Very nice lodge! Great golf course. Walking distance. The 18 hole putting course at the lodge was awesome!! Great cantina across the sreet and good dining in the main lodge. Highly recommend.

We stayed at The Quail for two nights. The staff, including the manager on site were wonderful, so helpful and kind towards us and our two little boys. They gave us an upgrade for a better room, and it was generous size and comfortable. Our boys had a lot of fun on the property playing mini golf, and completing activities for kids the card and winning a little gift. All kids were also given a free s’mores kit to roast marshmallows by their many communal fire pits. The room was clean and we had an outdoor sheltered dining table, which was nice for meals. We also had two patio chairs by the golf course if you just want to sit, relax and people watch. The property is located 10 minutes from Carmel’s main city Centre. Parking on site was complimentary. The environment was calm, serene and beautiful. The pool was heated to a comfortable 86 degrees F. We highly recommend this properly, and will definitely be back when we’re in Carmel again.

Nice, spacious room for our family of four. Front desk and housekeeping staff were very helpful and prompt. Pool, gym, steam room, tennis court, and putting greens were well maintained. Little bonuses like daily wine hour and smores kits made the place very special. Really enjoyed our stay.

I don’t recommend staying here. I called in advance to ensure I would be able to get connecting rooms because we are traveling with baby and grandparents. We arrive and are told are rooms are connecting—turns out they are adjacent and the person checking us in doesn’t event know what connecting or adjoining rooms are. Then we get a room switch in day 2 to connecting rooms but the rooms smell like they were doused in bleach. So we are all sick the entire night, nauseous from the toxic fumes. The hotel does nothing about it, offers a bottle of wine and a late check out and a free meal which is crap given the prices we paid to stay here. Once the smell of bleach fades away, we discover that the bathroom in the king room actually smells like fecal matter due to long overdue plumbing issues!!!! So disgusting. Hoping to get some money back. Because this place is a bio-hazard.

We paid almost a $1,000 per night and expected more. There were things left over from the previous family that stayed in our room. The bedding was missing. No top sheet on the beds. The beds were not cleaned. They ran out of maple syrup and coffee!!! How does that happen? The room was a large size which was nice. They did not re-fill the coffee room amenities everyday. The in room fridge was not very cold. Dinner at the local restaurant was a rip off. We are fine paying more for amazing meals but we were served half a piece of toast and tomato soup for $20 that was not even very good! This place is more $500 a night.

Overall, excellent property. We loved playing the 9-hole putting course and the board games by the fireplace. My only feedback would be that our room facing the pond had a frog croaking outside for the evening and there was some mold in our shower, but generally, very nice property!

Great location - short drive to Carmel by the Sea and Monterey. The valley is warmer and more likely to have sunshie compared to Carmel by the sea. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We walked around the golf course every morning and enjoyed the pool in the afternoons. The food at the grill bar restaurant was decent. Our room was spacious and well equipped. It was overlooking the golf course so the view was amazing. The bathroom was really big; one issue is that the ventilation in the bathroom was not sufficient so there was some smell due to humidity. They need to upgrade the ventilation and have a diffuser for the smell.

One of the nicer hotels in the Carmel area that have AC. Beds were comfortable but pillows were not. We liked the bathroom shower but it’s definitely looking a bit dated w cord telephone next to toilet. Property and grounds are kept beautifully with golf course and gorgeous rose bushes and nice flowers. Not walkable but about 10/15 mins from awesome restaurants in Carmel. Felt safe at property. Complimentary smores for kids every night!

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and had such a great time. The resort was beautiful and well kept. The check in process was fast and easy and all the staff was extremely kind. Since we are Gold members through Expedia, our room was automatically upgraded which was great because our room was spacious yet cozy and cute! The only complaint I have is every time the heater stopped, there was a loud clicking noise that kept me up and there’s no microwave. Other than that, it was a beautiful resort with lots to do in the surrounding areas. The Village is about a 10 min drive where they have 30 wine tasting rooms so I recommended checking that out if you love wine! We will definitely be coming back here.

We had a really wonderful stay here for our anniversary weekend. We arrived a little before check in and were grateful they were able let us into our room early. These rooms are huge! It's almost like having your own little suite, complete with a little backyard patio area. There was also a full tub which is always appreciated since I love a good soak. Definitely more than just a nice place to rest our heads, this was a cozy place to call home for the weekend. We ventured off campus quite a bit but there was also lots to do here onsite, including a nice restaurant (reviewed separately), putting holes and complimentary putters, sipping hour from 3-4 and (my favorite) fire pits and complimentary s'mores kits! This was such a cute idea and just made the trip even more memorable than your typical hotel stay. Neither my husband nor I are golfers but we had fun practicing. It was also nice that the hotel was dog friendly so we could bring our dog with us around the property and there was plenty of grassy area for her. While I didn't make use of the fitness center, my husband appreciated that the pool was heated for his swims. The fitness center is modest (three rooms: one of cardio with a few treadmills, one for strength training with some dumbbells and a small rack, and one for yoga/stretching) but there is plenty here for everyone. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again and will recommend it for anyone else visiting Carmel!

The Quail Lodge is a beautiful property. Perfect if you like golf and being in the peace and quiet. We didn’t find the front desk associated to be particularly helpful nor did we receive our upgraded room. Parking was easy, limited eating options, and the pool was lovely.

Perfect location, texted the day before asking if there was anything we needed prior to our arrival, texted every morning to see if we needed anything- asked for a few extra things that they delivered right away. We will 100% be returning, This is now our go to place, when we visit the area. They even graciously delivered my boyfriend’s birthday cake and mimosas the morning of his birthday.

We arrived late around 1045pm due to heavy rain. Upon arrival, there was no one to greet us. I watched this person brag loudly about what he and his friends did. Until finally after 5 minutes of listening , I finally interrupted him to say that I am checking in. We checked in. First he didn’t introduce himself , He Didn’t offer to help with luggage. So we had to walk around at nighttime in the heavy rain to look for our room. We decided to stay at the Quail Lodge because this is supposed to be a sister hotel of one of my favorite hotels , The Peninsula. Unfortunately, the Quail customer service is severely lacking.

Such a wonderful and relaxing stay. Thanks to all the staff at Quail Lodge: Hannah, Thomas, Erin, Jaden, Edgar, housekeepers, grounds crew, (everyone). We had a great pickleball lesson with Leslie! The food was terrific at the Covey Grill. My husband said it was his best meal in Carmel. Almost all our meals were from the Covey Grill. In room breakfast was great, the convenient text order breakfast was very easy to do. And it was dog friendly. Thanks for a great holiday weekend👍

Gorgeous property in a quieter section of Carmel with easy access to Carmel Valley, Carmel By the Sea, and Monterey. Our family really enjoyed exploring the grounds and playing on the 9 hole putting course. We unknowingly booked our stay during Monterey Car Week, so some of the property amenities (golf, tennis, some restaurants) were not available during our stay. However, Jennifer from the front desk worked her magic to make our stay fantastic despite the surprise. If you stay at the Quail, be sure to check out the nearby Hacienda and Wagon wheel for family fun and a great breakfast, respectively.

We liked the greenery scene. The trail walks were awesome which took us to the Carmel river. It was very beautiful. The staff was awesome and cordial. Met us with a wine of glass at checking in and offered a wine glass every day from 3-4pm. .

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Quail Lodge! We dined at both Edgar’s and Covey Grill—both meals were absolutely amazing, and the service was excellent. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful, and the views from our room were beautiful. We also loved the little touches like s’mores in the evening and access to clubs for the putting green. We’ll definitely be back!

Very comfortable and relaxing stay, my friend has high standards when it comes to hotels and the lodge did not disappoint! Every detail was well thought out both in the room and throughout the property. We used the pool, the steam room, putting greens, lakeside dining and breakfast room service, enjoyed every minute!

This was my second stay. Beautiful property on a golf course. The premium rooms have great patios and wonderful views. There are putting greens which is fun and great hiking close by. The first time the Covey restaurant was closed. This time it was open and it was one of the best tasting meals I've had in a long time. The kitchen was backed up and it took 45 min to get the food and the waiter and manager seemed to disappear rather than providing any info on the delay which wasn't really professional, but when the food came it was top notch. Next to Ventana and Post Ranch this is one of my favorite places.
