Hampton Inn Phoenix/Anthem

Very clean property. I felt very safe leaving my vehicle in the parking lot overnight.

Great location right off highway with anything you can need close by. Clean, comfy, spacious room with attentive, kind & articulate staff. Good coffee all the time in lobby. Great breakfast till 10am, eggs, turkey sausage, potatoes, pastries, oatmeal, cereal and real fruit. Gym was kept up & nice enough with a mat, free weights, balls, treadmills, elliptical, reg bike & peloton bike! Pool was shaded, in the parking lot just a regular square outdoor hotel pool. Plenty of parking felt safe & lots of food & stores in walking distance.

Room was dirty with hair in tub, old crusty food stuck to desk, white powder on floor and side table. Rooms are very dark, parking lot is limited when they get big semis and trucks with trailers. Elavator is slow, morning front desk staff seemed bothered when trying to check out.

Everything was super easy from check in to check out. Awesome breakfast with stay. Close to Lake Pleasant, shopping, groceries, restaurants, fast food and circle K right across the street. Beautiful clean pool and jacuzzi. Rooms are clean and sleeps up to 6 comfortable on 2 queen beds and pullout sofa. Single cup coffee makers in room with small refrigerator. Downstairs has a small microwave.

Pool, staff, breakfast were all very good. Great launch point to many destinations...

Bathroom tub stopper was broken and should have been noted before our arrival. Hotel was fine overall and a great pool area and nice layout. Only real problem was our need for a wake-up call at 5:30am, which the hotel mistakenly programmed for 4:30am. Then when calling down to the desk and asking them to reinput for 5:30am, that never did. Fortunately we allowed extra time to catch our flight out of Phoenix 40 miles south. Also, it would help if the desk people would warn drivers of the heavy construction going on on Hgwy #17 and stop saying "it only takes 45 minutes to get to Sky Harbor" ,not when the actual highway was totally closed for at least 10 miles causing drivers to follow a detour adding another 20-25 minutes to the airport. Fortunately for us, it was a Saturday, so the traffic was relatively light, but still typical Phoenix.

The pool is beautiful. The hotel is very clean. Stores and shopping everywhere. Circkle K right across the street. It was a nice stay.

We have had such a wonderful day. The room is beautiful, comfortable. The breakfast was really good. The friendliness of the staff is awesome. Enjoyed the swimming pool, and the hot tub.

The room had a horrendous smell. No way to move us to a different room as the hotel was full…gave us 50 dollars as a refund…

What I did not like was our original room had a really strong smell as if it been heavily sprayed with fabreeze to cover up a really bad smell, it did not work. We moved rooms to the second floor room 212 which did not smell, however the below the widow air conditioning was completely worn out. When ever the compressor switched on for cooling it was like having a diesel pickup next to the bed. Not one nights good sleep. The breakfast for the room price I did not expect a lot but synthetic eggs, micron thick bacon on one day only. Very poor. The competition is Holiday inn express and they win hands down. I would not stay here again

Some of the staff was very pleasant, manager extremely rude. Try to address a cockroach problem with her. Wasn’t asking for my money back or anything in return just wanted to let her know the issue at hand. And also that they have not taken the garbage on the second floor out for two days and it was overflowing to the ground. She was very defensive said that because she had a pool that is why they had cockroaches and they really weren’t cockroaches. They were water bugs, I said look all I’m trying to do is let you know that you have a serious problem here they are All over the place at night when I come out here to smoke. She replied well if you’re out here looking for them I guess you’ll find them. I didn’t have to look when they’re crawling all over the place.

It was not as clean as it could be. There were eyelashes and hair on our sheets and pillowcases. We wondered if they’d been replaced between guests. The bath tub was clogged and was slow to drain, which was a little gross. However, in general the staff was kind and helpful. Except the lady who checked me in, she gave me the keys and called it a day. A little more information like, where my room was located, info on their complimentary breakfast or giving me the checkout times would have been helpful. But, maybe she just was having an off moment.

There was a terrible smell come up from the drain line in the bathroom which made the room smell awful. We had to go down to the lobby and ask for something to spray in the room. The curtain chain was broke so we had to rig up a blanket to block the light so we could sleep. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

When we arrive, the person at the front desk was not friendly. When we got to the room, the room smelled like a urine. We had to spray the room down. The AC would not go below 70 in Phoenix. That’s extremely hot. We are from Northern Arizona, not used to the heat.

The property smelt really bad! The hallways and the rooms smelt bad. I had two rooms for two nights. There were several beatles in one of our bathrooms. I realize it's located in the desert but it wasn't the most comfortable to wake up to beatles crawling across the floor at 2 in the morning, while using the restroom.The smell was as if they needed to change their air conditioning filters. A mildew smell kind of! I have stayed there in the past, and it's gone down hill big time. I won't be staying at this specific hotel anymore. Very disappointed in my stay this time.

Overall good. The air conditioning unit in the room was loud.

Bed was comfortable

We requested to change rooms as our first room had 2 queens, but one bed was so squeaky and very annoying. The front desk person, I think she may have been a manager, accommodated us with a new room. We just had to wait a bit before it was ready-no problem for us. She also mentioned there were a number of rooms that had squeaky beds…humm. The new room had a very slow moving drain which was also annoying and left the sink dirty. All in all the hotel was one and a half miles from family and that was convenient for us. Next visit we will probably choose another hotel.

All great; AC in room had a very loud clunking noise when it shut off.

Room 233 has a climate control unit that responds to temperature settings but there is no functioning “power off “ thus the blower stays on 24/7. Front desk says it is not fixable and has been this way for years. They could switch our room. How about over the years switching out the unit? Earplugs worked and we were otherwise very comfortable.

The only other room available had a much softer mattress, so we had to stay where we were for three nights. Exhausted. We also had an incident with someone trying to gain entry into our room. Thankfully, we had the secondary lock on the door, but they managed to unlock the door and try to push it open--twice. When I reported to the front desk the following morning, they dismissed it as it was probably a staff member. " At 10 p.m.?" When I reported to the manager via email upon checkout on Monday (she was out all weekend), she basically told me I was mistaken, as her logs didn't show any entry with the locks. Really?! Experienced traveler, and I know when someone is trying to enter the room. Unbelievable. I've also never been told I was lying and "mistaken" because their logs didn't show any entries. What? There are no cameras, so they basically told me I was imagining things, and with a very strong implication that I made it up. Unreal. Avoid this property--completely mismanaged.

Rooms were average and in need of updating! Especially the bed, bed skirt was torn and old looking, desk chair was not really a desk chair and very low, lighting aside from bathroom was not good. And why is the shower curtain short so that no matter how hard I tried, floor got wet.

The AC/heater is under the window and it was pretty cold and rainy when we arrived so we set the thermostat on 70 on the unit gauge. We turned it off when we left the next day. It had rained and we don’t know how it happened but the carpet was soaked. Unless the AC was running, we didn’t think there should have been any condensation. The coffee maker did not work right. Shower good, breakfast fine. Typical Hampton but pretty expensive.

Staff during check in was not very friendly. We had several friends checking in same day and all had the same experience.

We’ve stayed at this hotel 3x. It’s close to family. We’ve enjoyed it. The staff is always so nice! This time after a long drive we checked in after eight. The lady at the front desk did not give good customer care. Not friendly at all. I thought maybe she was having a bad day but, always had the same attitude. Everyone else was very good.

I have stayed at this property numerous times in the past. Upon arrival for a confirmed reservation they refused to accept my temporary Texas Drivers License. The front desk gave me NO alternative such as; my physical credit card to obtain the reservation, the Orbitz confirmation text message, my previous stay history AND my Hilton Rewards Account. Plus, they offered to cancel the reservation, to which I agreed and I exited the property to a Marriott Fairfield Inn 30 miles away. This morning 4/22/25 I found that the reservation had NOT been canceled and the full amount charged to my credit card. Of course, the charge has been disputed and credited to my account. This may be a "one off" incident and I will never stay at a Hilton property in the future.

Shocking behavior from front desk staff – completely unacceptable! I’ve never had such a horrible experience at a hotel. The older woman at the front desk (white, heavy-set, with gray hair — no name tag) was not just rude — she was manipulative, aggressive, and verbally abusive in front of my young children. She won’t wear a name tag and won’t give you her name, but her name is Toni. I spoke to a younger, kind lady at the front desk the following morning and she knew exactly who I was talking about and gave me her name. She told me I am not the first one to complain about her and that it is mandatory to wear a name tag. My child was left crying, afraid we were going to be arrested — all because of Toni’s lies and power-tripping. This woman is toxic and unfit to be in hospitality. Based on other Google reviews, this isn’t an isolated incident. Hampton, do better. Guests deserve respect and basic decency — not emotional manipulation and threats especially with YOUNG CHILDREN there!

Very nice place to stay. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of hot and cold food options as well as a nice small coffee bar with syrup and cream choices. Really enjoyed our overnight stay.

This is a very fine hotel with very comfortable beds, clean nice bathroom, very good breakfast included, well maintained property. Also very close to shopping, restaurants, fast food, in a very clean beautiful city. Very nice employees.

The hotel is was clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was top notch. The oatmeal was the best I have ever had.

Your public bathrooms do not have seat covers. Totally unsanitary. Your breakfast was awful. Potatoes dry, eggs had no flavor.

Clean room and comfy bed. A/C worked great with optional fan on option which was important as our room was next to the elevator. The best part was a noon checkout and breakfast had two flavors of waffles in 2 sizes-mini and standard! How fun! We'd never seen that before. Plus scrambled eggs and maple sausage patties, seasoned potatoes, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal with toppings, and pastries. The juice dispenser was set to watery (disappointing), but there were great tea flavors and 2 creamer choices (I'm always surprised at how uncommon that is nowadays!) with 24 hour coffee in the lobby. We would definitely come back.

The breakfast was good but we were there a month and would have appreciated more variety. a mixed fruit dish would have been nice. the fresh fruit was not always in the best condition either. The rolls were the same every day and although good, variety would have been appreciated.
