Riu Palace Paradise Island - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Drop your dress code, this is a beach resort & you aren’t the Four Seasons. Plus you impose it on some people and not everyone? Fail. Your entire dinner reservations system/idea is terrible, you can only book a res 2 days out, no more and they are all taken, EVERYDAY. Not cool, get rid of that. What’s the point of all inclusive if I can’t eat at any of your restaurants? So I’m basically just paying for 1 buffet everyday then. NO restroom at the beach, no restroom at the bar, no restroom at the pool, no restrooms at the restaurants- 1 lobby bathroom ONLY. Unacceptable. Especially if you’re on the sand, having to run all that way every time you have to go is ridiculous. You need staff elevators. Smelly, bulky trash bins riding up with guests is a big no-no. Food was good, (worth mentioning the banana cake was so good), staff was mostly friendly, walking distance to Atlantis. Rooms need maintenance, poor repair and NOT while the guests are staying in the room. Had a full on big size workers paint cart that goes up and down the side of the building parked outside my balcony all day, for multiple days. Couldn’t even sit out there or open my curtains. Patio door would not stay closed (and this was in room #3 cuz they all had issues.) Please get some tall trees to block that hideous eyesore that is ruining all of your superior ocean view rooms. I’m looking at the trashed, dirty, maintenance backend of an abandoned Atlantis building with workers & noise all day and night.

A relaxing all-inclusive perfect for extended weekend or weeklong stay. Food and service was terrific and the nightly entertainment was simply exceptional. We went off property twice with help of onsite tour company to get a feel for the island and enjoyed that as well. Only complaint is that the gym is not air conditioned so plan for outdoor workouts.

This resort was beautiful but I’m not sure if I would stay here again. For it to be an adult only resort I am not sure why just about everything shuts down at 6. We have to be out the pool by 7, turn your towels in at 7, can’t get a towel after 7. We went down to the beach since by the time we came down the pool was closed, then got yelled at because we tracked water inside, like we were children. When we were told we had 10 minutes until the pool closed (6:50) on another day we asked why did the pool close so early, and he just told us we now have 9 minutes. I guess they expect everyone to go to bed before the sun goes down? Our room was miserable. There is no exhaust and it was constantly hot and humid. The air conditioning was a joke, but the view was great. The food was pretty good, the servers were very nice from Sunday to Tuesday, then the D squad came and it was questionable. Iris was amazing, she was there our first couple of days. My brother and boyfriend were told they needed sleeves to eat at the buffet. Not the fancy restaurants, the buffet, but women had their entire butt cheeks out, or in swimsuits with sheer cover ups and that was ok. Men shoulders no, woman butt cheeks is a go! I have very mixed feelings about this place, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again.

Good food. More booze than anyone can drink. Beach was very nice except for the vendors where non stop yelling jet ski for rent. Steaks not the best cut and on cheap side. But lots of others things to choose from. Gym needs a face lift with better equipment. Windows need to be cleaned. Entertainment on stage not great.Over all would go back.

It was not worth the money they charge. The resort has limited availability for everything - restaurant seating, spa availability, etc. The credits they promise on Expedia come with a catch, its discount coupons that only apply if you spend an exorbitant amount on the services to begin with. The resort offers 24x7 room service but the food they send is stale and yucky. The pools close at 6pm (swim up pool closes even earlier at 5pm). Even the towels you need to make sure you return to them on time or you get charged $25 per person. RIU tries to come off as a fancy resort where you would feel special but in reality it is just an overpriced hotel with amenities that don't even match a 4-start one. Save your money and book a cheaper hotel near downtown Nassau. The food over there is nicer, moving around town easier, and you start off with low-expectations so you don't get disappointed once you get there.

Very dated broken gym equipment

The property needs some attention. The building is obviously being painted, which is an eye sore. The pool closes at 6pm. We are adults had qe known thia prior to coming,we would have selected another property. I have looked in several olaces and no where does it inform guest of this policy. Which is false and misleading advertisement. I would like to know how my concerns and disappointment will be addressed. The resort did have a 24/7 bar Calypso that provided nightly entertainment. We came to enjoy the beach and swim up pool, again being asked to exit the pool at 6pm was a huge disappointment to our choice of properties. We did not get our monies worth on this selection.

If you enjoy an all inclusive resort vacation, odds are you'll have a good time at the Riu. A few things to keep in mind. There are only a few bars on site and only 1 available in the evening. It's a smaller resort. Which is lovely if you don't want to feel surrounded by people. The staff were incedible. Helpful and fun. The buffet was quite good. Lots of options. The area is amazing. Safe to go for a stroll off site. You may find the rooms in need of a little TLC. But overall, they are good.

Restaurants were only open every-other night. Staff not very friendly. Swim-up bar area w/activities was fun. Quiet evenings after pools close.

The facility is not very clean. The food options are very limited. It's difficult to get a reservation and the food at buffet is better than the restaurants. They were pressure washing the building to paint and they had paint chips flying into the pool area and onto the beach. Getting paint in your drinks. Room had a balcony only 3X3. Noise from air-conditioning unit was so loud you couldn't even sit on the balcony or hear the ocean.

Everyone was very helpful and efficient and cheerful. The resort is kept very clean and well maintained.

Very disappointed with the RIU. I did not get the full ocean view room I paid for. Staff at front desk could care less. My room was dirty and every chrome fixture was rusted. Front desk offered me a cleaner room not much cleaner for and extra $120.00. I have no choice but pay it. It was still a partial ocean view facing the public beach with trash. The staff didn't not care and did not try to make it right. We just dealt with dirty blankets and the run down room. Other staffers told me it is a common complaint and the hotel has gone down.I will never go back.

The minute that we got to our room we found 2 cockroaches. There were cockroaches in the hallways of the hotel. The hotel is very old and dirty.

My travel agent has tried to connect with the hotel numerous times to come up with some type of resolution but conveniently the hotel does not answer their phone or respond to emails. We checked in on November 13, 2025. The condition of the hotel was disgusting. The smell of sewage was unbearable from the minute we walked in, the room was muggy and smelled of mold, smell in the room Was impossible. The alcohol tasted like gasoline, and the food was almost uneditable. We checked out of the hotel the same day in hopes of coming to some type of conclusion with our travel agent that they would be able to obtain some type of reimbursement for our four night stay. Again with no success, we were not going to stay at this hotel for the conditions that it was in we ended up checking out and headed to the Atlantis, which is a three minute walk And then we enjoyed our visit to Bahamas. I will never recommend this hotel extremely disappointed in the customer service.

The room was spotless, and the property overall was always kept very clean. The staff was very professional, the beach was BEAUTIFUL, the food was DELICIOUS, the bed was super comfortable, the shower was hot, the room was cold, the entertainment was great. This property is 10 out of 10!!

Room was ok condition. Very outdated and we didn’t feel it was clean. Some staff was nicer than others.

I’ve stayed here twice before. Once before COVID (2019) and the second time in 2025. I’ll admit the first time I stayed I had no issues but I was doing a lot of excursions and not at the resort 24/7. This second time around, I wanted a chill vacation where I could rot on the beach and I was able to get that but I noticed a lot more. The rooms are very outdated and are filled with ants. The food isn’t really bad but it’s not great either (even if you book at one of their restaurants). I did see a specific type of bug (I think y’all know what kind I'm talking about) that was crawling around in the buffet area. Overall I think it’s just a very outdated hotel (can’t even call it a resort because it’s so small) and I personally think that RIU should update this specific location. Most RIU branches are a hit or miss and this was a miss for me. However, I do want to mention that the staff is super friendly and accommodating which I really appreciate and they try to do a lot of day time activities to keep the energy up which I also like. If you’re looking for a place just to sleep and want to eat and drink anything and everything, this probably would be a great option. But if you want to stay on the resort property and rot on a beach (which I will also admit was beautiful and well kept) like me then I would say to look elsewhere.

There are bed bugs and also there we’re roaches crawling around the food in the Buffet area ,also in the restaurant , they were very fancy but definitely dirty made me feel as is the only thing good was the all inclusive drinks. They get 2 stars out of me thanks for the stay

Staff was courteous. Took dirty towels and didn’t leave clean. Had to ask. Doorstop was broken off and screw sticking out. Asked to replace. They were scraping outside of building and paint chips were all over the balcony.

View from our room was spectacular. Did not like the red light blinking from the smoke detector (I Guess that is what is was) as it was always in our face while sleeping. The room was also cold and the noise from the generator outside was very loud. Most of the staff were courteous. The speakers in the disco room were extremely loud and deafening so we could not stay in there.

my room on the second floor gave me a great view of the roof of the hotel lobby no view of the ocean.

Ocean view was terrible with a view of a roof. We discussed this with the manager Terri and she was extremely rude and would only offer us to pay more per day for a different room even though we paid for ocean view ... she stated we don't have the "shitiest room" Another person told Terri her room was cold and that she was being treated for cancer and it would help if her room could be warmer.. Terri then proceeded to say "you look healthy to me" The balcony was so small with only one chair. We could not even sit out. The toilet ran every 1-2 minutes even after putting a work order in. I have pictures and videos if Expedia would like to see them. This was not even the busy season for this resort so please beware. We saved up for this trip and was so looking forward to it... I could not wait to get back home.

Great beach and food! The bed only comes with two flat pillows and a thin sheet. The rooms are air conditioned so much that the nights were freezing and there were no extra blankets/comforters or pillows. Also if you are on the 15th floor, only 1 elevator can be reached so the waiting times for it are brutal. Just some helpful feedback for others!

It was a nice place and the staff were friendly. They need new air conditioning and clean air conditioning filters so the rooms won’t smell so bad and musty.

We didn't have hot water during our stay and the bed was like sleeping on a rock. The staff and food selecrion were fantastic.

Upon arrival check-in did not go smoothly at all. There was a discrepancy with the reservation ( which I take accountability for) however when trying to figure out the best way to rectify the situation management was slightly insulting and threatening (there was mention of security which was unwarranted and added to my frustration). Furthermore, the staff made incorrect assumptions about our room assignments, shouldn’t the staff ask guests about their preferences rather than make assumptions…..this was the second insult and we haven’t even gotten to the room yet. Now that we are finally able to check-in and go to the room the view is not as expected. The room was listed as an ocean view not a partial ocean view. These hotels play on wording so be VERY careful with the room you choose. When trying to change the room I was told they can’t control the space next to building (rude). Ok fine but at least be upfront about the room. Nowhere in the description did it say PARTIAL view. On a positive note, the best area for this hotel was the pool and with the exception of management most of the staff was polite and friendly. Unfortunately not my best experience….and I travel quite often.

Me & My sister stayed here for 4 days for my birthday. One of the best resort i’ve been on. The staff was amazing. I want to give a special shout out to Warren, Travis & Davian for their hospitality and their sweetness ❤️ We will be here again!

The staff was amazing! They were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Couldn’t ask for better service.

Staff was excellent made the trip enjoyable

The only reason I give this hotel any credit at all is because of Lamaro, the amazing buffet girls, Shanquell, and Eddy — they were the only people who showed us kindness and professionalism during our stay. Unfortunately, Kenson and Denisha completely ruined my best friend’s birthday with their unprovoked rudeness. They were so mean that we actually got up and left the restaurant mid-dinner, which says a lot since we had originally chosen to eat at Riu Paradise Island instead of Atlantis because Lamaro made our previous night’s dinner so fun and memorable. Thankfully, Lamaro and the buffet girls went out of their way to sing “Happy Birthday” to my friend the next day, but the damage was done. We felt so uncomfortable and disrespected that we would never return to this property. To make things worse, our bags weren’t delivered for over an hour after check-in. We called three times and eventually had to go downstairs and get them ourselves. We’ve stayed at other Riu resorts, including Riu Montego Bay, and the difference in food quality, service, and decor was shocking. Paradise Island was nowhere near that level — the service here truly needs improvement. Also the bathroom water smelled terrible. Like the water from the pipes including the shower, sink, etc smelled like fish or something rotten.

The staff was very attentive all throughout the facility and extremely friendly.

This was not one of the good RIU hotels I have been into. The staff was not friendly and sometimes they were rude. Either they are not happy or they need training how to smile a bit more.

I like the stretch of beach and proximity to the marina and shops at Atlantis.

Great location in grand Paradise. close to Atlantis Hotel-Casino. Very good food and Service. Beach very Nice. We liked very much my wife and me.

The staff was amazing , and the hotel was very clean. Food was very good, although the restaurants booked fast and we were only able to book one evening. The pools were great to hang out at during the day. The nightlife at the Calypso bar was half decent. Great location, but the beach was red flagged for the duration of our stay, shame we couldn’t wade in the ocean. The in-room phone did not work and neither did the room safe. The place is definitely due for a remodel.

The RIU is a beautiful older property on Paradise Island. Things we loved- The food overall was very good, both buffet and specialty restaurants. We had zero issues making reservations and did so the first night. The beach was a great location and beautiful water. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The pools were very nice and clean. You can be in downtown Nassau within 10 min-longer if you choose the ferry and have to wait. But it’s a great location and you can walk to the ferry from RIU. Things we did not love- Beach chairs and umbrellas are old. They need to be updated. As well as the towels used for the pool and beach. The beach “staff” are not helpful. They will not set up your chair, table, or umbrella for you. They will sit there and watch you struggle to do it. On the beach you will get hassled daily by locals selling EVERYTHING. From timeshare opportunities to wooden toys/beads/hair braiding, etc. They are friendly and will move along if you say no. But they will bother you all day. Also on the beach-the cruise ship ppl will utilize this beach-or the public one next to it-a lot. And there were a lot of them each day. The rooms desperately need to be updated. They are small and cheap looking. They look like a hotel room at best. The A/C, water, and toilets frequently have issues. They did fix those issues quickly. They also need more beer options. No USA beer.

Considering I've stayed at a RIU property in Panama and Aruba, this location is no where near as nice. We did enjoy our trip, but the property is rather small and the chipped paint on the building, and tattered rooftop, not failing to mention the vacant resort next door that is a complete ruin, are total eyesores as you look out your balcony. You have to crop pictures to the best of your ability. I did appreciate the proximity to the beach, clean pools, and watersport excursions offered on the beach.

Food options were good on the property. The pool area was very nice. Property was clean. Entertainment was very good. Staff was nice except when checking out the young man was not sociable or friendly at all. The helpers at the door for checking in and out were great! The areas that need improvement are house keeping for the rooms. Our room had no soap and when housekeeping came they filled the container with some watered down solution. House keeping was requested and did not arrive until after 3:30 even though they were on our floor that morning. Safe did not work. This resort has a very very limited beach area for your chairs because other properties exclude you from placing your chairs on their property. But walking the beach is great. You will need transportation because there is nothing around this resort.

The room we were checked in was smelling. The a/c was so noisy that we called front desk and complained . The mechanic upon inspection reported to change the room. We were moved to another room nothing different. Next morning we reported to manager who paid no attention about our problems. The food is horrible and can’t eat . It is cold like from refrigerator. We even complained to the staff and they said it is as is. No food warmers. We spoke with many guests and all had same opinion. I don’t understand how people manage to stay for so many days. I found difficult to spend another day.

Overall our stay was great; the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly and we loved our experience. We booked a typical suite and were upgraded to a honeymoon suite when we arrived. I'm not sure what our typical room would have been like, because the honeymoon suite didn't seem that big. It was nice, but the furniture and room finishes were a bit dated and the bedding was minimal. The bedroom and bathroom were still comfortable, and we had a great balcony view of the ocean. The food at the buffets was decent, some items were better than others. Between breakfast, lunch and dinner the food options changed enough each day that you could try different things and mix it up. At the end of most meals we both said that the food was fine, nothing that really stood out as really good and nothing was terrible. The specialty restaurants were another story. During our 6 night stay we were only able to try two of them which was incredibly frustrating. You have to book reservations through their Rui app which gave us consistent problems throughout the week. Many nights the app told us that reservations weren’t available so we really missed out on those. The two we went to were really good but we wanted to try more of them. The nightly entertainment was bizarre, sort of like a bad Vegas dance show each night. The dancers were talented but overall the shows were corny and we wished that there was more to do on site in the evening.

The room and hotel were very clean, atmosphere was also fantastic. Making reservations was kind of a pain in the ass, But the buffet was terrific so not so bad. Overall we had a great experience

Staff was fantastic. Food was less than stellar. Somehow enjoyed the food at the buffet more than in the restaurants (except tengoku, that food was really good)

Very nice property. Buffet was always good but the steakhouse was not so great. Tenderloin was not cleaned properly and the lobster was dry and not even served with drawn butter.

We had a great time at Riu in our honeymoon. Great food! Beautiful beach and amazing drinks. 24 hour bar, the buffet is amazing and also has 4 restaurants. Nice fitness facility too. Will definitely come back!

Lots of good food and drinks were strong. Theres buffet and jerk chicken available everyday, if you want one of their nice restaurants on site you have to reserve a couple days in advance. The activities looked fun , even though me and my wife didn't participate in any, it was fun to watch and could see everyone enjoying themselves with the positive vibes. Most of the staff are all polite and friendly. We enjoyed watching the rock station show at the stage in the bar. Overall very positive experience since this was our first all inclusive vacation and first time in the Caribbean. We normally like to travel on our own for the last 6 years in asia.

The entire hotel needs a renovation, from painting the entire exterior to redoing the tile floors outside by the pool. The specialty restaurants were not available for reservations even though we inquired prior to our stay if advanced reservations were required. The buffet food was good and the staff were great.
