Although the street address is on a busy road, the guest rooms face a quiet back street, which only become noisy around 8:00AM. I really appreciated the cleanliness of the property, because I suffer from a dust allergy. The area is delightful, and the Mater Hospital is only a short walk away. There is a good bistro at the North Sydney Hotel on the corner. Only drawback is that on-site car parking at the Hotel costs $35.00 per day (which appears to be a standard all-day rate for nearby carparks). However, there is ample on-street parking in the road behind the hotel, which is unlimited between 6:00PM and 8:30AM.

This was great! Clean, comfortable and exceptional Customer Service. The rooms are fairly old, but have everything you need. I will stay again! It is a nice easy walk into North Sydney. Also the gardens are gorgeous! It was lovely to sit outside and enjoy them!

Charming and quirky, yes, but this a basically an old wooden building and that means creaky floors and no insulation. The noise coming from the other guests was really bad. Also, there was limited parking outside and the surrounding streets. The man on reception suggested the metered parking across the street (there was none free) or a car park down the street. That’s where we ended up and were expecting to pay $70 over night. Turns out it’s free on the weekends, something the staff should have known and told us!

This was our second stay here. The first time was great - a small, cosy, clean room. This time? The same cost/level of room, but a dungeon. Hair from a previous occupant was smeared over the shower, light bulbs didn’t work, aircon blew hot air only, there was no fire extinguisher outside. It was appalling.

The room was very run down and dirty. Basin is about to fall off the wall, mattress is so bad that springs poke you in the back. Floor drain in bathroom floor completely broken out and could cause a trip hazard, shower door not engaged on bottom rail, waiting to fall out. Architraves rotten around window in bathroom, tiles pulling away from wall in bathroom. The front door is hard to open and close, carpets sticky when walking barefoot, very dirty. Nowhere enough parking for the amount of room. Road noise really bad making it a very unpleasant stay

There was nothing about this hotel that I liked. The room was musky and tiny, considering, I had upgraded to the superior room, the air conditioning did not work properly - I was extremely disappointed. I have never stayed in a place of this poor condition before.

Was exactly what we needed, bed toilet shower, was just what we were looking for without paying a fortune. Only problem was the bathroom light was broken and barely hanging on the the roof and only the fan came on when the light switch was flicked. Otherwise bed was nice and heard almost zero noise the whole night.

This was amazing value for money! The room was huge, lovely old building that reminds me of a cute bed and breakfast. Everything worked as it should. My only small issue was not being able to get 2 room keys.

A lovely reasonably priced hotel - hard to find in Sydney now. I moved from a bleak overpriced motel into this place and loved it. Historic building - I stayed in a lovely large room at the front. Simple and not fancy / ultra modern but had everything I needed, with some real charm as well. I know the neighbourhood well/ nice amenities ( opposite park) and good transport links to the city.

I really enjoyed staying here. Feels more like a home than a hotel. Rooms are basic but have all that you need. Buses at your door step or a 12-15min walk to North Sydney station. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Definitely would stay here again. And priced very well for the area. Some really great cafes near by and a pub with good food only a minutes walk away.
