Arizona Grand Resort

Wow! Is the first word that comes into my mind when thinking of this place. We booked it last minute because we were changing hotels and my GOD this place is beautiful, clean and so very central to getting places around Phoenix! It was about 20 minutes from every cute and scenic downtown restaurant and 15 minutes from the Phoenix Airport. There was 5 pools and a whole waterpark WITH a lazy river and 2 slides. We enjoyed the afternoon at the waterpark - in which there was so much space so we didn’t feel it was overly crowded, loud or dirty from people being scattered all over. After we left the waterpark we ate downtown came back and saw they had a Disney movie playing on the projecter at the waterpark- so FUN. The gold course was HUGE & the landscape so gorgeous my jaw dropped everytime we saw it. The highlight of the resort in my opinion is the gym. For people who like to workout on vacation This gym is probably bigger and better than the one you pay for at home. Every single equipment, dumbbell , workout piece you can think of is in this 20,000 sq ft gym. The spa is also attached so as soon as you walk in you feel the cleanliness and the relaxedness of the space. If I could give this resort 100 stars I would. The bed was extremely comfortable and soft the room was huge and spacious ! Everything felt so luxurious and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. If you need a great resort this is the best option.

The golf carts

Great property and amenities. Water park was a bonus.

The staff were all so wonderful. The room was really pretty and had nice artistic touches. The water park was really fun and a great way to beat the heat. There was an adult only pool too that felt very secluded and peaceful. Aunt Chiladas was tasty. We were always able to easily get a ride on a golf cart around the property which was very helpful in the heat.

We loved this resort and will definitely return. The amenities, including the amazing water park and multiple pools outside of the water park, kept us busy. The spa and gym were a great size and the suites are spacious and comfortable.

Pool area was a disaster, outside people can buy day passes and it was a packed madhouse. Hard to get food and drinks, staff was unable to manage guests in areas where you had to have a reservation for the pool. Not impressed at all, we will not return. Room was nice, that’s about the only positive I have

Oasis park was great fun!

Loved having the golf cart pick ups and drop offs to areas on the property.

Hot tubs were cold, elevators were not working. Check in was at 4 and the Oasis closed at 5. Our shower curtain was busted and broken. We have stayed here several times and this was by far our worst stay.

Dirty water park. Band aids and a lot of vegetation in the water. Would have been really easy to clean if all the staff would take 10 min every few hours by using nets to help cleaning the water. Lots of employees just look at the dirt every day without doing nothing. They don't seem to clean the beach chairs. Found them dirty every morning. Prices are outrageous for a mediocre water park.

We checked in and our room was dirty, there were crumbs all over the table, dirt all over the floor l, even food left in the TV stand and the bed had little black, specs of something all over the sheets. Then I called the front desk and they moved us to a room 2 doors down and it didn't have any patio furniture so we had to carry it ourselves from the old room to the new room. Once settled into the new room the stay was fine but I was very put off by the initial 1st impression of the room.

Wonderful resort with a few downsides. Amenities are amazing! Restaurants (are ridiculously expensive), water park, very nice common areas to hangout. Staff were always very kind. The rooms are the catch. They’re old, small, and DIRTY. Our one year old had black knees after crawling around for maybe 10min. We had them come & mop & it was still filthy, so it must’ve been the carpets. The rooms need a seeeeerious upgrade to match the rest of the resort! The grounds are stunning though!

Rooms were very tired and old. Floors damp and stained, bathtub stained and moldy, rooms smelled. Property itself looked pretty and staff was kind but we didn’t stay as the smell was so overpowering we had headaches, sore throats and were dizzy

Clean rooms

No shampoo in my shower just conditioner and two body washes, mini fridge smelled like poop, iron left in middle of bathroom sink, hair on floor and toilet. Lazy river water stinked.

The company has taken some very good photos of the rooms! The fold out couch mattress was a bunch of springs wrapped in fabric. The kitchenette was VERY basic. The wave pool washed up a lot of bandaids...

The property was nice and clean

FRIENDLY STAFF. BEAUTIFUL PLACE. VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. WOULD RECOMMEND. WE ALL HAD A GREAT TIME. NICE FOR ALL AGES.

Rooms seem a bit out dated. No patio furniture was a bummer and not enough golf cart staff. But otherwise the stay was nice

We loved staying here! The staff was very friendly. We stayed in the king suite and it was very cozy. The only downfall was that there was no microwave and they wanted $10 a night to add one. The private pools for the suites were incredible and overall it was a lovely place to stay.

Our rooms were spacious and clean. Given the location being so close to I-10, I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet and peacful our rooms were. The grounds are safe and well maintained. Did not care for the scheduled parties until 4am..we had meetings at 7am, was not able to get good sleep

I love going to the Arizona Grand for staycations with my children. We celebrate summer birthdays at the water park! The staff is friendly and helpful, and the property is clean and comfortable. The regular beds are incredibly comfortable, but the fold out beds are ridiculously uncomfortable! Anyone who is relegated to a fold out bed in a suite will sleep on a thin mattress with hard springs. I pad them with blankets to make them workable.

This property is huge, we went to the water park and found 2 of the 6 outdoor pools! There are wonderful restaurants with in 7 mins of the resort. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, AC works amazingly and the beds are very comfortable! I am definitely coming back!

We loved our stay! The pools, hot tubs and lazy river were perfect after a day of hiking! The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room we had was set up a little different. The bathroom was extra small & the sink was in the bedroom basically. This was in the Sedona building. We would definitely stay again but pay closer attention to the layout of the room.

Pros: Hotel Staff was exceptional and rooms were extremely clean. Cons: Rooms are a bit outdated, super crowded, poor parking. Overall,..If Carnival Cruise were a resort, it would be this.

I've stayed there before but this time the room was hot we had to ask for a fan but in Arizona that's definitely not enough and other details I didn't like

At check in the host was with a Meh attitude. Not nice but not rude. The room was not ready even though it was 30 min passed check in. We were offered to downgrade to a smaller room for the same price so yey! We took it as we did not have an eta on the other room! The Oasis park was amazing! The fireworks took the cake! Our room was great, clean had what we needed. The toilet was running water constantly and was loud at night as it would flush every 5 min or so. The guest upstairs were very loud and I heard stomping way passed midnight. I get you can’t control people but some soundproofing would go a long way. It was not quiet and we did not sleep well.

This was one of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed! The staff was so nice, everyone that I met was helpful and kind. The property is a little outdated but the rooms are super cute and all the public areas are kept really clean so I didn’t even care about the exterior stuff. The water park was awesome! It was pretty crowded one day but still never had a problem getting a tube for the lazy river. Lots of kids and families, but still was really fun for adults. The grounds are huge, but there are golf carts everywhere with staff to take you between destinations. They kept stopping to ask if I needed one which I thought was nice. Azul at the front desk at check in was the nicest ever. A really great experience overall!

Absolutely horrible stay please make sure you guys check you bank accounts after checking in I made the mistake in trusting and they completely ruined my Birthday weekend after paying over 900$ they had the audacity to for no reason at all take an extra separate charge of 549$ couldn’t give me no reason then made it like it was no big deal get over it you’ll get back in 3/5 business days it’s up to your bank?!! Like Excuse me whyyyy did you guys do it in the first place got. A bunch of hmmm not sure no reason like their went the rest of my birthday plans & then gave me some bunk corporate number to find out. Then started thinking back how they didn’t even give us a receipt at check in and to top it off after we was leaving at check out another couple was going through their charges questioning it as well!!!! Definitely will be reaching out to BBB!!! To report this completely unacceptable!!!

We are from Green Valley AZ and wanted to check out Arizona Grand for a future family reunion (16 from 4 states). Poor check in process - gave NO info on resort (where pools -Camelback pool was FREEZING- , , towels, ice machines, internet connection, how get into Oasis and what available activities. NO concierge to give ideas of what to outside. I had spent hours talking . to staff pre visit to see rooms for possible reunion and no one knew anything at our check in! Finally after arriving and next day being “routed” to EIGHT people finally we got a golf cart driver (Matt was the ONLY friendly person we encountered) who showed us some rooms. Our room was really not nice and quite outdated and rather shabby with plain furniture and dull carpets. It was hard opening bathroom door with door bumping on toilet. There were no wine glasses available and frig was set at 45 degrees keeping husbands required meds too warm. Ouch and chairs and even bed were not comfortable - I came home with a backache. Friendliness was VERY lacking - lifeguards were ignoring and did not give help and not friendly, I was very disappointed in staff responses to guests. On a positive note - we did enjoy the Rustlers Roost and Matt our golf cart guide was friendly, sweet and helpful. The grounds were very well kept up and beautiful. The Camelback pool was very very cold when I went in to do some water aerobics. Do not know why it was not heated ? We still are considering the reunion

The water park was great. Sitting area furniture and bedroom nightstands were old and need of updating. Front office should give more information. Had to figure out Wi-Fi, safe and dining options.

I didn't like that I booked my family's vacation (there were 7 of us) at this resort only to learn that they were resurfacing the pool for more than half of our stay. The worst part is that I actually called before booking to make sure the waterpark would be available to us and was given a resounding "yes, of course it'll be open that week!". Lies. this miscommunication literally ruined my trip so truly bad job by the front desk girl there. The managers were nice and listened to my grievances but it could not be undone that I spent thousands to travel to a waterpark resort only to be told the waterpark was closed for ROUTINE maintenance. Not a surprise resurfacing, they knew it was coming - and failed to mention it to me when I called the resort before booking. Super bummed as I was looking forward to splashing in the wave pool with my kids all week but instead paid more money to visit the aquarium and lego land and all these other expensive endeavors that I could have done in any city.

Easy check in. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. The Oasis is nice and the family enjoyed it. Only cons is everything is overpriced on the property and house keeping was at our door at 9 am for an 11am check out.

I have stayed at the Arizona Grand several times. Plus my daughter had her wedding at the Grand 15 years ago. This stay was the best! You could tell there was a positive culture for the employees as the customer service was outstanding! Not only was I was upgraded to a villa suite right in front of the waterpark and close to parking but the staff went above and beyond to please and accommodate. So happy to see the Grand well maintained and so well run!!!

Centrally located to dinning, malls and easy access to I10

The room we stayed at was on mountainside right next to the highway and it was very noisy. Housekeeping didn’t come until the evenings when we were back in our room after being out all day so it was very inconvenient.

This was an incredible resort to stay at for our family vacation. The kids really enjoyed the water park and pools. The lobby area is fancy, there is a Starbucks onsite and a full service Starbucks within walking distance. The resort is located next to many different activities and restaurants. The room we stayed in was spacious and cleaned everyday. The grounds, walkways were always clean, staff were super helpful and kind.

They should do a better job on the map of the property they provide to their guests. It is very "general" and unless you are very familiar with the property a little confusing. They should have a detailed map of each group of rooms. Walt Disney World is 100 times larger; but they have detailed maps of each section of rooms (at least online).

Stay and property were amazing. The thing that wasn’t amazing. There is no signage to show where the lobby was. I drove around the property for 20 minutes. Went into three different buildings before finding the lobby. Google maps brings you to the back of the property. It was frustrating after a long day of travel to have to going on an additional quest.

The resort was nice. The surrounding area seemed less safe.

Our kids didn’t enjoy the water park but lots of kids do. The hotel is very comfortable. We balked at the prices. $67 for two burgers and two fries at the water park concession stand. That sort of sent us packing. In and out is right next door.

For a resort the restaurants they offer are absolutely terrible and way over priced. The food the resort offers isn’t too bad but also overly expensive. They don’t ever change the bedsheets as well

Our stay was wonderful. The service at the restaurant in the lobby wasn’t as good as we’d have liked. The food and service at Aunt Chilada’s was amazing. We loved the oasis water park and the staff there. The grounds are beautiful and we felt very safe tucked away on the property. It’s very well taken care of. We would come again!

The property was nice but our room needed an update. We had to ask for new sheets several times because the ones on the bed when we checked in were dirty as was the new set the brought us. The Oasis was fun but the food and drinks are way OVERPRICED and we couldn’t take in our own food for our GF daughter because they have “option.” If a dry $20 hamburger is called an “option” it wasn’t worth it. It was fun but won’t be going back.

Great location and the overall property. Their prices for food and drinks are outrageous though. I understand resorts increasing prices for the ease of everything but they were to the next level.

Parking was a little difficult, but everything else was great. Wonderful dinner at Rustlers Roost.

The water park was great. The food and drinks are overpriced. The room price was a good value. But you end up paying a lot for food that is nothing spectacular.

The food by the pool was god awful. We had a group of 20 and not one of us liked anything we ordered. He also need to hire more staff for the lobby restaurant. I waited about 45 minutes, even just to get a drink. Also when we were in The pool by our rooms, a party of about 35 kids snuck into the pool. They were clearly not staying at the resort and it ruined our time to where we left and went back to our rooms.

Waterpark was very clean. Food is extremely overpriced in every restaurant and takeout spot though.

The property was, sort of, like we remembered. We had been there several times before. Upon arrival, we were very pleased with our room. We had a Camelback room, facing the pool, so that was perfect. The room was clean and relatively quiet for sleeping. We chose not to have maid service, since we were in and out a lot. The parking situation needs work, but wasn’t terrible. We had to search a lot for parking around the building. The true complaint we had was the cost of food and drinks. To say it’s ridiculous is an understatement, and they made sure it was difficult to have anything in your room. This is considered a resort, without a true resort feel (we’ve been to a few). To have $20 drinks at a pool with plastic cups and chairs is going a little far. We used to come and hang out at the pool all day because the food was decently priced and tasty. Now we went back to our room at mealtimes, after one of us went to grab something else in the area. We continually went to the local grocery store to grab water, sodas, snacks and cold breakfast items. It looked as though this was a common theme with most guests. The feel of the employees at the Oasis is much different also. Where they used to have employees greet you as you came in, now it’s several of them lining the entrance to make sure you aren’t bringing in outside food by searching bags - definitely not friendly. If you want to make money, make it about your guests, not the bottom line. There’s a fine line there.
