With this hotel you are paying for the stunning view rather than a luxury hotel. We decided to spend a night here so that we could have our breakfast overlooking the Trevi fountain, which was included in the price. The hotel is small, dated and very dark. The rooms are very basic but have everything you need. Bathroom was small but shower was good. The rooftop bar is old but the views are amazing. It’s small and I thought that it would be really busy but both times we were there, we got a window seat. We went to the bar at 4pm for some prosecco which was really nice and spent breakfast there the next morning. I felt that it was worth it for one night for the experience.

Loved this hotel. The room on the top floor (where the serve breakfast and cocktails) has a stunning view of the Trevi Fountain. Although the hotel was in the middle of the city, it was still fairly quiet. The breakfast was delicious! And we even enjoyed a cocktail and snacks one night--the perfect was to view the fountain and unwind after a busy day sightseeing. The staff was so kind and helpful with arranging travel to and from the airport. The service was amazing. And you're very centrally located to everything you'd want to do in Rome. Would definitely book here again.

The hotel is in a very historic landmark location directly in front of the Trevi Fountain. As a result, it is very crowded around the hotel at all times but this is to be expected. It didn’t cause issues for us. Our room was ready early which was great. The hotel itself is quite old but in pretty good condition. The bed was ok. Unfortunately, we had no hot water in the morning. The rooftop lounge was a great place to have a cocktail in the evening and to enjoy the included breakfast the next day. Unfortunately, it was very hot there and no apparent air conditioning or fans in use. It was very nice for our one night stay.

Honest review: not the best hotel in Rome. The door legit faces the Trevi Fountain- which is cool in theory but holy cow the crowds at all hours of the day and night. Cars don’t drive on this road so you get dropped off a few feet away and have to push and shove your way to the hotel. The street is packed like sardines with people waiting in line to throw coins into the fountain. It’s the absolute worst getting in and out of the hotel, not to mention doing it with luggage on your arrival and departure days. The staff: I found most of them unfriendly. The room: I booked the room with the Trevi Fountain view because, again, it seemed cool. What a mistake. Those crowds at all hours? Yeah they are loud and you hear it ALL. Our first night I didn’t sleep at all and what a surprise when there was a marching band at 10:30pm! Not to mention the hourly marriage proposals that come with every cheering and clapping. I bought earplugs the next day and was able to mute the noise about 90% after that but know that there are big loud crowds outside the window from 8am to 5am every day. Yes you read that right. The room is also tilted and felt dirty. Shower is very small, slippery, and doesn’t have a shelf to put your soap, shampoo, etc. Other than that, there is a rooftop bar that is open to the public so you have strangers entering with access to the entire hotel- not just the top floor. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. Plenty of hotels a block away.

The hotel was exactly what we needed—unique rooms with Italian charm and a comfortable bed after a long day of site seeing. The hotel restaurant provided a delicious buffet breakfast with a PERFECT view of the trevi fountain above the crowds outside. The noise of the people visiting the fountain outside couldn’t be heard from our room (though once in awhile we’d hear a faint whistle from the fountain attendants directing visitors). The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our requests for additional shower items and water bottles. We were also able to leave our bags when we arrived since we arrived before check in time—the bags were waiting for us in our room by the time we returned to officially check in. Given that this hotel is RIGHT in front of the fountain and only feet from gelato places, shops and restaurants, this was an excellent deal to stay here. Be advised that a car cannot get right in front of the hotel door to drop your bags, but the car/taxi can pickup/drop off maybe 50 feet from the door so it wasn’t bad!

The property was directly acrss from Trevi Fountain so extremely busy. right outside door. Closed windows blocked out noise well. there was an elevator which was one of the reasons we chose the property for my mother. 15 steep stairs to breakfast so was not able to take advantage of the breakfast . Due to crowds outside the taxis had to pull up quite a bit aways so bringing luggage in was problematic. Would only give us onr hand towel for 3 people. Beds were comfortable.

NO PARKING AVAILABLE. Travesty that it lists as such. Recommended parking is 0.6 miles. DO NOT USE APPLE OR GOOGLE MAPS. Waze worked to get me there. Fountain area is almost never quiet. The room was postcard size with a postage stamp sized bathroom. The shower was roughly 1’x1’ and not as clean as I would expect. Pictures of rooms feel like they all show the fountain, ours showed an alley. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also don’t take recommendation for Osteria Bacco… iceberg lettuce and canned olives in salad.

Directly in front of Trevi Fountain, awesome location. Old interiors, breakfast available with terrific view of fountain.Restaurants, cafes and shops everywhere. If you are staying on the top floor (level3) and it’s raining, prepare yourself for water to be dripping into your room. We had several leaks in the room, no matter we moved the bed, we were getting wet. It’s an old building and requires a lot of maintenance.

Our view was incredible and we were able to check in early which was very nice. Upon arrival, the men at the front desk insisted on holding onto our passports for 15 minutes while we checked in, which was VERY strange. The bathroom had black mold all over and the hand held shower had mildew inside of it. We decided to get a different hotel for the rest of our trip after only being there for a few hours.

Stayed here for the view of the fountain and it did not disappoint! Despite being in a very busy area of the city, the room was quiet. The room itself was fine, clean enough but there was a strong musty scent and some mold in the shower.

Very over crowded and loud outside. Hard to get in and out of the hotel and immediate area. Rooms were not in great shape, shower was dirty, had to ask for toilet paper and other basic stuff. Great access to dining, shops, and Trevi Fountain.

Very old property that needs updating. I was afraid to use the plugs for fear of fire. Bedding was dirty and they didnt give us clean towels during our stay. The bed and pillows were hard as a rock. Location is directly in front of Trevi Fountain so that was perfect and you could view it from the upstairs dining room.staff was friendly.

Great area. Everything close by, easy to walk to. The room smelled of sewage, which I did not know can actually make you physically sick until it did. Unfortunately they were fully booked so I could not get another room. Not sure if the smell was every room due to the very old age of the hotel, or just my room.

The woman at the front desk who speaks English well is very kind. It’s obviously a very old hotel so it still has character and charm and I love that. Cons: it’s loud. This really isn’t a fault or a complaint on the hotel. I knew it would be from other reviews, but I didn’t anticipate just how loud it can be and nightly until around 1am. It’s not even just the hustle and bustle of the crowd, there’s constantly shouting and cheering and loud music past 9pm. We were exhausted so we didn’t stay out late, maybe we missed something? Then at 3am on Sunday morning was trash pickup in the alley right outside our window and that was rough. We stayed 2 nights on the 1st floor, room 109. Two twin size beds. I think it’s great for a night or 2, great location for many reasons besides the Trevi fountain. The room was totally fine. I didn’t mind sleeping in a separate bed from my husband after jet lag haha. If you plan to stay here I would definitely consider bringing earplugs and sleep sounds. And a blanket, the AC actually gets pretty cold. Also, have euros, 6 euros per night per person city tax upon check out. Free breakfast buffet. It is a pain bringing suitcases through the crowd and the cobblestone as cars can’t get closer to the hotel, we had some old British guy mouth off at us for bringing suitcases through such a place and I snapped back.

Loved our room because of the view ; right in front of the fountain. The room was fairly simple, but high ceilings and spacious , bed very comfy . Kept clean and tidy every day. The hotel is quirky in a good way, not boring old modern buildings . The staff were all friendly, welcoming and approachable . This is right by the Trevi Fountain, so be prepared for the crowds outside and then a lovely sense of calm as you walk into the hotel. Def recommend it and would go back there to stay.

Stayed here for the view of the fountain and it did not disappoint! Despite being in a very busy area of the city, the room was quiet. The room itself was fine, clean enough but there was a strong musty scent and some mold in the shower.

Honest review: not the best hotel in Rome. The door legit faces the Trevi Fountain- which is cool in theory but holy cow the crowds at all hours of the day and night. Cars don’t drive on this road so you get dropped off a few feet away and have to push and shove your way to the hotel. The street is packed like sardines with people waiting in line to throw coins into the fountain. It’s the absolute worst getting in and out of the hotel, not to mention doing it with luggage on your arrival and departure days. The staff: I found most of them unfriendly. The room: I booked the room with the Trevi Fountain view because, again, it seemed cool. What a mistake. Those crowds at all hours? Yeah they are loud and you hear it ALL. Our first night I didn’t sleep at all and what a surprise when there was a marching band at 10:30pm! Not to mention the hourly marriage proposals that come with every cheering and clapping. I bought earplugs the next day and was able to mute the noise about 90% after that but know that there are big loud crowds outside the window from 8am to 5am every day. Yes you read that right. The room is also tilted and felt dirty. Shower is very small, slippery, and doesn’t have a shelf to put your soap, shampoo, etc. Other than that, there is a rooftop bar that is open to the public so you have strangers entering with access to the entire hotel- not just the top floor. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else. Plenty of hotels a block away.

You're paying for the location. We had no issues with our room, AC worked fantastic, shower was great. Towels are huge like bedsheets, that was a very pleasant surprise. Staff wasn't overly friendly. If you're sensitive to noise when trying to sleep, then staying here would not be for you. Walkable to many sites and shopping

The property was directly acrss from Trevi Fountain so extremely busy. right outside door. Closed windows blocked out noise well. there was an elevator which was one of the reasons we chose the property for my mother. 15 steep stairs to breakfast so was not able to take advantage of the breakfast . Due to crowds outside the taxis had to pull up quite a bit aways so bringing luggage in was problematic. Would only give us onr hand towel for 3 people. Beds were comfortable.

Our stay at Hotel Fontana was excellent from check in to check out! The staff were incredibly accommodating, helping schedule transportation, and even calling airport handling to ask about my delayed baggage. They truly went above and beyond, and we were so grateful for all they did! Should we come back to Rome, we will absolutely stay here again!

I showed up early to hold my bags. I booked a room across from Trevi Fontaine . They told me they were having plumbing problems and sent me to a hotel down the street. The television didn’t work and air conditioning made noise. I was not compensated at all besides an apology. I got scammed.

The staff at the hotel are fantastic. Fabrizzio was so helpful, walking us around the corner to the taxi he called for us. Even chasing it down when they loaded up the wrong tourists. The entire staff treat you like family. Our room was beautiful, tastefully furnished with antiques. We were thrilled. Occupying a historic building dating from the 13th century, it was built hundreds of years before Trevi fountain. As such you dont expect a hotel with that much history to look like the Four Seasons, nor would you WANT it to. Instead you get a beautiful comfortable clean welcoming convenient place to stay, literally in the heart of the city. Considering the location is right across from the busy trevi fountain, you'll wade thru crowds to get to the lobby, but the moment you cross the threshold, its remarkably quiet, relaxing and welcoming. I slept so well. The breakfast room/bar on the top floor has a view of Trevi Fountain to die for, so even if you dont have a fountain view from your room, you can enjoy a world class view upstairs. (And do keep in mind if choosing a fountain-view room, the fountain stays busy late, so don't its unfair to complain about noise). I highly recommend Hotel Fontana

The absolute worst. We booked purely based on location for the last night of our trip but we were so incredibly disappointed. For what we paid we expected better. It is tiny, very dated, and disgustingly dirty. The fridge, where I thought I could keep my son’s milk didn’t keep anything cold, the towel bars had been broken and the remains still on the wall (so no place to even hang a towel), the bathroom faucets were rusted, the room was coated in dust and just straight filth. I am honestly embarrassed to say we said here. Would much rather stay a short walk from Trevi (as we had earlier in this week) for a much, much better hotel. Absolutely disgusting. Oh, and, the hotel arranged our cab to the airport and it was just a standard cab they called for us. Yet, it was $75 as opposed to the posted (on all cabs) $50 rate. So, there’s an example of their service.

Todo limpio, y bien en general. Solo hay un tipo insoportable en la recepción, un viejo que se hace el chistoso. De ahí en fuera todos son súper agradables y respetuosos. Ah y la primera noche nos mandaron a otro hotel, por qué sobrevendieron la estancia. Es lo único negativo del lugar.

It’s a cute boutique hotel. The location is a great central point for most of the biggest sight seeing in Rome. The staff is great especially Camilla. She gave us the best recommendations for food, shops, things to see, etc. You can’t beat the view of Trevi Fountain from the rooftop lounge. If you are looking for a more intimate hotel with good access to everything and a fabulous staff this is the place!

Highlights: convenient location. Honestly, I didn’t hate the room, it was very small, but cute and overall clean. The staff is friendly. The woman at the front desk who speaks English well is very kind. It’s obviously a very old hotel so it still has character and charm and I love that. Cons: it’s loud. This really isn’t a fault or a complaint on the hotel. I knew it would be from other reviews, but I didn’t anticipate just how loud it can be and nightly until around 1am. It’s not even just the hustle and bustle of the crowd, there’s constantly shouting and cheering and loud music past 9pm. We were exhausted so we didn’t stay out late, maybe we missed something? Then at 3am on Sunday morning was trash pickup in the alley right outside our window and that was rough. We stayed 2 nights on the 1st floor, room 109. Two twin size beds. I think it’s great for a night or 2, great location for many reasons besides the Trevi fountain. The room was totally fine. I didn’t mind sleeping in a separate bed from my husband after jet lag haha. If you plan to stay here I would definitely consider bringing earplugs and sleep sounds. And a blanket, the AC actually gets pretty cold. Also, have euros, 6 euros per night per person city tax upon check out. Free breakfast buffet. It is a pain bringing suitcases through the crowd and the cobblestone as cars can’t get closer to the hotel, we had some old British guy mouth off at us for bringing suitcases through such a place and I snapped back.

This hotel is steps away from the Trevi Fountain, in Piaza de Trevi.You could not ask for a better location. Everything in the old city is walkable. The staff are freindly and very helpful And the breakfast on the top floor with a view of the fountain is an excellent way to start the day!

Loved this hotel. The room on the top floor (where the serve breakfast and cocktails) has a stunning view of the Trevi Fountain. Although the hotel was in the middle of the city, it was still fairly quiet. The breakfast was delicious! And we even enjoyed a cocktail and snacks one night--the perfect was to view the fountain and unwind after a busy day sightseeing. The staff was so kind and helpful with arranging travel to and from the airport. The service was amazing. And you're very centrally located to everything you'd want to do in Rome. We had a quick layover in Rome and this hotel was perfect. We could see the fountain from our room! It was centrally located so we could see the main sites quickly. I was also surprised at the lovely breakfast we were served! I was expecting espresso and croissant!

Obviously loved the breakfast cafe with a great view of the Trevi Fountain! But the staff was very helpful. My wife uses a wheelchair and the staff assisted with moving her and the chair through the lobby on several occasions. They did not have to and i was very impressed with their kindness.

The hotel is in a very historic landmark location directly in front of the Trevi Fountain. As a result, it is very crowded around the hotel at all times but this is to be expected. It didn’t cause issues for us. Our room was ready early which was great. The hotel itself is quite old but in pretty good condition. The bed was ok. Unfortunately, we had no hot water in the morning. The rooftop lounge was a great place to have a cocktail in the evening and to enjoy the included breakfast the next day. You couldn't ask for a better location than this hotel! It is literaly right in front of the Trevi Fountain. The staff were always fabulous, the breakfast on the rooftop looking out to the fountain was top notch (as were the staff)! The beds were ok, but they need some new pillows. Otherwise the room was great!

Breakfast was good. View from rooftop nice. Didn’t like how dark the hotel was. Lighting was very poor. This hotel needs renovation.

The hotel is lovely, traditional older Rome hotel. Right in the center of things, Trevi Fountain is super busy so be prepared for that. The rooftop bar/breakfast room is the best and was the highlight . Very friendly staff.

Clean room. Staff helpful. Appreciated the allowed for them to set up taxis from and to airport at my cost. Bed was very hard, not comfortable. A/c was so so as unit very high up in room no control over unit.

Checked into the hotel at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, air-conditioning was not working. There was no remote for the air conditioner, which was set way high. When I looked at it, there was no lights on it so it went downstairs and complained. They said they control it down there, and they were gonna turn it up. Never happened. I complained more than four times. The room was filthy. The walls were all scuffed and dirty the floor was dirty. The bathroom smelled of urine. There was mold around the shower. I was there for about three hours and I checked out and I told him I’m not gonna stay in Rome and spend all that money to get there to live in a pigsty with no air conditioning. They said they would refund me. Later I got a bill they wouldn’t refund me anything. I communicated with them and they said the air conditioning works so we’re not refunding you. Going back to when I complained about the air conditioner. They said they’d send a service man, but he couldn’t come until Monday or Tuesday. I was only there till Wednesday morning. That’s why I checked out. I found a wonderful hotel several blocks away and enjoyed the rest of my stay. Working with the credit card company to get my money back. If you’re thinking of staying there think twice it is a pigsty.
