Loved this place . So comfortable and staff was very helpful. Rooms were very clean and bed is super soft. Location was close to the cruise pier and about 1.5 miles from Harpa Music hall and downtown areas. It was a beautiful walk along the oceanfront. Breakfast was nice with several options. Will definitely stay at Reykjavik Grand again.

We stayed at the Grand a day before leaving on a cruise. Staff very rude, not helpful at all. NOT FRIENDLY! I’m going to list the reasons for 1/2 star rating. 1. Rooms run down. 2. No bellhop or assistance from any staff. 3. Phone in room didn’t work. 4. Towels were so used and thin. I would not wash my car with them. 5. Shower leaked all over the floor, no caulking at all. 6. No wash clothes. 7. Went to my sister’s to call the desk for more towels at 1500 hrs and no housekeeping. Rude staff member said come get them at the desk if you want them. My sister’s room wasn’t any better. 8. Bathroom smelled like rotten eggs. Heavy sulfur smell. The only thing I can say that was decent was the comforter on the bed and the room was very quiet. So bottom line I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and it wasn’t cheap.

Expensive by our standards but we expected that in Iceland. It was very clean, very well located. The staff was very helpful. We stayed here before and after our tour and were very pleased.
