We are vegan and chef Sanjeev Sharma really worked with us to meet our dietary needs. We specifically requested low-fat vegan meals, and the chef delivered every time, including a fantastic dessert. My two recommendations for the property: update the gym, which is quite cramped and rearrange the equipment so that it doesn’t feel as cramped; clean the staircase leading from the basement of the fitness area to the pool area.

One of the best hotel in India. Staff are friendly and show a lot of care in making your stay comfortable. The pool is open until 10pm making for a wonderful way to end your day. Highly recommend staying here.

Nice hotel. But I booked a superior room with a view. Was placed on the first floor with a view of a big tree covering the entire window. Then woke up in the morning with construction work right above my room. It was so loud that the reception on the phone barely heard me. Luckily they gave me a new room on the fifth floor with a view, but the construction took place all Friday and all Saturday until 1800. Was not noticed about that. Turned out that the entire hotel was under construction. Lots of noise.

The Taj Palace keeps getting better and better…and it’s always been wonderful. The public spaces are stunning…Indian elegance at its best… and my room was state-of-the-art…with every amenity, in perfect condition and spotless. The pool is spectacular and recently refurbished with new outdoor furnishings since I was last there. Service is impeccable everywhere….gracious and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous, however, my one criticism is that getting a cup of coffee or a refill requires patience which I usually don’t have first thing in the morning!

My stay was disappointing to say the least. Prearrival - took them approximately 1.5 weeks to respond to my email request to book Transfers & Spa Treatments! It’s money a guest wants to spend at your hotel. Your membership tier clearly states Copper members have 10% off (your employee states it’s for “Platinum” members only!) Breakfast service was a disaster. With a breakfast included rate, i was able to use that only on 1 of the days. Half an hour wait to be sat down - perhaps on busier days, offer breakfast in a different outlet too. Service in general is disappointing - either the employees need more training or they just lack interest. From them telling me they prefer cash tip, to where your staff (lobby areas, spa, breakfast services, checkout counter), completely ignore you & don’t even acknowledge you (as a five star hotel - guests being greeted, acknowledging their presence is basic). Do you not prioritise your inhouse guests at any of your venues? Rooms - Smell of Mould. Iron doesn’t work. Furnitures are broken. Everything seems broken, old, dirty. I was never asked how my stay was or is going. I never received the tea i ordered after check in NOR the spa final bill that the spa receptionist said would drop off to my room! Bottom line - will be going back to Imperial or Leela in Delhi. We have such good experience from Taj Mahal Mumbai but this stay here has left a sour taste for the Taj brand.

This hotel is very nice but a bit further away from the main areas. We booked a superior room but the room we were given was very basic and quite surprised that Taj Palace had such basic rooms, probably the equivalent of a 2 or 3 star hotel. We complained and sure enough the manager apologised and upgraded us to a much nicer room. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent although a bit chaotic at times. Overall quite a lovely hotel.

Excellent staff always available to help. Proactive and courteous, it was an absolute pleasure. The upgrade for the family being the cherry on the top! The property is not new and hence some pressures around the seams were noticeable. Rooms had carpets stained from countless days of hospitality, the WC’s had cheap seats and toilets/bathrooms are in dire meeds of refurbishment.

Overall, the room and hallways lacked the maintenance and upkeep you'd expect from a luxury hotel of this caliber. It’s clear the property is overdue for a significant update and reinvention. Check-in was unnecessarily long and inefficient. Instead of a centralized desk, the hotel uses 2-3 smaller check-in tables, which, while novel, seemed disorganized. I was ushered to a smaller desk on the side, supposedly for check-outs, where I was eventually checked in. The entire process took 20-25 minutes! I was assigned a twin-bed room as a single occupant. While this setup might be suitable for families, it felt poorly matched for my needs. Check out was even longer! And I had to call out and incorrect charge for a room upgrade that I never received. Attention to detail was lacking. For instance, there was no iron or ironing board in the room—a basic amenity in most hotels of this caliber. Breakfast was another sore point. There was a wait every morning (20 minutes). Given the Taj Palace's reputation as one of Delhi’s iconic hotels, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it did not live up to them. It pales in comparison to other luxury hotels in the city.

I have been staying at the Taj for the last 10 years but my experience this time was not that great Check-in: There was a huge Que at the time of Check-in and nobody managed the Queue. People would just cut the line and get into check-in and the staff never bothered to sign in the guests who were waiting in the Queue Room - The room was very clean and spacious Room Service - This was disappointing, be it in-room dining, Laundry, or house-keeping anything that you requested had to be followed up with 2-3 reminders Check Out - This was smooth and fast Unfortunately, one of my favorite properties in Delhi is losing out on its charm because of its service.

The Taj hospitality is next to none and this property is no exception. Every staff was super helpful towards us. The chef during breakfast took special attention to us and made a custom dish with idly and podi - which was out of the world During the last day, we had food poisoning (from outside food and not Taj’s). That’s when we realised how they look after the guests. They extended our check out time, arranged doctor, made food that helped recover our tummies etc. we felt like home with how they looked after us.

In short, my stay here was exceptional. The level of service was such that I did not want to leave the hotel. I have to make a special mention for the service received from two brothers in the lounge, Vikas and Vishal. They both went above and beyond which made my stay both memorable and enjoyable. I would most definitely stay at the Taj again.

Gorgeous hotel with fast check in and out. Pretty much faultless apart from a couple of niggles; the bathroom had opaque glass so using it in the middle of the night meant the bedroom was also lit up. It's a bit of a hike to the nearest tube station.

My stay in India ended in Delhi at this great hotel. Between the location, elegance and food services, the Taj Palace is absolutely worth it. I have traveled around the world and this hotel makes my top three list! They have the best pre-dinner tea service you could ever experience and it is part of the room cost. The upper floors (I was on 7fl) have great vantage points across the deep canopy of trees that surround the hotel. Coming here after visiting the many historical sites and dealing with the typical street chaos was like nirvana! I wish I could stay longer. Since I had a very late overnight flight back to the US they were flexible enough to allow a late-checkout and I took the opportunity to use their great sauna and spa. Will return some day!

Taj offers everything expected from a 5star hotel. The one thing that disappointed us was the buffet, for such a high cost per meal the taste of the food was mediocre at best. I am only talking about vegetarian food that was on the lunch buffet. The free breakfast was really tasty and had a variety of choices. If you are staying there, skip paying for the lunch and head out as Delhi has much more food choices.

The level of service from the staff at the restaurants was so low even my kids noticed. The rooms are ok but the staff at the restaurants simply doesn't seem to care. We sat down to eat - family of 5. We didn’t get menus even though we asked several times. I had to go to the orher tables and ask if i could borrow theirs. Also a plate of borring french fries with nothing (no ketchup or anything) was 1.500 Rupees and it took 45 minutes for them to get there.

Loved my stay at this property. Their breakfast buffet is exceptional - incredibly fresh and delicious. Ashok provides the best service, he was our favorite! Their restaurants are also all soooo good. Will definitely stay at the Taj Palace again.
