Best Western Plus The Tudor Box Hill

The internet was terrible, it kept cutting off. Home in room didn’t work, i had to go to reception when i needed something. I was a little disappointed as best western are usually so good.

The bed was nice, the room was not the cleanest. Parking was really tight

The regular cluey staff were away on checkout Sunday so it was all confused and messed up... with housekeeping cluelessly entering against permission an hour b4 checkout. Reception offered no just reason. Also , pool house was locked way early.... ,, we don't want people going in"... and ,,pool has hours,, irrelevant and insolent. Something must've happened to make them more paranoid as they have a barred grill 2nd door in front of reception since January 15th. Sad. Still quiet and tranquil. Shouldn't be allowed to degrade more.

The motel was fine. Clean comfortable room, close to restaurants, good value. Plenty of parking.

The 1-bedroom serviced apartment was a good space, clean, with comfortable beds and kitchen equipment in a safe and quiet area, but the overall stay was let down by the very poor wifi, keycards that would not work, restaurant that was closed, few dining options nearby, no housekeeping, and old outdated gym facilities with equipment that was basically non-functional. Stayed here due to its proximity to the university and the "4 star" rating but will not again.

Took a 100.00 room deposit from my account. No preauthorization. Charged the full amount. Stated I had to wait 7 to 10 business days for a refund. Lots of places either don’t charge or do only a preauthorization that drops off in a day or two. Additionally, the gym smells awful with worn out or broken equipment. The spa is so overloaded with chlorine as to be unusable.

The hotel is in good condition, friendly staff and it has pool, hot pools and sauna

The room was great, but everything else was disappointing, mainly because the staff didn't seem to care. We checked in at 3pm on a Friday, and I checked the room manual to make sure we could order dinner from room service. Went to order dinner for three hungry kids, and they told me there is no room service on Friday to Sunday - that the manual was wrong and should have been changed. The pool was freezing and the spa only works after 5pm so we couldn't use the facilities on the Saturday. Staff just didn't care.

Room was dusty with old furniture and room service was non existent during the week I was staying there. I was told I had to collect my own supplies if anything ran out and that rooms are generally only serviced once a week. The room didn't look anything like the online photos on the website. I felt cheated. At one point I saw someone's socks and pants left to dry on the bushes. There was no lift. Stairwells were so dirty. I wasn't even allowed to enter the reception at check in and had to receive the keys while the reception entrance was locked behind steel bars. No one checked my ID at check in or check out. The heat pump got noisy sometimes. The safe lock didn't work as the battery had run out so I was given a key for it.

Upon arrival, the room had a strong damp and musky smell, which immediately raised concern. After looking closer, I discovered mould growing in the carpet. The air quality was terrible, and I started feeling sicker each day I stayed there. Despite reporting the issue, I received no refund or proper resolution from the hotel. This level of neglect is unacceptable and poses a genuine health risk to guests.

The space was excellent with two large bedrooms (master having ensuite plus queen bed plus single, couch, and a desk. Nice size kitchen. Please note the apartments are opposite a busy road to the pool, spa and sauna. The apartment could do with a deep clean (mouldy grout, floors and carpets need a deep clean). Overall we would stay there again as it is spacious and modern for a competition price.

The room my 2 year old and I stayed in was pretty run down and disgusting. There was black mould in the shower, pink mould on the floor in the bathroom, the grout in the tiles was filthy, there was grime and goodness knows what on the walls and ceiling, things squashed into the roller blind and the air conditioner remote was disgusting. It’s such a shame the room was in this state and just generally run down because the outside of the building and its grounds are so beautiful and the place has so much potential! I also don’t understand why we were shoved in a room in a dark hallway when the motel seemed to be mostly empty. The reception building was also cluttered and seemed unclean with the glass doors cloudy with dirt.

The rooms are very dirty , dead flies , the staff never vacuumed or washed the floors in the 4 days we where there , and the wifi never worked

Goede accomodatie. Jammer dat er niet wordt schoon gemaakt tijdensje verblijf. Op loop afstand van winkelcentrum restaurants en station naar Melbourne.

Dirty and bathroom doors that done close broken curtain rods so you can’t close the curtain.

Great spacious room and a free upgrade.

The property itself was nice - very spacious and comfortable 2 bedroom apartment. Unfortunately very little available in the kitchen regarding plates, glasses etc. Most disappointing aspect of our stay was the customer service - every request was first met with ... 'We can't... We don't...' I think maybe they were overwhelmed with guest numbers and hopefully it's not their usual standard - but I was quite shocked at the poor service and unfriendly nature of interactions with staff. The WIFI was very poor and couldn't be relied upon. Overall, with better customer service this would be a nicer place to stay.

Bed and pillows rock hard

The room we had last night was very disappointing. There was a dead cockroach on the lounge blind and the blind in the bedroom was broken. No cushions on the couch which made it very uncomfortable. The fridge was leaking and it is lucky we didn’t slip on the pool of water it left on the kitchen floor. Wine glasses and cutlery didn’t match. There was no ice tray in the freezer. I have stayed in the apartments many times and have had a great experience each time until last night. I have recommended these apartments to many friends over the years but will not be recommending them anymore. This is such a shame. I have another booking next month so hopefully the room I get will be much better. If not, it will be my last stay there.

Fair condition; a little tired with quite few scrapes & wall dings. Staff friendly, but seemed distracted.

The room was in need of maintenance which was a shame. The laminate was coming off some of the furniture, there was a downlight hanging down, the bathroom fan did not work and a chain was missing from the blinds making it not functional. The property itself is conveniently placed. Great little cafe just a short walk away. Parking underneath with lift to apartments.

Accommodation is old and tired. Room was cold and aircon did not work properly. Could only plug in 1 electric blanket on queen bed, as other plug behind a fixed piece of furniture. Restaurant was closed for the weekend, which should’ve been notified at time of booking.

Property in state of disrepair, no way this is a 4 star hotel more like a 2 star Shower water pressure dribble, toilet seat falling off, mildew on the tiles in the shower, remote on aircon and tv didn’t function and tv had to be turned off at power point - aircon filter and fan in bathroom not cleaned No microwave, no mini bar as advertised have pictures - this property is very disappointing. How do they get this 4 star rating I would like to know.

Staff were very helpful. The room was dated but spotless. The residents of the room upstairs arrived about 11.30 pm. They left their car running for an hour for some reason. Their conversations were still going at 4.30 a.m when I yelled out the bathroom window to put a sock in it. That did quiet them down and I got 3 hours sleep. Not the motels fault I know but seems to be the norm these days.

I have stayed at this motel several times, purley because of its location.Recently, I accidently booked the wrong dates for an upcoming stay. (I entered the wrong month for a three day stay.) When I tried to change the booking, I was told there is nothing they can do about it, no changes are allowed, too bad. I'll never book this motel again. From previous stays, it's way below average, staff are inconsiderate and the room service is non-existant. There are better options on Box Hill.

I arrived after a long drive and was greeted with a smile- made me feel very welcome. Check-in was seamless. The property is a little dated however it’s very clean and amenities are well maintained. Close to Box Hill Central where you’re spoilt for dining options. My travel was work related. I’d happily stay here on my next visit to Melbourne.

The apartment was spacious and the receptionist was nice, but these are the only positive things we can say about this property. The photos are nothing like the apartment. It felt claustrophobic because the windows are opaque, meaning you cannot see out except for a strip of sky at the top. The mattresses were very uncomfortable. The pool is at the hotel across the road, not at the apartments, and 'across the road' actually means 100m along the highway, then across two service roads and a four-lane highway with no crossing. The apartment was rundown, with very damaged plaster and paintwork and very worn carpets. But the main problem was that it was not clean. We found other people's underwear in the washing machine, mould on the bedroom windows, layers of webs and spiders on the balcony, a tissue in the bedside drawer, dust on the bedroom furniture, blood stains on the bedding, grime around the bathroom tiles, food splashes on the kitchen walls, crumbs in the fridge and a layer of grease above the stove. We had to request fresh sponges, because the sponges provided in the kitchen to wash our dishes and wipe the benches looked like they were months old. There is NO housekeeping service, despite the property advertising the apartments as serviced and with a daily housekeeping service. We were expected to remove our own rubbish but the bins in the car parking area were overflowing and the area stank. Sleep in a hedge if you have to; do not stay here.

Just a short walk to all the wonderful vibe of Box Hill Central area with great food and culture.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, fluffy towels and hot shower are my main criteria and this had it all. Handy to Box Hill Hospital 25 minutes walk or bus nearby

The Best Western Plus Box Hill is a fairly convenient place to stay if you are seeking a non-city oriented hotel in Melbourne. With in an open air in-house car park and relatively close proximity to the large centre of Box Hill shops, business services, train station and the Box Hill Hospital, it makes for a very viable option. The inclusion of a pool and sauna adds to the appeal.

Das Apartment war sehr geräumig und praktisch eingerichtet. Die Küche hat alles was man braucht - einen Ofen, Herd, Mikrowelle, Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach, Spülbecken und sogar eine Spülmaschine. Ebenfalls ist die eigene Waschmaschine sowie der Trockner ein zusätzliches Plus. Waschmittel ist sogar vorhanden. Da einzig negative waren die etwas veralteten Klimaanlagen die gestunken haben sobald man diese verwendet hat. Die Lage etwas außerhalb von Melbourne ist sehr ruhig, mit der Metro ist man in 30 Minuten im Zentrum. Mehrere Einkaufszentren und Lebensmittelhändler sind in 10 Minuten fußläufig erreichbar. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden wieder kommen!

Very spacious service apartment for a low price if you book the ones in Tudor (as these guys have several different buildings). The room was new with all the amenities. It was 5 minutes walking distance to the main streets where tons of Chinese restaurants were at.

Very little conversation on registration. Restaurant closed. Seems somewhat run down. 4 star rating?

We booked because it had restaurant,had dinner on Thursday then when back on Friday and they don’t open on Friday Saturday or Sunday , not good enough , if you say you have restaurant,then put what days you are open. Not very clean,bathroom door wouldn’t close properly,would not recommend or stay there again

Poor condition. Marks on walls everywhere. Holes on wall. No tea towels in the apartment. Location is good though. Close to restaurants, shops and train station.

Staying here is good value. We had an overnight stay and the unit was clean, the bed comfortable and the shower good. Our room was two level with quite steep stairs and the living room furniture was tired/ordinary. The dining room and bar didn’t seem to be set up and welcoming - operating on an order only basis. But overall, a good stay and we'd use the hotel again.
