The room was just as advertised, clean, quirky, and comfortable. We were in the older section so no elevator, but for us it wasn’t an issue. The restaurant had delicious choices and great coffee. The Sky Yard was fun for a late night drink after dinner down the street. I loved the art collection! I would definitely return.

Food in the cafe and for breakfast was odd. Pancakes were sour, food very greasy, and sausage/bacon not crispy. Otherwise clean and nice crash pad for one night stay. Elevator did break down.

The place is nice. Very quiet. The roof top bar could have been worded properly, and mentioned that it’s only on the second floor as roof top gives you that impression that it is high up in floors. The Drake underground was closed on a Friday night, which I had asked about the day before and the gentleman answering the phone never told me it was. The hotel doesn’t have a parking and you will need to use public parking, but that’s pretty normal for downtown Toronto. Overall it’s a cool little hotel with small rooms.

Wish Expedia could get their rate break for modern section of hotel. Room very clean with interesting style touches. Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Old section of hotel has no elevator but staff helped me carry suitcase up at check-in and out when leaving. Garage near hotel easy to use lots of space.

The hotel is on a busy street so off loading luggage is problematic. The parking lot for the hotel is a small public 2 storey lot that was full the 2 times we tried to park. At 9:00 we tried again and luckily got the last spot so we could leave the car safely overnight and finally check in. It was stressful at best.

I didn't like that they did not fully explain the parking situation so after a great night at the concert and after speaking with police officers I was pretty much assured that my car would be safe even prepaid for parking on the app come out to check out at 11:30 to see my vehicle has been towed $315 later I get it back not to mention the $25 cab ride

Check in experience was not good. Both attendants were on their phone and didn’t acknowledge me for some time. When I asked about the details of my room the woman was very dismissive. Once I got to my room, it was extremely claustrophobic and small. Thankfully there was another attendant working the front desk who was very friendly and receptive when I voiced my concerns and he did end up providing me with a new room. He changed my experience from horrible to wonderful. I tried the roof top one night and there were mice running around . This was concerning for me as my room was as on the same floor. Lobby and restaurant on the main floor are very nice.

Great spot in town to stay! Staff was a bit mute at the front with a splash of arrogance. That’s fine though. Room was clean, duvet (under cover) had some suspicious brown stains. Maybe time to retire that one. Overall very nice stay!

I would not stay here again. Although the location may seem desirable, the overall atmosphere and feel was extremely overpriced. The main areas are dirty. Rooms are extremely small. Fans weren’t working. Couple lights didn’t work. Bed cover was dirty. Will not stay here again.

Not worth the cost! The room and common areas were dark and shabby feeling. This hotel is billed for its hip vibe, but it just feels cluttered and dark. I recommend the neighbouring Gladstone highly for all the things the Drake is not.

Cool design of the rooms and such. Lobby smelled a little bit like 'mice' but cannot verify there were any. Room was nice but needed a bit of cleaning in the tight spots.

Great amenities, outstanding location and comfy room. The bathroom arrangement (crash pad room) was a bit odd for normal standards but worked fine. We had a bit of a water leak on the shower, the glass door wasn't fully sealed when closed but nothing major we couldn't manage with some extra towels. Overall great experience.

Tiny room (as expected) but the vent in my room was placed directly over the TV so it faces towards the head of the bed. Get ready to have cold air blasted at you while you relax/sleep. The magnifying mirror and the tablet in the room were broken. Terrible water pressure from the shower head. Thin comforter (non-down, felt very cheap), non-responsive text messaging system. The first night I tried to order cake for room service. They didn't respond until the next morning when I was out and no longer wanted dessert. No coffee or tea in room. The room also had an overall odor of mildew/staleness, kind of like a mixture of old sweat and a damp towel. I think the property is very much a 3-star property and not worth the nightly cost but the location is great and really what you're paying for. I was incredibly disappointed for what I paid.

We enjoyed the stay. The only issue was the fan or air conditioner was too loud at night. We could not fall asleep really. But we enjoyed the stay!

We were upgraded to a queen room which I was delighted with before I saw room but room 213 was dreary and for the price we paid I didn't feel I got value for money if anything I felt ripped off. No window to look out of. At one point we had spare time to relax and my daughter specifically asked not to go back to hotel room it was so unwelcoming !!

I was checked in by Victoria on April 17. Victoria was acting like I was a guest at her own house and should obey her rules. When later I asked her to provide me the flattest pillow they have, she started arguing with me saying that I already have fluffy pillows in my room and never followed up on my request, so I had a bad night sleeping on the uncomfortable pillows. Next day, another front desk employee quickly followed up on my request and I had 2 more nights of a pleasant sleep on the flat pillow. So, I think Victoria needs to be re-trained on how to deal with the customers and, possibly, learn from other fellow employees. For me, pillows are the most important part of my stay as I am very sensitive to how high they are.

The hotel vibe is great but I'd say what stands out the most is the service. From Jasmine and Virna serving me at the cafe's/restaraunt's to Tony with security making sure I felt comfortable and taken care of, the staff are what makes the Drake 5 stars!

Everything was great but felt a little misled when checking in as were encouraged by staff to upgrade. We were tired from a long drive so did it but not really sure why we were encouraged to do so - other than my husband maybe misunderstood being told we had to use outdoor stairs to get to our room and the other room we could get would be better. Fully our decision but it was a first time for being unsolicitedly upsold on what was supposed to be a better room.

Wonderful experience at The Drake, right from check in to check out. The staff in all areas are excellent, front desk, the bar staff can’t say enough about them. Can’t wait for my next trip to this hotel.

When I booked hotel, for nearby concert, I also booked a snack break before. The charcuterie board was a joke. The drinks were 3/10 at best. The only positive was the friendliness of the staff.
