DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Decatur Riverfront

I booked this hotel for the gym peloton bike. It didn't work.

Room was dark, outdated, and walls were dirty. Site advertised pool was working when checking in we were handed a piece of paper about location and was noted the pool was closed. This should be on website. Families choose hotels with working amenities.

Nice room, heated pool with towels. Just needs a hot tub. Breakfast buffet was good.

We had a great weekend staying here for a baseball tournament! Love the layout of the hotel! Staff was amazing! Nice room with comfortable beds! Indoor pool connected to outdoor pool..one of the best amenities! Great area with multiple tv’s to watch sports! Totally enjoyed our stay and found our go to spot when in Decatur!

Workout bikes are in need of TLC. No hottub. Restaurant is average at best. Hilton 2 is nearby. Next time.

The pool and hot tub was closed. Breakfast was 15.00 not included. I expected more for almost 200.00

The hotel feels like two hotels joined together. It doesn’t flow well from one end to the other. Kind of weird. We used the fitness center. It was just okay. Some of the equipment was broke but they do offer you towels and bottles of water which was nice. Overall, location is convenient to the interstate but is on a very busy road to get back out on but we just circled the block and came out at a different light, easy enough to get around that. Just a heads up if you want breakfast you pay extra for that. All in all not a bad hotel just some quirky things. They are doing some remodeling and you couldn’t park at the front doors to unload or load your vehicle bc the front doors were closed. Other access doors were close by so that wasn’t bad either. Hopefully, when they are done things will flow more smoothly. Overall, it’s a good hotel.

Front desk employees super nice ! Clean, quiet rooms. A/C seemed to not work great. Carpet tore and raggedy edges at elevator. Elevators very slow luckily there’s only 4 floors otherwise nice hotel !

We didn’t have the breakfast. My wife and child enjoyed the stay. The only issue was the pool wasn’t available for use.

Mold in the shower,

Disappointed that there were clipped nails on our bathroom floor and when I wiped them up there was also a lot of hair from the previous people. Our toilet also was not secure to the floor. It's an older hotel so I understand the wear . Bed

I’m generally a fan of Hilton hotels, their quality control is generally pretty good. This place was the exception to that. We had two rooms and neither had toilet paper, facial tissue, laundry bags or shower soap. The bathrooms were dirty and the rooms were dingy. Staff was unapologetic and didn’t care. We couldn’t get out fast enough.

The hotel lobby & amenities were very nice. The room was obviously old and rundown. Rusty shower, mouse bait under the desk, mold stains on the foldout bed, no dishes or supplies in the kitchenette. Also, if the sound of tradins is a problem for you, beware the is just down the street from a switchyard. No horns, but plenty of background traffic noise. Not a problem for us, but could be for some people. Overall not a great value for the price.

Everything was really clean

When you hear Double Tree you think of first class. It wasn’t we had trouble with our room. We made reservations a month in advance and got there to get the wrong room. Get to the other room and it was dirty in the bathroom under the sink was full of dust!!!! We didn’t have tissue paper called the front desk and it literally took them 2HRS TO GIVE US TISSUE. The curtains were falling down. We made the best of it we came down from Georgia to get disappointed. We will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located for easily walking around town. We attended the Princess Theatre so very walkable to the downtown areas. Lots of traffic on highway so very noisy outside but doors inside were soundproof and quiet.

hotel rooms need a facelift. shower had mold. chairs in restaurant were battered . when u spend this money u expect a better property . this was a motel 6 experience

Enjoyed my stay here. Couldn’t of asked for a better view! My one complaint is that the rooms are showing their age. The lobby is freshly remodeled and is very nice, but the rooms look to be stuck in the 90s. Wouldn’t be enough to make me avoid staying here next time I’m in town though.

Good hotel, nice river views.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel as a pit stop along our travel route. The hotel was said to be an upscale hotel, but this was not the case. I will say that the room itself was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. That is pretty much where it ends. The walls are paper thin, so you hear everything, and I do mean everything. Up until 3am we heard people running up and down the halls and being extremely loud which kept us from sleeping peacefully. Along with this, was the extremely loud traffic. This hotel sits on the corner of two streets, so you get traffic in both directions. It was very loud all night. The "restaurant" is also small and not very welcoming.

It had a great view of the river from the upper floor room. The price was fair and the staff was really friendly at check in. Room was clean. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront after a concert at the nearby Princess Theater. Although the Fairfield Inn was closer, we chose the DoubleTree, hoping the extra $10 per night would bring a touch of Hilton elegance. Unfortunately, we were mistaken. This DoubleTree reminds me of Miss Havisham from the Dickens novel—clinging to an outdated image of elegance while reality tells another story. Despite the Hilton name, this hotel offers a mediocre experience, only slightly above a budget motel. Service was lackluster at best. Each time I approached the front desk, I had to interrupt staff conversations. At checkout, I dropped my keys without even a nod of acknowledgment from the staff member nearby. The layout was confusing, with unclear parking for non-diamond level guests. Our room was basic and didn’t live up to the Hilton standard. The HVAC system was dated and lacked a wall thermostat, so we struggled to reach a comfortable temperature. We paid extra for a "river view," only to discover it was distant, with buildings blocking any real view of the river. We ended up keeping the curtains closed. The one bright spot was the breakfast buffet, which was good but came at an additional $7 fee. Worse, I had to ask for the breakfast coupon on the morning of our departure, instead of it being provided at check-in. If we had the choice again, we’d skip this DoubleTree. The experience here has certainly affected our opinion of the brand moving forward.

We stayed in the same room as the previous year, it has a beautiful view out of the large windows and that is what made us love it. But we did notice blemish issues like the chipping on the bottom of the bathroom door. Some cosmetic issues here and there. The bed was uncomfortable, we both woke with pain in our sides. We should have made a request for more pillows as there were four and they were fairly flat.

the air conditioner very loud, curtains did not hang right, TV remote you had to press real hard to change the channel.

It's nice for an event, but the rooms are old and small.

Room was comfortable and clean. But 2 things 1- they only gave us 2 towels 2- the bed was AWFUL. After laying down the whole center caved in and we were falling into a hole the entire night

View was great, Food was Amazing and plenty of room in my Suite. AC did mess up but a simple call to the front desk I was up and back going before i can even get hot..Staff was very friendly, so its well worth the stay... Thanks for such a great team.

Decent location, over priced for a "river view" that is mostly rooftop and other buildings. Check in was not at 4pm like advertised due to room not being ready. Was unable to check in til 530. Staff was apologetic but was unable to do much which i do understand, just was frustrating.

Unfortunately, this hotel is extremely understaffed with a crew of very new employees. Our room was ready at 8:20 instead of the stated 4:00.

Room wasn’t ready on time and had to wait 2 hours. First room had ants all over the bed and had to change rooms. Food was fine, rooms were dark. Short staffed and nothing done to comp us for either inconvenience

Check in was quick. Leo was so nice and accommodating at the front desk. View was great from our room. We booked river view. My son wanted the experience to stay at a Hotel and he loved every moment. We will definitely stay again, thank you Hilton!

We stayed 3 days and never once got housekeeping to come to the room... not until the very last day, they came by at 9 in the morning ( used their key) to see if the room was vacant yet.. I will never stay at this hotel again

A nice spot to use as a base for looking around this part of Alabama. It has a decent pool and the top floors have a good view of the river. The restaurant is closed except for breakfast. It was very clean, but the bathroom ceiling had peeling paint. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful.

Exit onto highway out of parking lot is very dangerous. Very limited visibility. Need to trim or remove bushes.

The hotel restaurant had a nice menu selection, portions were just right and the selections we made were great. We arrived later in the evening and it was nice being able to have a good meal without having to hunt down a restaurant in the area that didn't close at 9pm.

Have stayed there many times. Food is not as good as it used to be.

We stayed one night and the hotel was very nice. They have each of us a warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookie at check-in. We spent some time at the pool that evening with others from our group and it was a great atmosphere. Breakfast was very good although not complementary.

No free breakfast or coffee. Most hotels offer complimentary coffee in lobby.

Family vacation!! The Hilton was great. Hot cookies when you arrive made my husband and granddaughters day. The rooms were very clean and staff was very friendly. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast which was delicious. It included buffet and beverage was $15 but well worth it. We also ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. My husband and granddaughter said it was the best hamburger they have ever eaten. Will be back when we are that way again. Thanks for such a pleasant stay.

We were in room 526. The shampoo dispenser and the shower gel dispenser were both empty! There was a Starbucks in the lobby. The girl working that that their machine had been broken for a week!
