In brief; The hotel and facilities are very nice but the dining restaurant gastronomic level is low and waiter service can be borderline rude. We spent 5 days at Gut Brandlhof. The reception was welcoming and helpful. The room was nice and clean but lacked a minibar and kettle. The breakfast restaurant buffet is delicious and varied. We dined together with a friends family on our day of arrival. The menu card is very short, so we assumed the quality of the available would be high. We were disappointed, the ordered classic Schnitzel was dry and unappealing. We used the wellness facilities one day around noon, but found out most facilities would open later and participation required nudity. When travelling with adolescent kids, being naked in front of them would be at least awkward. At the day of departure we decided to give the dining restaurant a second chance - big mistake. It was a very busy day in the restaurant. The waiter of the room basically served every table except ours. We were served by random staff, we had to summon for each step of service. We waited 20 min. for dining cards. 50 minutes after arrival our drinks appeared. Approx 1h after arrival our menus of chicken with gnocchi arrived, it was even more unappealing than the Schnitzel. We decided to pay the check prematurely. The waiter asked if everything had been OK. After listening to our agitated complaints, he said "Will you pay cash or by card"...

If you’re staying in Nürnberg and have a car, this is an excellent location. Free parking and a lot of spaces. Located very close to the enormous park that is stretching out east and south from Nürnberg. It was fantastic to be able to take a morning and/or evening stroll there every day. ☀️♥️ The hotel itself was excellent with a very complete breakfast. Could easily stay again.
