Single economy room - compact, as described...Excellent, quiet and very comfortable. Staff very helpful. Breakfast very good, variety of hot, fruit, cereals, pastries, meats & cheeses + juices (only missing muesli or granola). Small, but good gym. Excellent location for walking all the sights. 2mins to Cavour station (Ciampino airport- Bus 720 25min to Larentina Station (last stop) 20min to Cavour station.

The property clearly stated that it has elevator, but you have to walk up 2 flight of stairs to get to the elevator. And the shower is literally a box placed inside the bedroom with limited room to move around in.

Excellent option in Rome Centro Storico. Walking distance to Colisseum and a lot of restaurants, bares and coffee shops around. Just a few steps to Cavour metro station. 24 hours frontdesk with very friendly staff. The only thing is that you cannot use iron in the room.

We stayed in the annexe - was a good sized room, twin beds. Very clean. Very hot on arrival - had to locate the thermostat! If I’m being picky, I would say not a lot of room moving from bathroom into main room - door hit on bidet, and no tea and coffee facilities in room. We could go downstairs for it but personally I like a cup of tea in the morning whilst getting ready!

Property is quirky we stayed in the annnex. Lots of stairs. Welcome to Rome. Very close to Colosseum and close to metro. Staff was great arranged for taxis to ship arrived within a few minutes and wasn’t all that pricey. Great air conditioning. I would stay there again

The location was great - being able to be in the center of Rome, close to the train station, plenty of shops and restaurants, and of course, the Colosseum view from the end of the block! (And a quick walk to see it and tour it!) The front desk and staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to enjoy our stay. They could give us guidance and direction and were willing to book us things if we needed to do so. We did not need it, but appreciated the helpfulness. We loved the location and felt safe. However, the elevator broke, so we had to walk up the stairs - which is fine, but that could be a problem for weary travelers or people who need to use lifts. Additionally, the more annoying thing was that the only mirror was in the bathroom, so it made it challenging for two people to get ready at the same time! A simple additional mirror within the closet area could solve that headache! Location is ideal, so if you want to be close to the action, stay here!

This is our second time staying at this hotel. The staff is always so friendly (shoutout to kuya George). There are a lot of restaurants and convenient stores around the area. It's also within walking distance from the Colosseum! I definitely prefer the rooms at the Annex (as they are bigger - just no elevator).

The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a room with a private balcony, which was great. The hotel was very cute and nice. There were many stores and restaurants right outside the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Everything was lovely at first, but on our second (and last night) we woke up in the morning with ants in the bed and all over the floor. We notified reception but nothing was done so won’t be coming back!

Our first day, the front desk lady wasn’t friendly. Too expensive for an okay property. There wasn’t hair conditioner. There were molds inside the bathroom. The room was too small for 4 people and we paid almost $800 for two nights. Definitely not returning. The graveyard staff however was nice and more accommodating.

This hotel is ver clean, I would highly recommend it.

It is a comfortable enough hotel in a fantastic location. However, it was noisy. There was construction outside our window and we could hear the room above us stomping around like elephants. Housekeeping was very poor. Never replacing tea, coffee, soap or towels.

Room was not close to pictures shown and very dirty, lot of dust.

Super close to Colosseum, quaint neighborhood. One of the men working at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! Small room, but that's expected in a city - and very well kept. Elevator was also great to have!

Hotel is in perfect location, but be aware that basic room will have a shower next to your bed. That is not what you see on the picture! Pictures are very deceiving. We had to pay to upgrade to have a normal bedroom and shower. Also don’t expect usb charger.

Room was extremely small.

We were given rooms without windows on different floors even though we are a family. There is no TV in one room and the room is very small. You can't turn around properly. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything. I wouldn't recommend these rooms to anyone who has trouble sleeping. A 2 star hotel, not a 4.

Hotel was very nice, very clean, staff was a 11 out of 10 when it comes to customer service. The room I booked was extremely small, the pictures on Expedia were not very accurate and that was the only bummer for me. And I wish there was an option to see whether the rooms had any kind of window with a view of the streets as it's very cool to people watch from your hotel room. Our room had no view at all of anything but a brick wall lol. But the shower was a REAL sized shower and not one of those corner closet showers so that was very nice. Bed was very comfortable although being 6ft tall my feet hung off the edge a bit lol. VERY quiet room, GREAT air conditioner and the location was soooo close to everything. 8 minute walk to the colosseum , food and stores everywhere below the room so it was great overall. Just know that the cheaper priced rooms are extremely small. I would still book here again though.

The hotel room is extremely small. The bedroom and the bathroom are very small. But the location is awesome.

Although the staff were lovely I’m afraid I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The walls are paper thin so you can hear noises in neighbouring rooms. Conversations, sneezes, etc.. Dark, room with no window felt very claustrophobic. The area around the hotel was noisy in the evenings. But staff were wonderful.

Recently, had a very wonderful 5-night stay at Hotel Duca d'Alba which is classy and lovely. It is extremely neat with a very comfortable mattress and bed sheets. Its breakfast buffet was full of varieties. Most importantly, its front-desk staff was amazingly helpful, especially Angelo and Christ who were joyful with smiles, engaging, caring and resourceful all the time. Also, the hotel has an excellent location with many nice restaurants around it and a very nearby metro station (less than 2-minute walk). All in all, I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I go back to Rome next time. (My stay was at the end of September.)

Booked this hotel on Expedia. When booking it said “Suite” sleeping 4 people in separate building. Be ware that the pictures on Expedia website does not illustrate the rooms in this separate building (at the time of booking for us at least). If this hotel is a 4 star hotel, the separate building is at the most 2 stars. It is very cramped. The standard is way below the pictures seen on Expedia website. We did not receive any information upon check in about the amenities available. Staff were not very courteous except one of them. Upon check out, they said they couldn’t help me with the luggage since it was 5 AM. After insisting, they finally did. I’m sure if you stay in the main building, things are better but the separate building’s standard is subpar. And the staff need training in better customer service. The room phone was not working either. I fixed it myself in the end. There is many more things to say but if I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Shame! The hotel offered us a room and the bathroom door frame was only held on by nails - after using the door a couple of times the frame fell off and nails ripped my blouse! The shower did not drain and flooded the bathroom. The hairdryer was held on the wall by double sided tape and did not work well. No water was offered to us. Breakfast is awful! The eggs are so old and dry you cannot eat them. The receptionist was grumpy and rude. The general manager was kind and helpful, he moved our room and offered us free breakfast - even though we decided against eating it. But our room was much nicer. We had a supply of water and a fully working shower and hairdryer!

I have stayed here 5x Monti is now a "hot" area, and a well located place to be. Duca D\'Alba is a pleasant, well priced hotel in the middle of the "action"... nice staff, clean rooms... not high end accommodation but perfectly nice, but particularly for solo travelers.... and, sneaky secret, some rooms have private terraces .. ; -)

Frendly resepsjon and piccolo. Restauran in a celler, not cosey. Low quality food. Grumpy no smiley «service» 4 star Hotel, expensive. Picture lies. More like 2 star hotel. Prison cell view from the room. Death trap in case of fire. No escape rute in case fire.

Room was nice, but needed more attention to little things (used q-tip in bathroom, paper under curtains, fridge didn’t work). AC was great and kept the room almost too cold. Location was good within walking distance of food and attractions (Colosseum was practically around the corner). Front desk staff was helpful when needed. All staff interactions were prompt and professional.

Staff was incredible- we arrived early for a nine night stay and they quickly stored our luggage so we could start our day. Hotel is very close to the major ancient sites, in addition to many restaurants (and gelato). Metro station is close for travel around Rome, or to Termini for trips outside of Rome. Highly recommend!

We needed a budget friendly yet comfortable & clean hotel in this specific location. This hotel is a hidden gem. The entire staff is friendly, helpful & eager to help make your stay enjoyable. I had a typical double room while my friend had a single room that, while tiny, had the needed amenities (although the safe in her room did not work). Neat and tidy, spotlessly clean and quiet, considering the neighborhood. We did not opt for the breakfast but saw that it had a nice variety. The only negative is the area tends to attract a mildly unattractive element of squatters or vagrants; they camp out on the steps adjacent to the hotel's entrance. That could be off-putting for some people. But there are plenty of places to eat and drink right in this area and it's very convenient for getting around (Colosseum is in walking distance) plus there are multiple stores, shops, pharmacy, etc, right there. Although located on a side street off the main road (via Cavour), our transfer vehicle had no issues pulling right up to the front door to collect us for the airport. I would recommend to anyone looking for a very nice accommodation, at very attractive prices, for a few nights. Rooms are smallish, even my double and, as I said, the solo room for a single traveler is very compact; so bear that in mind. You're not getting the spacious room that American's tend to expect; you're getting a clean and comfortable boutique hotel with an excellent staff who value you as a guest.

This is a great little hotel. It’s situated a 5 min walk from the colosseum and 1 min from the metro. It’s a great place for families - the suites have two separate beds for kids so works really well for a family of 4. The breakfast could be better but there are also lots of cafes nearby so it’s not the end of the world. One point to be beware of - there are two bars opposite the hotel and on a Friday night they are quite loud until 12am, but then it dies down. Overall would highly recommend.

I spent 4 nights at this lovely little hotel located just a 5-minute walk from the Colosseum and a 15-minute walk from Termini Station (great for day trips to Pompeii and Amalfi Coast). My room was very comfortable and quiet, and the optional 15 euro breakfast was very nice. The hotel is in the Monti neighborhood, the best combination of old, hip, and easy to get around, just off Via Cavour. I appreciated it even more after walking through the main tourist part of Rome; even though Rome was crowded due to the Jubilee, Monti never felt overwhelming. An amazing little pizza place and the Curi Curi cafe are a few steps from the hotel, there's a gelateria on every corner, and an ancient piazza with beautiful fountain that seems to serve as a public gathering spot is around the corner. The hotel staff is very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

This property is an amazing location! And the staff was very lovely. The rooms were okay but our air conditioning did not work that well. We walked everywhere- sightseeing , shopping, dinner - all is close by. My recommendations would be: 1. Try to get a room that doesn’t face the street, 2. Research the restaurants since many around this area are touristy and 3. I would skip the hotel breakfast. They charge for it and it is not that great.

Staff was always friendly and welcoming , we had the morning breakfast 4 days out of our 5 days stay in Rome and it was fantastic ! Area felt safe and the hotel was clean and comfortable and with the window shut it was very quiet . Hotel was 2 min walk to metro and 10 min walk to Colosseum! Overall a very pleasant experience !

Hotel well placed to see all the major sites of Rome. Room was compact but acceptable. Bathroom was clean and modern. Plenty of good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Buffet breakfast was average, nothing special. Would return there on a future trip.

We had a great stay here! The breakfast was great. Best eggs we had in Italy!
