Great job. Beautiful location. Parking is limited but I suppose that is to be expected for the area. Breakfast being delivered was an awesome touch. How could anyone say no to a beautiful basket of breakfast delivered every morning. We took our dog and the fact that the place was dog friendly was very good as well. The location is also a very short walk to downtown.

Lovely one night stay with my husband. This hotel is nicely situated. Quiet but still walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the beach. EV charging was also a big plus! Our room was very clean, comfortable and cozy. Decorations were tasteful. Loved the small fountain in our entry way + balcony and fireplace. The bed and pillows were a little soft for our liking. The breakfast basket was so cute. We appreciate little touches like that, including the chocolate chip cookies upon check in. Our biggest complaint would be the WI-FI speed. Super duper slow! Otherwise a really nice stay. We would consider returning for sure!

The room and property were great. We would have liked labels on the light switches (remembering which lights did what was confusing) and slippers in the room. Loved the breakfast basket and the Tesla charger!

The staff was super friendly and the hotel was clean and well kept. However, be mindful of which floor they put you on. I requested a high floor when I booked my room months ago, but got a first floor room, even though I checked in 30 minutes before check in began. Our room was right next to the staircase, and every time someone walked up the stairs, we could hear it in our room. we could also hear the guests in the room above us walking around and talking. I don’t even think they were talking loudly. The fountain in our room also stopped working after the first night. I didn’t bother notifying the hotel about it because I assumed it was probably on a timer, which I thought was a nice touch, but it never turned back on. We also had to park on the street the 2 nights we stayed. Thankfully we found a nearby spot both times (one night around the block), but for a rate close to $500/night, we were expecting a least a parking spot on site, and a quiet room. Our room was next to the fountain they have in the common area, which was nice. It sounded like there was a gentle stream outside. And they light tiki torches and a fire pit at night which we could also see from our room. It was nice to be nearby the main strip and walk everywhere. You walk downhill to get to all the shops, restaurants, beaches, but have to walk uphill to get back to hotel. It didn’t bother us, but something others should know.

Having stayed in Carmel for about 30 years at least twice a year I’ve experienced many of the hotels in different price ranges. I didn’t know much about this hotel, except what I read about it online. First of all, it was very reasonably priced so affordable for people to come down from the Bay Area For a night or two. Secondly, it was upgraded and very clean. The front desk was phenomenal. We actually got to park our electric car with a free charge through the night. Our room was beautiful as were the amenities on a scale of 0 to 10 I would definitely give this place a 10.

Asian-themed decor with tranquil gardens, sitting areas and fountains. It is a well-kept older property that is NOT at all shabby. Grounds swept and cleaned every morning. Parking on a holiday weekend is tough in Carmel by the Sea area. We left our car parked and walked to dinner each evening. Helpful staff and breakfast are delivered each am . Clean and well appointed rooms. Only negative..a small shower.

The location is good. The room had an unpleasant odor that the staff said came from Stained furniture. The place was clean - cleaning staff came a bit early in the morning, opening the door without knocking. The room configuration was also off as we had little closet space - neither bag fit into the closet. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The grounds were very well kept and peaceful and very clean. The staff was very nice and even helped carry our bags from the car to the room. The room was very nice with the sound of a small water fountain inside. We had a nice patio to catch the afternoon sun, and the bed was comfortable. We felt the shower was a little small for us but it was manageable. The location is a short walk to downtown with a little bit of an uphill incline coming back which might be hard for some people. Parking was not hard, but we were there during the week. Would stay here again. We were here in February.

The grounds are beautifully decorated and inspire serenity. For the price though, the carpet was stained, the side table lamp had a terrible odor, the tiles in bathroom were coming off and the tub sealant was cracked. We did enjoy the location of our room, the fireplace, the breakfast and the service was excellent.

I don't know how it could be any better for a Carmel boutique hotel. So friendly and efficient at check-in. The location is perfect. the main thing that stood out to me is the Cleanliness! Absolutely spotless, not only every bit of the room, but the entire property! Thanks very much for a wonderful stay.

The proximity to Ocean Avenue was close, but also seemed secluded, away from the hustle, which was nice. The staff greeting us were very friendly and welcoming after a whole day of driving. The ocean view room itself was nice from the top (3rd?) floor porch, but limited, and still would recommend, as limited view is still better than no view. However, even with the porch door closed, we could still hear very loud and clear our next door occupant since they had their porch door open, another couple talking very loudly and also had their tv on at what seemed like full blast. We could hear their entire conversations and also what tv programs they were watching. Some would say this is a major downside, and was an annoyance at first, but we tried turning it into a game where we would make up stories about them based on what we were hearing. Other noise and smells traveled a lot as another occupant continuously went out onto their porch and coughed up their lungs at various times during the night and early morning. Cigarette smoke commonly wafted in by the neighbors across the street. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was nice, except the Jacuzzi bathtub didn't seem the cleanest as there were still a couple of hairs from previous occupant and the jets seemed dirty. The provided robes and amenities were excellent. For the price, would still consider staying again if circumstances were right, but would also look into other nearby places.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Room was beautiful, balcony was perfect, breakfast was yummy and brought in a basket to our room every morning. Very convenient location to everything. No AC but even in August it was chilly enough that this was no problem.

Don’t reserve a downstairs unit! Very old and noisy ceilings. Upstairs unit - will annoy you all evening and night. Foot steps, thumps, squeaks, creaks. Toilet flushes, omg. Charming place otherwise, but not good for us. My wife could not sleep because of the noise.

Everything was great. It was a little warm in the room, and there was no A/C. I am sure most people don’t need it, but it would have been nice. There was a portable fan that helped. Otherwise a great place, and would stay there again.

Loved out stay at Tradewinds! So close to everything, but also far enough away to be a quiet retreat! The rooms are large with comfy bed, and a large patio to enjoy the cool evening. Loved the morning breakfast drop offs at our door. Would definitely stay again.

The room was spacious, decorated in a relaxing zen-like theme, and comfortable, with a distant view of the ocean from our 2nd floor porch. We enjoyed the gas log fireplace. The best thing was the delightful breakfast (4 choices each day) that was brought to our room in a basket each morning. The staff people were all very kind and helpful, and gave us chocolate chip cookies when we arrived. The bathroom had nice amenities, including the most wonderful smelling, locally made lavender soap. The hotel is only a few blocks from Ocean Avenue, which is the main thorofare in Carmel. We will stay here again!

I normally give good hotels a high rating but this place needs an above excellent star. The photos online simply do not do it justice. This was a last minute on our way to San Francisco hotel stay. Its a tight squeeze pulling into the parking but there was available on street parking.. Loved my room, hotel lush gardens, waterfalls, breakfast delivered to my room, balcony, sitting area. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I will be back. We could not book another night as they were full. Shout out to Brittany reception and Julian helping with bags. love this place!

The grounds were very well kept and peaceful and very clean. The staff was very nice and even helped carry our bags from the car to the room. The room was very nice with the sound of a small water fountain inside. We had a nice patio to catch the afternoon sun, and the bed was comfortable. We felt the shower was a little small for us but it was manageable. The location is a short walk to downtown with a little bit of an uphill incline coming back which might be hard for some people. Parking was not hard, but we were there during the week. Would stay here again. We were here in February.

We booked a room with a fireplace but when we got there they said that wasn't a guarantee and we got a room with a balcony instead. We also were sitting by the fire pit at 10pm Saturday night and they came it shut it off even though the office was open till 11. We will definitely pick a different place next visit.

I celebrated my milestone birthday in our favorite Carmel-by-the-Sea and was our first time in Tradewinds Carmel. In a nutshell, 5star experience!!! The staff (esp. Christine who was so nice!) was all kind and accommodating. Booked a King with balcony but was generously upgraded to the best room in this awarded 28-room boutique hotel, which was the Serenity Suite. Aside from the beautiful aesthetics of the place, both inside the rooms and esp. the courtyard, the daily breakfast in a basket added a charming effect to our getaway. (Not to mention the seemingly homemade baked chocolate chip cookies given as we checked-in... it is the little things!) Location was strategically located, walkable to great restaurants, as well as downtown (Ocean Ave), but far enough to have ample parking. (We had a dedicated spot!) To sum it up, Tradewinds Carmel is definitely one of the best places to stay in Carmel! We shall definitely come back and keep on raving about this beautifully charming home away from home!

The staff was super friendly and the hotel was clean and well kept. However, be mindful of which floor they put you on. I requested a high floor when I booked my room months ago, but got a first floor room, even though I checked in 30 minutes before check in began. Our room was right next to the staircase, and every time someone walked up the stairs, we could hear it in our room. we could also hear the guests in the room above us walking around and talking. I don’t even think they were talking loudly. The fountain in our room also stopped working after the first night. I didn’t bother notifying the hotel about it because I assumed it was probably on a timer, which I thought was a nice touch, but it never turned back on. We also had to park on the street the 2 nights we stayed. Thankfully we found a nearby spot both times (one night around the block), but for a rate close to $500/night, we were expecting a least a parking spot on site, and a quiet room. Our room was next to the fountain they have in the common area, which was nice. It sounded like there was a gentle stream outside. And they light tiki torches and a fire pit at night which we could also see from our room. It was nice to be nearby the main strip and walk everywhere. You walk downhill to get to all the shops, restaurants, beaches, but have to walk uphill to get back to hotel. It didn’t bother us, but something others should know.

Great job. Beautiful location. Parking is limited but I suppose that is to be expected for the area. Breakfast being delivered was an awesome touch. How could anyone say no to a beautiful basket of breakfast delivered every morning. We took our dog and the fact that the place was dog friendly was very good as well. The location is also a very short walk to downtown.

The hotel is blocks away from shopping and restaurants but I did not realize the street in front is a good incline if you wanted to stay parked and go back and forth on foot. My 71 year old mother did okay walking it, just took our time. Other than that, even though we enjoyed Carmel and Monterey, we both felt the hotel was the highlight of our 3 night stay. We loved the breakfasts- fresh and delicious and attentively presented, loved getting to make our selection and the gentle knock at the door when it was dropped off, how friendly the staff was, complementary cookies and spa water, the beautiful grounds and rooms. It was a quiet and peaceful location. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms nicely “freshened up” each day. We really missed Tradewinds when we checked out, and hope to return again soon. They set the bar very high for an affordable boutique hotel experience!!

We enjoyed our stay at Tradewinds! The location was great, not in the heart of downtown but close enough to enjoy it away from all the crowds (our preference). Breakfast was good, could improve on selection. It would be great to have slippers too, as the tile is cold during the winter months. Also, the pillow was a bit hard. Other than these things, this place is a great find! Would definitely go back!

The hotel is really lovely, but the breakfasts were a huge disappointment. They deliver a box to your room per your order, but it was awful. For fruit, one orange, one awful apple and three little pieces of melon. The pastry was an embarrassment considering that there are several terrific bakeries in Carmel.

Asian-themed decor with tranquil gardens, sitting areas and fountains. It is a well-kept older property that is NOT at all shabby. Grounds swept and cleaned every morning. Parking on a holiday weekend is tough in Carmel by the Sea area. We left our car parked and walked to dinner each evening. Helpful staff and breakfast are delivered each am . We were assigned the downstairs room next to the office likely because we had two dogs. The room was nice, that is until the upstairs guests arrived. Absolutely ridiculously loud. Old building is my guess. Avoid lower level rooms. Also only 8 parking spots for many more rooms. Street parking is tough. Nice staff.
