Hotel Limmathof

I was a solo traveler and the property tic\'d all my boxes i.e. close to train station, breakfast included, after check out there was a great storage room for bags and most importantly a designated guest "day" use room (waiting room) to relax for an hour or two while waiting for my train to depart. That was a great convenience.

Room is clean, close to public transport. Lift available (not all hotel has it! ) very spacious, bed is comfortable. Tea and coffee on the ground floor when needed. Easy access. When you arrived dont go in the front entrance, lots of stairs, its hard to go up with suitcases, so you go around the back door because no steps, easy carried suitcases. No fan in the room but you can open the window when its hot. Because the hotel near trams and station so very noisy when you opened the window even until late night. Because we stayed only for 2 days we dont mind as it was easy to go to the big train station and we were back to the hotel just for sleep. For short stay, we will stay again.

Great location. Wonderful staff. Good basic bedroom that was clean and good bed BUT there is no air conditioning and even with window open and fan on it was always a touch warm. Also there are a lot of steps/stairs to get from entrance up to check in and is/was challenging for getting luggage up to that checkin and elevator

Great location, clean, excellent staff, no air conditioning as website states. Rooms have a swivel fan and windows open. Still quite hot inside with the hot outside temps. Stairs to reception a bit difficult with heavy luggage. Walkable to everything.

Vote was just 5 minutes walk from the Zurich HB train station. Close to a grocery store and restaurants and downtown. Perfect location. Stairs and elevator. Windows that open. Has a restaurant downstairs.

Tolles Ambiente, hilfreiches und nettes Personal, 24/7 Rezeption Besetzung, Weinstube, sehr zentral gelegen (Bus, Bahn, Fuss). Eine absolute Empfehlung. Zimmer war sehr schön, sauber, alles hat tiptop funktioniert. Gerne wieder im Zukunft.

There was an elevator but not on the ground floor. You had to drag your luggage up a flight of stairs to get to check in and to the elevator. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk. There was no air conditioning, so we had to leave the window open which made it hard to sleep with all the noise. We dealt with three different people at the front desk while we were there. The first lady was very nice and helpful but the next lady and man were extremely rude and seemed bothered to have to do anything. I called (from my cell phone since they had no phone) the night before to ask if they had breakfast and they said yes, told me what time and what floor. The next day the rude lady at the desk yelled at us about paying for our meal as we were going to breakfast. We didn't know we needed to pay, so we apologized and paid. Once we say what breakfast was, we wished we didn't pay. Way too much for what we got. Would not stay there again

まずスイスは物価が非常に高いので、小さなホテルでも1泊3万5千円以上が当たり前です。 ホテルリマートホフは中央駅から300メートルほどで地の利は良い所に有ります。 駅からの道すがらにCoopの大きな店もあり、食品などの入手は容易です。 部屋に湯沸かしポットはありませんが、1階に降りると熱い湯やそれを入れて部屋まで持ち込めるポットも用意されています。 部屋には湯船もありました。

There's free tea/coffee is available from an area just in front of the reception office and the lounge is comfortable if you don't want to sit in your room. Having expected nothing to be provided, I was surprised to find handwash and shower gel/shampoo in the bathroom, along with a hairdryer. Our room didn't have a wardrobe but there was hooks and a couple of hangers plus a shelving unit available had we wanted to unpack. The ladies at reception were very helpful with transport info and also provided a corkscrew (the bottles of wine we got at the nearby supermarket were not screwcap!) and a plug adaptor (we had European adaptors but the Swiss plug sockets are a different shape) on request. Our room was ready soon after we arrived (approx 9.30am) which was very much appreciated. We were also able to leave our luggage, in a locked room, after we'd checked out. At the price paid and given the superbly central location, close to the main train station and to the trams, we'd happily stay there again.

Beautiful hotel. Attractive bar and lounge, warm and welcoming staff, perfect location.

Clean room

Chambre propre et en bon état. Cependant l'hôtel est mal insonorisé. Du bruit provenant de la réception et des couloirs remonte jusqu'au second étage même la nuit ou tôt le matin.

This property is very conveniently located to the Niederdorf and the main train station. Excellent location, with tram stop right out front. The hotel is in a very old building. Rooms were clean but very small. The bathroom unfortunately had black mold all over it. They provide very minimal toiletries (1 soap) and no coffee in the room. The coffee downstairs was instant coffee, very disappointing. The breakfast opened late and then was very underwhelming. Stale looking sliced bread and minimal offerings - not the swiss standard of most hotels that provide nice croissants, muesli, fresh eggs, fruit, etc. The staff at the front desk was grumpy and often not in the office, causing us to wait a bit to get our room key. While the location is ideal, I'd suggest staying somewhere else.

Very clean, comfy bed and good shower. Maybe a kettle with the option to make tea/coffee in the room would be nice. Very friendly and helpful check in staff.

Very basic room, but clean, comfortable and in a fantastic central location. Just what we were looking for in a quick overnight.

Fomos muito bem recebidos, o quarto estava limpo e bem arrumado, o café da manhã bem servido e os funcionários muito atenciosos. Ficamos com vista para a cidade e não temos nada a nos queixar. Excelente custo-benefício, principalmente considerando a localização. Ficaria de novo com toda certeza.

Location was great but very noisy

La recepción fue amable, la habitación de un tamaño bastante adecuado (2 camas) y la ubicación muy buena, a solo siete minutos aproximadamente de la estación de tren HB. Nos dieron una habitación con vista a la calle así que teníamos una panorámica muy buena de la ciudad. En general fue una buena estancia. Aunque se escucha el ruido de la ciudad con la ventana cerrada se duerme muy bien. Hay una mesita con café y té todo el día.

Very clean rooms. No air conditioning resulted in need to leave windows open at night in a very busy traffic location--noisy. Very conveniently located within Old Towne--restaurants, stores, pubs, and other required locations. Hotel has an elevator. But, you must use multiple stairs without a handrail before getting to that elevator. Not easily accessible for those with disabilities. Overall, a very nice hotel.

Prior to our stay, I had read the reviews on this hotel and there were many negative comments regarding the tiny rooms and noise from the street. We were only in town for the one night and had a very pleasant experience at this hotel! Excellent location, 4 min walk to the train station. Very friendly staff! The building is on the older side so steps, small elevator and small rooms can be expected. Everything was very clean, bed was very comfortable and we had everything we needed for a quick stay!

We only spent one night here -- it was close to the train station and a nice river walk. The room was clean & comfortable and a good rate. It was also warm that day and I went to the reception desk to ask for a fan. The woman said she would get one from the basement then added that she dreaded going to the basement. So I offered to go with her if that would help and she gladly agreed, and we brought up several fans so she wouldn’t have to go to the basement again if other guests asked for fans. She went the extra mile.

Fantastic location. Best part of the room is the view that looks out over the river and streets. Comfy bed. Super small room, but it served our purpose for the 2 nights we stayed.

This is a great location centrally located near the train station and restaurants. I gave this a four star rating because there was no air-conditioning or fan in the room. We stayed in May so the temperature wasn’t too hot thankfully. we were not able to keep our windows open for a cool breeze because of all of the street noise.

Nice rooms. Tidy and comfortable. Very quiet even though it’s right in the middle of town. Very good value. But. Only one person on reception for such a busy hotel led to long delayed sometimes to drop off or get key to room. Over ten minutes on one occasion and on another reception wasn’t staffed at all and I had to take key with me. Also tea/coffee station rarely had clean cups for use. Again probably caused by reception staff being extremely busy. A nice hotel and ideally situated. But more front of house staff necessary.

Great location and accommodating staff! Arrived early simply to try and drop a bag and they checked me in. It was much appreciated. Great options within walkable distance.

We stayed for five nights at the Hotel Limmathof, and honestly, I couldn't fault it for anything. The location is wonderful, it is right in the middle of everything, with an easy walk to the train station. The breakfast was simple but adequate. The rooms are lovely and clean, with nice wooden floors, and the staff are helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Zurich, which is a fabulous city.

The staff was courteous and made check in process easy. The location was near train station making it perfect for day trips to nearby cities. Supermarket close for quick meals or necessities.

Well close to train station but if you have big bags you do need to cross many tram tracks. It was about 3min walk. We had come to front door and saw 2 flights of stairs and thought oh no. However if you go around the other side they do have a door which only has 2 small steps. So we arrived reception was a little window at firat we had an older lady and she was a little rude. We left our bags as our room wasnt ready and we locked them in a hot storeroom. When we returned we had a younger lady on and she was a bit more friendly. We got our room key . Room 41 by now we were wondering what had we booked we squeezed our bags and us in a tiny lift which was very claustrophobic and away we went. Opened door to room and was suprised how clean it was and quite roomy. It had a full bath tub and a queen bed . However it felt like a sauna no air-conditioning and no fridge. We went down stairs and put our medication in a fridge in the restaurants kitchen . The tv was hopeless as soon as we changed channel it said no signal so we just turned it off and opened the window. This was a highlight great view and could people watch from window. They did give a fan however it kept turning itself down we had it on high but over course of night it would turn to night mode and turn itself down we would wake in a later of sweat. Wifi was good. Was happy we only stayed 1 night on passing through Zurich. Very central to trains and a supermarket across the road. Probably wouldnt stay again.

Location is perfect! Rooms are newly renovated. We were allowed early check-in which we appreciated most. Staff are friendly!

Location couldn’t be better. Old Town and train station all right there. Super friendly staff, comfortable room (triple for us). Would definitely recommend.

Great location, with comfortable rooms, and scope for three or four single beds per room, making it a reasonably-priced options in an otherwise very expensive city. Plenty of breakfast and other dining options right outside.

Location is incredible, we only had 2 nights in Zurich and it was surrounded by bars, restaurants and amazing architecture! The hotel is close to every mode of transport but is also situated easy walking distance from everything of note in the city. Magdalena at the front desk was soo lovely and friendly, it made our stay great as we felt so welcome! 24/7 front desk is really handy, especially with the luggage storage on the day we were leaving as it gave us the full day without the burden of our backpacks! Minor note on our room would be that bathroom decor is a little dated, but the room and bathroom were clean, pleasant, the shower had great pressure and temperature and we especially loved being at the front with the window overlooking the hustle and bustle down by the river! Thanks for a great stay, if we come back to Zurich we would absolutely choose to stay here again!

Das Hotel ist top und in sehr guter Lage. Das Frühstück könnte etwas mehr Auswahl haben, war aber für 2 Übernachtungen ausreichend.

Excelente ubicación y también el servicio. Mi única recomendación es que deben mejorar el desayuno con mayor variedad. O todos desayunan carbohidratos y café. Deberían añadir opciones de proteína. También mi último día el desayuno se había terminado muchos alimentos.

The hotel and the area are great. Close to tram stops and walkable to the main train station. The only issue, was the breakfast being lacking, for the price.

I loved the buffet breakfast at their partnering restaurant next door..amazing atmoshere and servers... only for 15 euros

We had a great stay there. The location was wonderful price was good. Near train station and local trim service. Breakfast was perfect. I saw retested heat but did not see AC but they had a fan that brought in cool air from the river. Was vary happy.

Simple, modern, small room with view of back alley, but it was clean and comfortable. Very close to old town and popular city sites and numerous restaurants. Easy walking distance from train station. Staff was very kind, cheery and accommodating. Breakfast was served in a beautiful wood paneled room by attentive staff. A little noisy, due to proximity to bus and street traffic.
