Hotel staff was great .The room was as far away from the front desk and entrance as possible. I wonder if this is the Expedia block of rooms. It was really small ground level with a thin window that didn't have a lock so could be opened from the outside though only about 3 inches until it hit the slide locks. The window opened to the back alley. I know the hotel was not booked up at all so not sure why we got this room. The hot tub was closed for renos though that was not mentioned when booking online.

Hot tub not working, one of the reasons for us staying there was pool and hot tub, ice machine broken, no elevator to third floor. Renovations going on, rooms we were in were in poor condition.

This property was under construction with a hazardous materials removal what appeard at the time our stay access to the lobby was limited due to construction which lead to us trucking our bags further through the restaurant entrance to get to the desk it was not committed through Expedia and barely mentioned on the website until we arrived and noticed these things we would have chose a different accommodation if we knew in advance of this situation

Very clean, updated room. Staff was polite. I was disappointed to learn that the hot tub was out of service due to the renovations as well as the elevator. Overall i was happy with my stay. I will stay again once renovations are complete.

Staff was super polite but with the renovations it was annoying to have to go to the back of the building everytime. I also wanted to use the hot tub but was unable to access the pool area at all. I would have chosen another hotel had I known this wasn't open to the public

Was here for a wedding in the area, luckily didn’t spend much time at the hotel/room. The pros; Linen was nice (sheets and towels) soft and clean. Area was okay. Room carpet seemed relatively clean. Cons; checked in at 10pm, there was a dirty wash cloth from the last occupants still hanging on the shower curtain bar. Baseboards were detached in areas and heavily damaged in others. Bathroom door wouldn’t latch closed. Here’s the big one though, when the shower/tub faucet was turned on water also started leaking from the WALL, right where the grout/caulking meets the tub surround. I took videos, showed reception at checkout. They didn’t seem to be interested. Got told a very apathetic “thanks.” And then just asked if I wanted my reciept printed for the stay. I wasn’t fishing for a discount, but even a “I’m so sorry! We will look into that immediately!” Would go a long way. Book room 284 in the tower building if you want to see water pour out of a buildings walls, I shudder to think about the mold and damage being caused.

Absolutely disgusting. I have never been in a dirtier bathroom anywhere in my life. The bathroom in our hotel room was completely filthy even the toilet had mold in it. The whole shower was black. Completely disgusting couldn’t even use it. Never again

I picked this hotel due to the proximity to stores and restaurants and my experience with Sandman Hotels has been lovely. The hotel itself is run down and the carpets in the hallway looked damp and dirty at the same time with a mildew smell. I got in my room and the shower and tub were dirty. The tiles had that black dirt in the grout and i had to wear flip flops while showering cuz i couldn’t bear to touch the tub. I boiled water using the kettle and at the spout i found what looked like dog/cat hair. The coffee bar area looked like it hasn’t been wiped and the “clean” cups are had the dirty cover papers on them. The sink drained so slowly it seemed like it was clogged The free shampoo looked like it’s been used. You can tell that someone’s opened it cuz there’s dry product all over the packaging. I’ve stayed at other sandman before and i have never seen them like this. The one in Edmonton almost has 5 star amenities. I didn’t bother calling as the rest of the hotel looked like it’ll be the same state in every room and i had a long journey. I haven’t been in a hotel where i was scared to touch anything. I had to get Lysol wipes to wife surfaces.

Our room was missing a smoke detector and just had the wires hanging from the ceiling, the tub drain plug was broken and had to be propped open with a shampoo bottle, one of the patio chairs was destroyed and unusable. The duvet also had small brown stains on it. No fitted sheet on the bed. AC unit had multiple frayed wires hanging from it

My boyfriend and I had a nice stay at the Sandman Hotel in Kelowna. The staff were friendly, and housekeeping was quick and did a great job keeping things clean. However, there were a few inconveniences — the hotel was under renovation (which we weren’t told about), the hot tub was closed, and the lighting in our room wasn’t working properly. Parking was also a bit tricky at times. That said, it was affordable and comfortable for our needs. I’d recommend calling ahead to check on amenities, but I’d stay here again for a short trip.

We needed to change rooms and the front desk staff were more than accommodating and did not hesitate to honour our request. To our surprise they moved us to the penthouse on the top floor of the tower facing Okanagan Lake with a beautiful view of the City and actually reduced our nightly rate for the extra night we stayed. Can’t say enough about the friendliness and accommodating nature of the front desk person.

The hotel is fine, the pros are there is a Denny’s attached for a real breakfast and a restobar. The cons is that this place is loud. It’s on the highway and there is a lot of street noise. I was on the 9th floor and it was still loud. People fighting at 6am, sirens, motor cycles. I don’t know if the windows just aren’t insulated but it’s just loud.

Parts of the room were recently updated. Loud air conditioner had to run constantly as i had an interior room looking into the pool area which was very warm. Easy access to buses. On a 6 lane, busy road. Handy to have the mall, restaurants close by. I would request the newer section shown in the picture

It was a good hotel, and very close to many amentities and restaurants. My main issue is the room is fairly stuffy on the ground floor and that the older AC unit does not automatically come on. Also the combined bathroom light and shower fan is very noisy when taking a shower. The bed however was comfy. The TV was such a pain to use, the channels took forever to come on and there was no way to stream Netflix/Disney+ from my phone to the TV.

The beds are not very comfortable. They were very hard and uncomfortable. The toilet in the rooms need to be updated with oval bowls and comfort height. The lighting in the bathroom is not very good either. These are things that we feel need to be upgraded.

We stayed two nights at the Sandman. Overall, it was a decent stay and much more affordable compared to other hotels in Kelowna. The hotel is still under renovation, so some areas need improvement. Our room was okay, but the bathtub wasn’t very clean, the AC was noisy, and traffic noise carried through the non–soundproof windows at night. Despite these issues, it was still a convenient and reasonably priced place to stay.

Well, where do I start? I definitely have a few complaints. First, there was a DND sign on my door(it was there my entire stay), and a man, supposedly housekeeping, enters my room, while I’m in the shower, at 8pm. As a single woman, this made me very uncomfortable and feel unsafe. What hotel ever does housekeeping at 8pm? Also who legally is allowed to enter the room with a DND sign?! Completely unacceptable! I asked for fresh sheets… they reek of men’s cologne, have the dryer sheet still in them, and a clump of hair. There was McDonalds trash sitting on the decorative counter outside the elevator for 3 days, no one cleaned it. Rooms are nothing like the pictures, outdated, nasty, mold, mangled furniture ( even in the “newer” tower where I stayed). The shower doesn’t drain, the shower walls and edges were never cleaned. Hair and muck everywhere. The water goes cold fast. The whole place is under construction, no amenities, the rooms are falling apart (the construction was not mentioned when booking). The ice machine and elevator were directly outside my room, extremely noisy. Being woken up every 30 minutes to people scooping ice was the cherry on top. Location is decent with lots of options for food, but it’s still about 15 mins from downtown($18 uber ride). Definitely disappointed.

This was probably a one off BUT: We got to the hotel at 4:30 (half hour after check in), and weren’t given our room key until 10:30 at night. The front desk staff sort of let us know that there was a problem with getting all the sheets cleaned and put on the beds. And it did seem like a hectic time for everyone. However, when trying to check in at 4:30, I was told that ‘the rooms are clean, we just need to put on the linens’ which made it sound like it would take an hour or so. The front desk staff seemed very uninformed about what was going on. More communication to the front desk (and then from the front desk to us) would have been appreciated. After asking (and 5 hours of waiting), we did receive a $30 coupon to use (to share between two people) at the restaurants in the hotel. However, it felt like this should have been offered (and offered earlier) instead of something I had to ask for. Because no one was getting rooms, the lobby was full and there was no where to sit. We were bond tired from driving most of the morning

Front counter staff were excellent. It was noisy as the room I was given faced a McDonald’s drive through and the ice machine was close. Safety might be an issue as every time I looked out the window there was homeless people hanging around.

Great location. Close to lots of eateries and easy access from the highway. They are currently doing renovations in the lobby area so it’s noisy and a bit of a mess with construction. The room in the tower is clean, comfy bed and well supplied. Only negative was the homeless people hanging out in the parking lot. As a single female traveller I chose not to use that area to park at night and opted in front of the lobby.

Although the hotel lobby is dark and dreary, our room was bright and clean. We had a suite, which was nice; however the cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom were old and worn having seen better days. The kitchen area was missing a stove, but a hot plate, microwave and toaster oven were available for cooking as well as a good size fridge for groceries. There is a lounge onsite as well as Denny’s next door, McDonalds and A & W practically in the parking lot, and for real special occasions, The Keg is within walking distance. There is plenty of shopping nearby. It’s a good hotel, apparently in the midst of renovations.

They're in the process of updating this hotel, so I've reviewed it based on it's future potential. Our room was already updated and I loved that it overlooked the pool. I also loved the attached 24 hour Denny's. So often when traveling you get to your destination late, and hungry and this was perfect!

The hotel is under renovations and all I can say is I hope they still haven’t gotten to my room yet. If they did, I hope you haven’t paid the contractor for the work. The one sink’s faucet somehow defied the laws of physics and sprayed both backwards and forwards, soaking me with either low or high pressure. Nifty water feature is you’re prepping for Seaworld but I had to wrap the border of the sink in a towel to stay dry. Bar One chicken Tacos and lemon cheesecake delivered to my door made the stay.
