Overall an excellent hotel. Location is great for both access to the Termini train station and also to Rome's highlights such as: Trevi, the Colosseum, even the Vatican if you like to walk. We walked to all of them more than once. Our room was well appointed, clean and very quiet. Lovely rooftop bar, although expensive. The only minor negative was we found some of the breakfast staff to be quite abrupt and unfriendly. That was unusual in our experience of service people in Italy who were all genuinely friendly.

Terrible experience – feels like a scam This was easily one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We chose Hotel Mediterraneo because it clearly advertised parking for around €30 per night. When we arrived, they charged us more than double, claiming our car was a “minivan.” That’s ridiculous — it’s a standard vehicle that takes up the same space as any other car. We’ve traveled all over the world and have never seen such an absurd excuse to overcharge guests. It honestly felt like a scam. The room was unbearable. No air conditioning, and they casually said it was “off for the season,” even though it was hot. The room turned into an oven. The only option was to open the windows, which meant dealing with nonstop street noise all night. Sleeping was basically impossible. The breakfast was awful — low quality, minimal options, and not worth it at all. The hotel itself is extremely outdated, with old, worn-down facilities that feel neglected. Between the dishonest parking charges, lack of basic comfort like air conditioning, and overall poor quality, this place is completely overpriced and not worth it. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

The room was clean, and the bed and linens were very nice. It did get quite warm at times, so I opened the window for some cooler air. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.
