I’ve enjoyed staying at this hotel, but it’s not as nice as it used to be. The staff are friendly but some seem not well trained. The hotel is nice, but is it worth the money? Feels like the hotel is not as well managed as it used to be. The spa upstairs is very run down and the steam sauna has been broken for months, with no indication of when it will be fixed. The bathroom in my room was not very clean, a bit moldy and gunk on the floor. The breakfast is one of the nicest of any hotel I’ve stayed at but the quality has slipped recently.

The experience was poor because of the two reasons. 1. The swimming pool was not available when I stayed there due to renovation. The hotel never mentioned that they stop using swimming pool when I booked the hotel. I hope the hotel could let me know in advance as swimming pool is one of essentials for me to select a hotel. 2. The hot water in shower system was not stable. The hot and cool water was not supplied properly. Therefore, the water could be unpredictably hot or cool and it was hard to control. I hope the hotel could provide full refund for this stay as a five star hotel should have provided a better facilities.

We stayed here in 2024 and 2025 on holiday. It is an excellent hotel with many international guests and well equipped for business due to its location. The receptionists speak English well. Gym is small but has sufficient equipment. Extensive variety of food for breakfast. The most popular hotel restaurant appears to be Paulaner. Room service is prompt. The cakes at the deli are delicious. We will certainly be here everytime we are in Beijing.

Checking in took a long time, although only two person it took more than one hour. And when I check in the hotel said there is no reservation from Expedia, I was really frustrated. And the room has a smell of sweet perfume, made me dizzy. Not a good hotel .

I’ve stayed at many properties in Beijing over the years and I’ve come to make the Kempinski my top choice. Its location is great and staff are great, but it also has combination of classic elegance and quality that many other hotels lack. It’s not ostentatious, but everything is super high quality from the breakfast to the rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful and I like that is in the river. My only suggestion are that the beds could probably use new mattresses. But they are still quite good.

I stayed twice, June 29 and July 7, 2024. Both times I did enjoy my stay. All in all the services were excellent and the attitude, as well as friendliness of personnel, made me feel like I knew them before. Breakfast and food at the Italian Restaurant were superb and delicate. Unfortunately, the Wienerschnitzel at German Beer Garden & Cafe was not quite fresh, but still enjoyable. Ivy at the Reception gave me the best advice and directions for Beijing. Thanks

I stayed the place because of the surrounding environment, good place to walk around in the back of the hotel, lovely and renovated outdoor place is a great attraction. The hotel’s management team is a huge disappointment, guests smoke inside the rooms with doors open which the entire hall way was filled with smoke, guests smoking in the bar/coffee, I reported to the front desk, with little result. I understood there are always small groups of people destroy a culture of good behavior and concern of others due to their ignorance and stupidity. These selfish and idiotic people don’t deserve the facilities. However, I think there is fundamental problem from the management team, I travel a lot, but only in China, I see people smoking in hotel rooms and hotel public facilities.
