Breakfast was expensive and average greasy breakfast food, very messy eating area. Not enough staff to keep up with the number of people.

It was clean and had plenty of parking close to the entrance.

Very good hotel. Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The only complaint would be that the chlorine in the pool was very strong and made my eyes burn. Staff were great and courteous.

Pool was closed for a week in July, only 1 restaurant in the area. While the 1 bedroom suite had 2 queen beds in it, one of the beds was right up against the AC fan so when it came on it would blow right on my face which made it very difficult to sleep. I recommend moving the bed to the other side of the room if you're going to have 2 queen beds in there. Also the pool was closed unexpectedly. While I understand things come up, this impacted us negatively as I booked the hotel because it had a pool and it was July when kids are out of school. Staff was polite.

Good hotel but really bad Gym ! I

Our room was clean and comfortable, the lobby was inviting, parking was easy and we enjoyed a number of visits to Myra’s restaurant. Great food and exceptional service. My family enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet and evening appetizers and the carrot cheesecake was to die for! What impresssed us the most was the people. All staff from the front desk, to housekeeping to the restaurant were outstanding. Very friendly, professional and polite. An extra shout out to Samir who greeted me each morning at Myra’s with such a great attitude, positive energy and big smile. He clearly enjoys what he does and it shows. This is the stand out of my stay here. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn.

Pool was not working, I was locked out of room for 1 hour and then staff had to remove latch, I would not recommend this hotel

The property is not well maintained. One elevator was perpetually out of order. They dont provide water in the rooms, nor do they inform you of that when you are checking in. So if you are driving down for 4-5 hrs...make sure to ask for water bottles while checking in. Otherwise youll have to make a trip downstairs all the way to the lobby to get water. They dont even have service to g8ve it you in your room. The room phone is for decoration, noone picks up when you call reception regardless of the time of day. Cleanliness of the washroom was bare minimum considering it is supposed to be an IHG accredited hotel. Breakfast again is quite rudimentary, same everyday. Given the other Holiday Inns I've stayed over the years, this one is the least impressive.

Missing e-chargers

Out of 3 elevators, only 1 was working. The check in process was extremely slow, there was a line out the door and only 1 person at the desk. The were no towels available at the pool. Staff were slow, asked for a trolly to bring our luggage in, no one brought one even though the front desk used their walkie-talkie. The carpet in the room was gross and dirty. The amount I reserved the room for is NOT what they tried to charge me (by hundreds of dollars, not just a service fee). There are random charges on my credit card that I am currently trying to investigate ($20.07, $176.85).

First the room door lock wouldn’t work and we had to change rooms. The carpets were lumpy and I tripped a couple times and the bathtub was not clean. We had asked the cleaner to do our room, but was not done. She had misunderstood my husband.

I stayed at Holiday Inn Ottawa East and had a mixed experience. The check-in was smooth and the staff were friendly and professional, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the room itself didn’t meet expectations as it had a persistent bad odour, there was hair in the bathtub, and I even spotted a cockroach. When I raised the issue at checkout, the staff said they couldn’t do anything because I booked through Expedia. That explanation felt dismissive because regardless of how I booked, it’s the hotel that’s ultimately responsible for maintaining standards. I expected better cleanliness and accountability from a well-known chain, and I won’t be returning unless I’m assured these issues are being taken seriously.

Clean room and good customer service

The room was spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly.

Ive stayed here in 2 different suites within a week. One room had multiple stains on the carpet. Once we moved to another room there was more stains on the carpet and paint falling from the bathroom ceiling.

The hotel was not very clean. The elevator walls were streaked and dirty, and the rug in our room had an unpleasant smell. Additionally, one corner wall of the main bedroom showed water damage, which was disappointing. I was really not happy with the nightly rate given the value—it felt very deceiving.

2 OUT OF 3 LIGHTS IN THE ROOM DIDN'T WORK, AND THE INTERNET DIDN'T WORK.

The building is a bit old and not clean enough. Other than that, all is fine. Very friendly staff, good food.

The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. I will recommend this hotel to my mates 100%.

The only update required would be the A/C spot which is right next to the bed. Also the bath tubs. Other than tbat staff was amazing , very friendly and professional.

Not sure why you would the air condition unit right beside the bed but that just ridiculous. We had to out the ironing table in from of the unit to direct the air upward. That room should be a 1 bed room so that there's space between the bed ans the unit. Could not sleep and we were there for 2 nights. We also advised that our tub would not drain while we showered and no one fixed it.check in took 37 minutes because there was only one clerk and she was dealing with a comolaint on the phone. Would not come back to this propety.

Two queen beds are wonderful. But not quiet enough. Most of the time you can hear the noise of closing doors , chatting loudly outside the room

The overall stay was good. However my one and only complaint was about the response time on issues. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights. On our first night I noticed that the toilet wasn’t quite flushing correctly but I didn’t think anything of it. When I woke up the next morning and went to use the restroom, after trying to flush the toilet over flowed all over the bathroom floor. As soon as this took place I called the front desk to make them aware and to send a maintenance person to fix the problem. The lady on the phone was very nice and apologetic about the situation and assured us someone was on the way to fix the toilet. 40 minutes goes by and no one came. I grew impatient and went to the front desk directly to see if anyone was coming to fix our toilet. The gentleman at the front desk seemed very confused when I told him about my issue. As I told him I’ve had to come use the lobby bathroom a couple times because our toilet wasn’t working he very quickly found someone to come upstairs with me and fix the issue. I appreciate them coming to resolve my issue, I really would have loved some sort of compensation and urgency towards this issue. The confusion on the gentleman’s face at the front desk made me feel like my issue wasn’t a priority to the hotel. Other than this small hiccup, we had a great stay. It was close to a grocery store for snacks and a short drive to downtown Ottawa.

Staff very unfriendly,manager Rahul is not willing to help there customers Just needed to make a change on the second night of my stay,didn't ask for a refund just a change of date and would have paid any difference in price or penalty ,the excuse was I didn't give him 24 hours notice hotel policy

Upon check in they did not have a room available even though we had a confirmation email. Took about an hour at 830-9pm at nite to finally get a room.

We stayed for a hockey tournament. It was a convient location right off the highway. Lots of dining and shopping near by. The room it's self was a good size and clean. The staff were nice and helpful.

The location is right next to the highway and a few minutes' drive from downtown Ottawa, very cost-effective and convenient compared with the hotels in downtown. However, the ventilation system is a little bit noisy because of the years it has. Plenty of parking.

I give my stay 5 stars, BUT this is at best a 3 star hotel. It’s an older building they’ve put lipstick on. Having said that, if you need something that’s decent, it fits the bill and is very easy to get to off the highway. Older reviews mentioned bad drainage in the bathtubs, I was on 9th floor, it was good. Staff I interacted with was friendly. Breakfast buffet is a decent value if you get the discount and buy after you check in. The hotel price was sort of expensive for what you did get… but the parking was free so that basically offset the higher room price. Ac was ice cold and the room was quiet. Overall, I’d come back again.

Mall across the street full of shops and services. Convenient to highway and public transport

We have stayed here a few times and always please with cleanliness and staff. Location is nice with St.Laurent Mall across the road and Lonestar next door, we didn’t have to drive anywhere! Uber would be cheap to downtown as well.

Room was spacious and clean. Enjoyed using pool and fitness centre. Restaurant very disappointed, unable to cater to my needs. I cancelled my breakfasts for the week as you were unable to cater for gluten-free. Very poor for such a big chain. No gluten free bread, no porridge, no effort to source some for later in the week. Planned to use restaurant for breakfasts and dinners but had to go elsewhere. Staff weren't helpful.

Buffet breakfast is well with the little extra. Facilities clean, rooms well appointed and comfortable. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast service was excellent.

The facilities were very well kept, clean and bright. Samir was our server for breakfast and we didn’t want for anything. He was fantastic!

The hotel was excellent easy to get to where we were going. The staff was helpful. Only issue was the buffet breakfast. It was a normal continental breakfast nothing really special except for the steep cost. I was expecting a greater selection of breakfast items. I wouldn’t recommend buying the breakfast buffet but would go out instead.

The room was clean and comfortable. The service i the dining area was exceptional and breakfast was great with a lot of selections. I'd recommend having dinner there as well. The food was good and was less expensive than surrounding restaurants. Beyond that, the service was great.
