Smile Hotel Naha City Resort

I rarely write bad reviews. 61st time in Japan and 11th time in Okinawa. I have never ever had a problem. This time I had the shock of my life. Yes, Okinawa is part of Japan but Okinawans have none of the civilized and deeply respectful manners Japanese people have. THE STAFF WITHOUT ANY EXCEPTION were true monsters. Stay away from this hotel. All the staff hate foreigners , they are pathetic xenophobes and racists. They simply despise foreigners and take immense pleasure in humuliating and ridiculing their guests. Every single staff member was atrocious, but the worst of all was the painfully obese lady witn ridiculously painted hair . This is what happened:’1.We needed an extra pillow due to recent surgery. The staff told us the hotel( 600 + rooms!)do not have any extra pillows. They laughed and said if we paid 300¥ , they might try to find one. Can you believe this?? We had to book an extra room to get an extra pillow. 2.it was raining in the evening and we politely asked the obese angry lady to call one restaurant to make a resevation. She said NO! It is your problem that you don’t speak Japanese. We had to ask hotel guest, a real lovely Japanese lady, not an okinawan, who was very kind and heloful to make the reservation. 3.Upon our departure we asked the staff to print our boarding passes. Again, blunt refusal- we don’t do that for gayjins. We were referred to repeatedly with the derogatory term gayjins. The most pathetic monster of all was the fat angry woman.

Great place and location Rooms with king bed are barely big enough to hold two people and bags. Double check your room size before you book
