The hotel was overhauling their Elevator/Lift for a long period of time. I was not made aware of this situation prior to check-in. The first floor was actually on the second floor, so no rooms on ground level. 22 steps between each floor being a older/historical building. I would not have stayed had I known. No offer of discount or an upgrade due to no elevator/lift. Bathrooms extremely tight. Could not open shower door all the way without it hitting cabinet. Great, powerful shower, but drain could not keep up with amount of water, so always water exiting shower onto bathroom floor. Hallways not vacuumed daily and showed.

Overall, I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Unfortunately the lift was broken during my time there, but staff went out of their way to help as much as they could with taking luggage up to and down from rooms. I booked a Micro Queen room, and would say this is a small room. If you are staying for a weekend or short business trip, I think it is fine. I was staying for 2 weeks, and for a fairly long trip like this, I would probably recommend going for a bigger room. There was limited space to relax, and nowhere to hang clothes really, although hangers and some wall hooks were provided. I could hear everything going on in the corridor as my bed was so close to the door. I had a few other issues with the room. The coffee machine initially kept leaking water, but this was resolved after reporting it. The fridge was also switched off at the mains, and I didn't realise for 3 days, and was using milk stored in the fridge. Luckily, I didn't get unwell, but I would say just check the fridge is on at the start of the stay! The cleanliness was not always completely up to my standards, and varied a little from day to day. When I first went into the room, it seemed quite dusty, the carpet as well, and there was a caterpillar hanging from the television! But this improved as my stay went on.The best aspects were that the bed was very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, and the lobby was a lovely space to relax, with excellent prices for their drinks, and a Happy Hour every day.

Great location, unfortunately there was no lift service as they are upgrading. This may not be a problem if you were aware at time of booking. I can use stairs but for many others it could be very difficult, my daughter was travelling with very heavy sporting equipment, the porters did help but it was extremely difficult. There was no written information on facilities available in the room ,At the end of our first day l received a email with basic information .perhaps closing down until these major works are completed would save the hotels reputation

The lobby's art deco vibe was charming. Loved that they have a water station with both flat and bubbly water available 24-hours a day. After walking around Sydney's heat, it was nice to have a cold glass of water before relaxing in our room.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the hotel is old and in disrepair. Elevator not working and a long walk from the top of the stairs to the furthest room. Public Wifi connected but no internet access and the TV required a lot of work to gain access to streaming services. Stains on the upholstery, walls and tables were quite off-putting.

Rooms are a decent size, especially if you are just there for the evenings - bed was wonderful! The elevators are currently undergoing maintence, which the hotel contacted me about after i had made my booking. The hotel was able to accomodate my request for a lower floor to limit the impact. Staff were very helpful and carried my heavy bag up upon checkin, and also brought it down when i had requested assistance on checkout. Overall, good experience! The only thing i wished for was chromecast or some other way to link up to the tv in the room.

A nice little hotel, rooms small but still decent, but very poor housekeeping which left me feeling very disappointed and would only recommend staying if it was for one or two nights. Out of a 9 night stay, I felt like I only had 1 day that housekeeping did an acceptable job. And the lift/foyer area really needs a good clean, every surface was very dirty and wasn’t touched the whole time I was there.

Very dirty, rundown rooms, photos doctored to look better. The sheets had stains and the entire room was filthy--covered in dust and dirt, random trash like old coffee pods. There are no closets and hardly anywhere to hang things. Housekeeping won't replace anything unless you ask, including toilet paper. I had to awkwardly go downstairs to reception to ask for toilet paper in my pajamas. There was no body wash in the shower my entire 5 days there--housekeeping just didn't bother to refill it.

My room had a very strong cleaning smell and it emanated throughout the floor. It was quite toxic. There was hair on the floor always and it wasn’t my hair. The strong cleaning smells to mask the sewage smells was very disgusting and off putting.

My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room we were given was the noisiest room I have ever slept in my life. It genuinely felt like we were sleeping outside on a busy traffic street. We asked the hotel staff to move us to a quieter room, but they were unable to resolve the issue. The cleanliness of the room was also far below acceptable standards. I am allergic to carpet mites, and I could feel symptoms as soon as I entered the room, which indicates the carpets were not properly cleaned. To make things worse, we woke up to find a cockroach running inside the room. Overall, this stay was far from comfortable, and I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

We had 6 rooms booked for national board members travelling into Sydney and more than half had a terrible experience. We booked above average rooms and they had stains on carpet, furniture and bedding. The desk staff was so apologetic and changed the sheets himself for our international guest. Then there were bugs in the bathroom. We called after the first 2 has a bad experience and still others arrived with similar views. The cleaning needs an overall as we were very disappointed especially when some nights were nearly $400 per night.

Staff were great. I got in late and went straight to my room. After showering and hopping into bed I was immediately itchy there was hair through the sheets and just felt like there were bugs. I got bites on my legs and ankles in the morning I spoke to staff however nothing was offered. I spent the next few days applying creams etc. Before leaving I completely stripped the bed so it would be changed fully.

The “King size” bed was a double bed and a single bed pushed together. No space to hang clothes and a bit cramped for 2 people. The shower has only an overhead outlet, shower cap required if you don’t want wet hair. However everything was clean and tidy we got a good night’s sleep and the location was perfect for us.

We enjoyed our stay - the staff are wonderful. The room is small but met our needs the bed extremely comfortable. The letdown for us was we had a balcony room and the noise from the street is terrible. The hotel really needs to invest in double glazed windows and doors on this side of the hotel Location is excellent and very walkable

The room was comfortable, with a couch and king bed, but there were some odd things too. A kitchenette with crockery, glasses and cutlery but no washing up things or a bin. The other frustrating thing was I had signed in to one of my streaming services but the hotel's internet connection kept dropping out. Someone fixed it once but it kept happening again and again so in the end I just gave up.

A decent sized room, with an extremely crammed in toilet. There is no bath, only a shower. The overall cleanliness of the toilet was not up to par. The room had a nice ambiance but the it was very loud. The lifts were not working, and this added to the difficulty.

Love the location, we stayed to attend a show at The Capitol Theatre which is only a short stroll away. The micro room is indeed tiny - luckily we only had one small suitcase Beds are extremely comfy This was our 5th stay at The Veriu

Smaller room without a place to keep luggage open. Zipper in mattress cover right where one sleeps in the bed. Location not great if you’re in Sydney to do the tourist thing - about a 20 min walk to any major attraction. Incredibly friendly staff and clean rooms.

The so called "King" room was, in fact, two single beds with single matresses pushed together. It was comfortable, but not as advertised. The room had no enclosed hanging space, simply a hook on the wall for a few coathangers and noisy floorboards. The bathroom (no bath, just a shower) was so small that it was difficult to actually use it without bumping into things. The BR could have been larger, as there is ample extra space available, but a poor design outcome prevailed. Finally, the hotel's small, slow, dirty, creaking, solo lift has to be seen to be believed. It works, but only just. The hotel's nicely arranged bar and reception area on the ground floor is its best feature.

Staff was really wonderful and helpful. Aaron, Shou, and your manager when I was checking out were super helpful and kind. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful each day. Even the maintenance worker from Tunisia went out of his way to assist when he saw I needed it. The rooms were clean, staff helped with bags and beverages upon arrival, and the bed was very comfy. On-site restaurant is pretty decent too.

PRO: Good location, quiet, front desk staff were excellent. CON: Needs a refresh, carpets old could use a fresh coat of paint. Housekeeping was a bit slack, often forgot things like replacing coffee creamers, replacing empty tissue boxes, vacuuming floors. CON : I was booked for nine nights and had to cut short by one night. Hotel would not refund (not even partially) for the night I did not stay there. Business travellers especially beware !

We had the worst room I’ve seen in all our many trips to Sydney. There was absolutely nowhere to lay out a suitcase in the room. No space at all. It wasn’t cleaned properly, and the bathroom even had wee stains on the floor around the toilet. Also very noisy form the road it was next to. After our apartment and a bunch of others lost power during our stay, instead of simply resetting the fuse switch, they insisted on waiting almost a full day for an electrician to come and do it for them. Eventually we gave up and asked to be moved to a room that had power. The new room has a little more space for suitcases, but was also dirty, and bizarrely missing some basics like two pillows, a range of towels, and tea bags. Reception gave us these but never apologised for the power outage, or for the missing amenities. Some of the staff were nice, but others grumpy and unhelpful. We would not return here.

I really enjoyed my stay at Veriu Central. The staff were wonderful plus it’s a funky place in a very convenient location. Two small annoyances. The TV and I had a bit of a battle - most likely operator error! - and I would have loved a face cloth. Overall it was outstanding.

Fanns en liten bänk med kaffemaskin och ett kylskåp i alla fall på vårt rum. Läget är bra, nära till allt. Det är dyrt med frukost även om gästerna hade 10 % på cafét.

Overall, I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Unfortunately the lift was broken during my time there, but staff went out of their way to help as much as they could with taking luggage up to and down from rooms. I booked a Micro Queen room, and would say this is a small room. If you are staying for a weekend or short business trip, I think it is fine. I was staying for 2 weeks, and for a fairly long trip like this, I would probably recommend going for a bigger room. There was limited space to relax, and nowhere to hang clothes really, although hangers and some wall hooks were provided. I could hear everything going on in the corridor as my bed was so close to the door. I had a few other issues with the room. The coffee machine initially kept leaking water, but this was resolved after reporting it. The fridge was also switched off at the mains, and I didn't realise for 3 days, and was using milk stored in the fridge. Luckily, I didn't get unwell, but I would say just check the fridge is on at the start of the stay! The cleanliness was not always completely up to my standards, and varied a little from day to day. When I first went into the room, it seemed quite dusty, the carpet as well, and there was a caterpillar hanging from the television! But this improved as my stay went on.The best aspects were that the bed was very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, and the lobby was a lovely space to relax, with excellent prices for their drinks, and a Happy Hour every day.

The bed and pillows were great. The milk in the fridge was a lump of glue and obviously not been checked. I would think twice about staying again unless the furniture was removed.
