Best Western Plus Buckingham International

Booked on the fact of the brand name always good standard in uk and abroad not here very poor room facilities closed down over Christmas which I found to be poor pool area wasn't fit for use really. The staff however were good and that at least made it bearable stayed a number of nights at other locations.

We stay here often because it’s always clean , comfortable and friendly. This time they were in a state of refurbishment and the Restaurants were closed but we found a lovely fish and chippery just around the corner. The service at the motel didn’t disappoint.

Hard to gain entry.. swipe card on wrong side of gate and long drive past to do U-turn access via service road .

Newly renovated room. Excellent shower and bathroom. The room was very clean and tidy. Comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant and room service were excellent. Carparking is a bit tricky due to renovation works. Overall a great stay.

We had a lovely stay. The room was large and comfortable. We had a $1 breakfast deail which was great value. Usually breakfast is vloser to $30 at the resturant for hotel breakfast, but it wouldnt be worth that. Parking at night can be limited

Hotel was a good base, friendly staff and cleaners. Room was a good size with ironing facilities and coffee/tea and a packet of biscuits usually per day ( did have to go to reception a few times as hadnt been left enough). Pool area was clean and quiet, there had been a canopy allowing shade but this was blown down in a storm. My big problem was I had a bill at the end of my stay (was there from 30.01.24 to 28.02.24). I had been under the impression that I had booked bed and breakfast I went to Perth for a week plus Sydney for 3 days whilst there, I didnt want to give my room up for those days due to Taylor Swift fever. Im just glad that I had some money left to pay the bill, I had been under the impression that my stay had b and b. I was treated quite curt when I questioned this on the desk with both reception and manager quite brusque with me. I didnt want to cause an argument but felt quite let down by the change in mannerisms by desk and manager. I will say one of the managers Harry was superb when on the desk and had quite a few conversations with him. I do think it should be made clear that it's room only basis and the restaurant for breakfast is a separate business. I dont really need/eat breakfast that much but thought as I was already ( assumed) paying for it I might as well have had breakfast. This episode did spoil my overall stay at the hotel. I'm disabled, diabetic and quite low in mood most of the time and this had negative effect right at end of a great stay.

The property was easy to get to. The breakfast was decent. I would have hoped that the laundry facilities did not have an open and close time. This made it difficult to wash clothes within the allowed “open” time. Preferable to make the laundry open 24 hrs.

This hotel is under construction. (as of January 2025, looks like long term). Office moved to a room temporarily. Construction noise begins at 7 am. It is right on a busy road. Train nearby. Staff are friendly but the hotel is older and obviously needs an ungrade. Restaurant is closed.

Polite staff and decent room. One thing though is the upgrade of the car park caused a bit of inconvenience.

Upon arrival the receptionist was fairly unfriendly. Once given our room swipe, we had to go back to reception as the room was only set for 2 but the booking was for 3, so no towels, cup or glass etc. The room could have done with a bit of a dust and proper clean, as could the bathroom. The glasses that were in the room were filthy from previous guest.

Reliably comfortable, quiet, clean updated property for regular short stays from regional Victoria.

The hotel staff were good, but the condition since we first started staying at the property 12months ago has fallen away badly the stairwell was full of dust/dirt this was a consistent theme through the property. The room was very tired and needs work, disappointing for a Best Western Motel. One worker (tradesman) spat in the bush infront of one of the rooms in front of us

Clean and convenient

I understand there are renovations but it could have been done a whole lot better. Reception was stuffed into a little room. There were bags of dirty linen left lying around everywhere for people to trip on. The parking was very tight and limited. The first room was not cleaned properly, dust and mould on everything, bed not made correctly, crockery misplaced. Cobwebs handing from ceiling. We were moved into a newly renovated room. We had one knife, no plates, heaps of glasses. The tiny fridge had no ice compartment. No microwave, a toaster but no crockery or cutlery. Parts of the room were dusty. We did get a service everyday, that was nice.

Rooms had recently been renovated and were clean and comfortable. I stayed in a room towards the back of the property and it was nice and quiet. Easy walk to Woolies and cafes/restaurants around the corner. Worth the money.

The Buckingham International has a great room, clean and tidy. Location is amazing on Nepean Highway. Close to many attractions and close to the city. My only note was about sound/noise isolation in the room. I could hear water flushing and running from the room above. Service and staff were fantastic and always available for help.

The room was extremely comfortable and the double glazing meant that despite the room facing the Nepean Highway there was no noise.

Very clean room and great staff - friendly and welcoming Very uncomfortable bed, mini fridge had a bad stench, humming/vibrating noise through wall, very noisy guests next door talking all night, playing music late and cars too noisy

The living space for a 2 bedroom unit was way too small. The very small couch could only fit 1 person. No space for luggage.

World’s smallest rooms unless you were in Japan where you’d expect the rooms to be small AF. Free WiFi is only a bonus if the WiFi works. Most of the premises is undergoing renovation which is much needed. Wouldn’t recommend

There was a problem with the bed and they resolved it immediately

Clean and tidy. Minimal seating space in the living part of the apartment. Just felt ‘tired’ here and there (e.g., reception). Problem with double booking on arrival. Staff didn’t seem too keen to help. As I’d booked vie Expedia - it was up to me!

Very comfortable and friendly staff

The room had had great facilities and the staff were excellent

Firstly, I arrived with my daughter to check in and I only had digital id, license and passport. The male at reception would not allow me to check in. I asked if I could have a refund and look for somewhere else, he said no. I asked what I am meant to do with no physical license, only digital, he said I must drive 2 hours to collect my hard copy license. Lucky for me, my husband was close by for another daughters sporting even. I had to go online, change the booking to my husbands name and he had to check in with his physical license. The man at reception could not care less and was very unhelpful and rude. The room was also a disappointment. Mouldy bathroom, smelly stuffy room, room filled with bugs, curtains cut half way, an outlook of weeds. I could not wait to get out of there, and would not recommend. It is on Neapean Hwy which isn't a positve either. I will say, once my husband arrived, he had a different male person at check in who was good. I am a hotels.com VIP, and did not receive any of the benefits I was meant to. * Also, attempted to upload photos of mould, curtains, bugs and cut curtains and was unable to....

There is a restaurant beside it if you are too tired to go anywhere to eat. Internet was good. Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Has laundry and dryer for long stay guests. Walkable distance to a big shopping mall nearby.

Comfortable convenient and good price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Pillows were rock hard. Asked for a softer one and it was delivered to our room within the hour. Highly recommend the staff.

Close to everything. A great place to stay

Great location if you’ve got friends, family or work nearby. Easy walk to rail station via cool cafes, restaurants, shops. Longer walk to Westfield mall. Older property well maintained.

The Buckingham International has a great room, clean and tidy. Location is amazing on Nepean Highway. Close to many attractions and close to the city. Great out of Melbourne city with good rail link in Highett for getting into the city. The railway station is about 1 km walk and it takes about 40 minutes to get into the city. We opted for breakfast to be included in our 2 day stay and that was superb. There is also an evening meal French cuisine additional option which looked very nice although we ran out of nights to partake.

Location is fantastic

The hotel is set back from the busy highway so heard no traffic noise at all. Just over a 5 minute walk to the Highett station which has great train service to the city in just over 30 minutes. Woolworths and good local shops opposite the station. 15 minute walk to the Southland mall which has all the shops you could wish for. Room was a good size, stayed 5 nights and slept well throughout.

Have stayed here many times but first time in their French restaurant. Food was excellent. Offered bread which you hardly get anymore and refilled it. Chocolate soufflé was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back.

Arrived tried to get in for dinner told booked out I am only one person? Couldn’t get a drink at bar? Had to walk down road to get food and drink . As a gold member this is not good enough!
