We stayed during renovations. Parking was inconvenient as we had to park at a local parking station about 200m away from the hotel. If you asked for Valet parking it was $70. The parking station option was fair at $17/day. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. One or 2 staff will need some training. One guy on reception looked bored and not interested in helping peple. One other staff gave me wrong guidance which wasted 20 minutes of my time. For example I wanted to get a take away coffee and was asked to go downstairs and order at the restauant. Waited for 10 minutes in the queue only to be advised that coffee is sold upstairs. Went upstairs to wait another 10 minutes as the coffee shop was menat to open at 7am but she was running late. Had to wait in a little queue but she was the only person serving customers which took that much longer. So to get a coffee took me 20 minutes. Rooms are very small and bathroom is even smaller. No doubt a legacy of an older style hotel.

Disappointed on level 1 with people can look right in the room, amenities the outdoor pool says heated it was not heated. Check in was quick but didn’t tell me anything about breakfast that I had included times etc. I had to pay for coffee as I have almond milk wasn’t included at breakfast. For how much I paid I could have stayed in the actual crown.

Great hotel with super staff and excellent breakfast. Bar was closed for private function on the one night we wanted to eat there and restaurant very expensive. Room cleaning was a little slack on one morning and no replenishment of tea and sugar or clean glasses and cups. Great for transport and river precinct. Need a smoking area outside for us lepers who still indulge and pool should be heated or inside or it is unusable for half the year. Would stay again for the convenience

We enjoyed our two night stay at Crowne Plaza. The hotel is in a great location, close to Crown Casino and DFO with trams out front and trains nearby. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating, from reception to concierge and also very professional. Our room had spectacular river views and there were many lovely louge areas around the hotel too, as well as filtered water refill stations available. The only small downside was that I don’t prefer carpet and the glass bathroom door opening right onto the bed didn't allow much privacy, as having the layout of the bathroom and wardrobes switched around, would've worked better. The gym and outdoor pool looked very nice and well maintained.

Our overall stay at the hotel was very enjoyable, with comfortable rooms and excellent service from the reception and concierge teams, who were consistently friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, two issues prevented the experience from being perfect. Firstly, despite pre-booking valet parking for a specific time to attend a wedding, we had to wait 20 minutes for our car to be returned. This caused us to arrive late and enter alongside the bride, which was quite embarrassing. Secondly, at breakfast several items in the bain-marie were only lukewarm or cold, which was disappointing given the otherwise high standard. With better coordination—particularly around valet service and breakfast food temperature—this would have been an outstanding stay. We hope these points can be addressed, as we would happily return if these small but impactful issues are resolved.

We had a pleasant stay at Crowne Plaza. We opted for river facing room and the view was amazing. The rooms were spacious, however, bathrooms did not have a door lock which was a bit inconvenient with the kids. The other major negative point was the pool. Although it was a rooftop pool and advertised at 28°C temperature was maintained. However, when I tried to swim, the temperature was extremely cold, I could barely take a dip and the kids just stayed out. This happened for two days and thus was not able to utilize this . To mention , enjoyed the pool in other hotel stays across Melbourne which were properly maintained at 28°C.

The customer service is outstanding at this property. Every staff member we interacted with went above and beyond. The room cleanliness is of a high standard. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. We will definitely stay here again.

The King room I booked would have to be the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. It was cluttered with a round glass table in a corner that was near impossible to sit at as the bed was right behind it. There was a chair which you could sit at on the wall bench, so the table is unnecessary. There were renovations going on next to our room so a very strong smell off paint. I didn't book a river outlook room, so didn't expect anything spectacular, however our view was a white wall a few meters away, so very average. The Hotel location is great however with the trams out the front. The lift to go to the main entrance was dirty also.

We had a great view of the city and the room was spacious and clean. Carpet has seen better days and the room gets a bit hot at night (not sure what was going on with the aircon); otherwise, all good. Will stay there again.

Recently stayed a night in a river view room. Room was nice enough, bathrooms seem to be recently renovated. Unfortunately we heard a lot of noise from the corridor in our room which woke us up early. Friendly staff and great location.

Staff had problems understanding English. Frustrating having to ask questions over and over until the staff could understand my questiopn. I had two issues - the first was a problem with check in as I booked a higher level room and was given the basic room then I wanted a late check out and the reception person could not understand what I was asking when I asked if there was an extra charge.

We were woken by the in house phone and knocking at the door at 1.30am stating we had requested a linen replacement for our bed. This was not the case, and I was extremely upset and unable to go back to sleep for several hours. My husband complained to management in the morning with no satisfaction or apologies. I will never stay again nor recommend the hotel to others

Second time we have stayed and both times was difficult to check in. Also we were siting in our room and a worker knocked once and entered our room without permission, he assumed no one was in the room. Will not stay there again.

Quick front desk check in and was able to check out on line. Room was super clean, bed was sooo comfy. Breakfast was $35 each, and great value for money! It had everything, and compared to other places, the quality and variety of the food went that one step extra…staff in the restaurant were so welcoming and respectful, and hardworking (no standing around for these guys). I’ll be staying at Crowne Plaza again, that’s for sure. Highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out the stay was amazing. The staff are super kind and helpful and I could not rate this place higher! Will definitely be coming back especially due to how friendly the staff were and really made me feel special. The view is also amazing

one is just 5 minutes away from the vibrant dining and entertainment area around the crown cassino with walks along the Yarra river thrown in for those who want leisurely walks (or jogs or sprints). Handy location for public transport access with a tram station just outside the hotel, and with the primary melbourne railway station close by.

The hotel is in a perfect spot overlooking the Yarra & Casino. The team member who checked me in was absolutely lovely. It's very clean, warm & welcoming. Rooms are very clean & well presented. Bed was super comfortable too. My only complaint would be that both escalators & lift were broken making it incredibly hard for my husband who has serious heart/lung issues to climb stairs. It took him 10 minutes to get up the escalator & was awful to watch him struggle. They were still broken the following morning so I was thankful we were leaving so my husband wouldn't have to endure that climb again.

The hotel it self was very good. But the surrounding area was very dirty and basically a construction zone. Pedestrian access is very poor as you have to climb narrow stairs. I would def recommend staying there but just be mindful that the area and access is pretty rough.

Staff were great, room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent and a great start to the day. Walking distance to Southbank and convenient to trams. Only negative is street access up a flight of stairs, as next door is a construction site. The lift from the strret was out of order.

We enjoyed our stay. Thought the price point was up there with such tiny rooms. Room service was quite limited. No dietary items to choose and all a bit fancy. I’m very fussy on bed comfort, but it was great. Easy walk to crown and Southbank. Easy tram ride to marvel stadium. Very quiet. Rooms are really dark in the morning for easy sleep ins.

Nice place to stay with easy access to crown casino, the Southbank shops, restaurants and the Melbourne convention centre. Breakfast was a shambles, told at check in we needed to book and the only options were 7am and 10am fir confirmed seats. We requested 8 am and were told we would be seated in an overflow area. On arrival no booking for any area existed. Don’t bother to pre book breakfast head out yo Southbank instead
