUL PEACOCKS wandering around the property, around the lounge chairs……they were BEAUTIFUL!!! Overall……I would definitely stay there again.

Hotel close to airport, no shuttle, taxi approx $20 usd. Free breakfast, simple rooms no fridge or microwave. The pool area is nice, hotel is clean. On the main road so a lot of traffic, but close to shopping and near Walmart. Overall nice place. We stayed here 1 night when we landed and 1 night before we flew out.

The property lacks maintenance, no hot water for 3 days of my 2 night stay. Had to leave to another hotel, I couldn’t deal with cold showers. There is No casino. Breakfast was great and the pool was very clean.

Nice property. Staff is okay. Pool was closed and it was never communicated to me.

Towels were dirty/stained. Tried to get new bath towels told there are not anymore they are all in the dryer. The casino is closed looks like it’s been closed for a long time. Really worn out property. No refrigerator, no shampoo just a body wash. No ice or bucket.

Bed was rock hard. Ive slept on a bed so hard. It appears to be a thin lining of memory foam onto of a solid surface. The room was fairly clean with the exception of the bathroom. There was a thick layer of dust on the door slots.

- The property has “Casino” in its name however there is no functional casino - Upon arrival to my room, my bedsheets had 10 human hairs and a worm on them. Also, there was a large dead spider on the floor next to my bed - There was a phone in my room but it did not work - The shower wasn’t full enclosed so shower water went all over the bathroom floor I asked for a refund so I could switch hotels and wasn’t granted the refund. I give this hotel 2 stars because breakfast was included and decent. Also, the security/maintenance(?) staff worked quickly on resolving my concerns mentioned above.

Our room had spider webs and mold in it and the telephone and Wi-Fi did not work. Would not recommend.

El hotel a perdido mucho. Se ha convertido en un hotel de paso. No hay botellas de agua en la recepción a la venta. La habitación no tiene agua caliente. El papel higiénico era usado El dispensador del jabón de baño casi vacío Las toallas que un día fueron blancas, ya estaban amarillas, con hilos colgando ya de viejas. En la habitación se escucha el caer del agua de los drenajes de baño de las otras habitaciones. Mal olor en todo los pasillos (orina) Piscina sucia

I don’t know where the other guests who gave this hotel a good review stayed, but my experience was terrible. I made a last minute reservation for New Year’s Eve based on the understanding that they had an airport shuttle according to the hotels.com description. Surprise! I was informed at check-in that they do not. I arrived around midnight on New Year’s. There was no one in reception but a very nice security guard who was pulling triple duty as a receptionist, security guard, and maintenance person. The room was terrible. The water in the shower would not stop dripping all night. The bed was hard as a rock. The mirror had lipstick kiss marks on it, and the wardrobe was so wobbly that when I accidentally bumped into it, it nearly fell over. I’m surprised it wasn’t tethered to the wall. I’d be worried it could fall onto a small child. There were two tiny pillows on a king sized bed. No fridge. No ice. One multi-purpose shampoo/soap in the shower. I got up early the next morning and took an Uber to the airport at an additional cost of about $25. The whole experience was extremely disappointing and I would never stay at this over priced facility again. Spend the extra $25 and get a room at one of the Hilton hotels, which are closer to the airport and offer a better overall experience . disappointing. I would never stay in this 80s rat trap again.

This place deserves 0 stars. Left as soon as we checked in. There were bugs all over the room and curtains. Towels looked raggedy and unsanitary. Complained to the front desk and they told us the bugs were normal. She did switch our room but we were so disgusted we left after an hour. Do not stay here !

Great little oasis in the middle of a bustling city. Beautiful pool area and clean modern rooms

The hotel was quite dated and not very clean in the room. The bed was hard and there were ants in the bathroom. The pool also looked dirty when we walked around it at nighttime. I know this is a tropical location but it was by far the disappointing accommodation of our trip. The woman at the front desk was great and very helpful though (we had an early checkout and she made sure we had some food to take with us). The location also is good - we went for supper at a taco place at a nearby strip mall and it was delicious.

Room was not as shown in pictures. Furniture was coming apart from humidity, room smelt extremely musty, stains on chairs, bed very hard, bathroom had mold and mildew around tiles. One good thing, i asked to change rooms, from the really bad one and was accommodated. Room was slightly better, still not great. Not worth $180 US a night. Another good thing, we were only staying one night.

The rooms need updating. The water in the shower never got warm. Interesting place

The property itself is very nice. Lovely pool with chaise lounges that had a "top" so you could shield your face from the sun, see to read a book, etc. Tiki hut restaurant was good but a bit understaffed. Our sleeping room was just OK. Bathroom not very clean and water ran all over the floor from the shower. Also, there was no sound proofing, and we could hear our neighbors partying until 2:30 AM.

No hot water in the shower and the power went out several times during our 2 nights there. The disco across the street was also loud at night time. Would not recommend unless a low price is what you're after

Wifi wasn't working

We could not sleep at night due to noise from road and festival going on. Walls are thin. Property is very pretty and food at reastaurant is very good. Bathrooms need updating.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating!

Beautiful property, nice staff. But check in time was 3 PM and I had to wait 11/2 hours because my room was not ready. People who came after me got their rooms first.

The grounds were great. The restaurant was mediocre to bad. In general the staff was helpful with the exception of one young lady with an attitude problem.

Did not like the customer service which was very poor at the reception. Saw us coming with bags and noone moved to help us. There were zero info about local activities or transportation services. Tje restauran staff were more helpful but limited due to langauge skills.

Helpful and courteous staff went above and beyond. We were a last--minute booking and needed an accessible room. Arriving WAY before check-in time, our room was ready within an hour. All staff throughout our two-night stay were equally helpful .tau were equally.e Helpful.check

This is a clean hotel with very kind staff. The location is perfect for needing to be close to the airport. The pools and restaurant are great. The gun slinging security staff who works nightshift keeping us safe suggested a tip would be nice due to his job. That was not a very comfortable feeling to be asked and made me wonder if we didn't tip would we not be worthy of his efforts. The walls are pretty thin so be prepared for all noises from neighbours. The disco across the street is loud into the wee hours and seems to attract a rowdy crowd that the police were dealing with. We would stay there again if we had early flights out.

I tried to contact this property before arrival that we were going to be late checking in due to transportation and I never heard back. Once we arrived to the hotel at 1145 the front gate was padlocked shut. We wandered around to the back side of the hotel and found a way in and went to the lobby. There was no one around. We were calling out for people and then finally a man came from the back and “checked us in”. It does state 24hr front desk. Would've hoped at the minimum they would’ve answered me before I arrived so I could know where to go and what our plan was. Was an alarming arrival thinking I was going to have to sleep on the couches in the lobby.

Great stay. Lovely staff

The staff here are lifesavers! Stuck in Liberia due to weather, they made our stay enjoyable and greatly reduced our stress. Kudos to Evelyn and everyone else at this great property.

Great location

Hotel close to plaza Rosa with great pizza restaurant and other fast food chains nearby, hotel ground nice with pool and plenty of sun loungers, our room was on ground floor close to reception area, heard traffic noise at night from cars on main road, the casino is permanently closed so disappointing and misleading to call it hotel and casino hotel on both hotels.com and the best western website as the name should not include the word casino if it’s not open! Good buffet breakfast included so overall a good place to stay, we used it for 1 night as a stopping point ready to cross border to Nicaragua the next day.

Absolutely loved this stay! The location was ideal—close to all the must-see spots and easy to get around.

We've stayed here several times before our early-morning flights from Liberia Airport. A shopping centre is next door, along with several good restaurants. The hotel is on a busy highway but the rooms and grounds are quiet. The staff is always friendly and efficient - we will stay here again

Good location. Not far from the airport. Staff were very nice and gave good advice. They should have a Dj on the weekends.

Good location close to town but very noisy at night can hear music from bar next door and lots of loud traffic at night and very early in the morning

The location to the airport was the most enticing for this hotel. When booking on hotels.com, it says there is airport transfer available. After I booked the hotel, I called to schedule a transfer and they said there isn’t one available. But I can take a taxi for US$20. Considering it’s a 10 minute drive from the airport, this is an extortionate price to pay. It is close to the main road, so at night, you will hear a lot of cars speeding through the roads with their engines.

Great location for getting to the airport plus very close to downtown Liberia

Property was well maintained with an open air restaurant bar area and pool. It was cozy and serene. There was also a well maintained children's play area as well as strolling area. It was a bit noisy due to location on a main highway and nearby nightclub on weekends.

Es céntrico y tiene parqueo y restaurante, la piscina esta en excelente estado sin embargo la Habitación asignada se ve viejilla, las cortinas manchadas, la luz muy tenue, y el baño tenia cabellos en la pared de la ducha , se reportó y ofrecieron limpiarla. Utilizamos el restaurante y siento que se podria mejorar la atención, uno llega y debe de esperar que salga alguien para atenderlo, luego no ponen servilletas o agua o ni la ofrecen , el precio vs calidad es regular, pedí una sopa de mariscos y era gigante sin mucho marisco y solomente la sopa sin arroz y ni lo ofrecen ni lo tiene el plato, ni chilera ofrecen ni nada. Mi hijo pidió salchipapas y literal era una salchicha picada solamente una y un monton de papas, no era proporcional. el play esta desactiualizado, tiene todo el potencial para volver a brillar pero se esta quedando corto a los nuevos hoteles por el aeropuerto, el desayuno muy bueno.

The breakfast was dreadful. Only the pineapple was edible. Coffee not bad. Eggs tasted strange and boring gallo pinto. Bread was awful and other parties cheap and awful. The juice was watered down. Hot dogs are disgusting, serve real food. At this price, it’s unacceptable. Shower needs updating and shampoo should be provided.

Food at the restaurant was very good. Fresh crust on the calzone and pizza. We were able to watch the Football playoffs at the bar and the bar staff switched it to English so we could hear what was going on. Room was clean. Water was hot. Lots of birds in the surrounding trees and tge peacocks. Close to town so you can walk to see the sights in Liberia. The plaza next to it has many dining options. There is no Casino anymore and no airport shuttle as it says on thier website. The cat bites so don't try to pet it. Bed is very hard but I was still able to sleep. I did not hear the Disco across the street maybe because it was very windy everyday we were there.
