Stayed 1 night

The first room that was given to me smelled of old mold, the second one smelled as well but not as much. Staff was nice. Pillows and bedding was old and needed upgrades. Overall for that stay, I would expect to pay $50 per night and not almost $200.

Room itself was super clean and staff was awesome but our room in particular was extra loud. Most of the rooms have double panned windows but ours was closest to the street and had wooden door like windows that let all the sounds in. Also walls are very thin, we could hear everything from the rooms surrounding us.

This used to be our go to hotel when visiting family in Carpinteria. Each stay though it seemed like the hotel was going downhill. The restaurant and bar are closed on Fridays and Saturdays. The nice coffee machine in the lobby is gone and there is no coffee until after 7:00 because nobody “has the key”?? And then it is just a pump style which is empty most of the time. The carpets are dirty. Management does nothing about people partying in the courtyard at all hours of the night and early morning. We used the safe in the room but couldn’t open it after putting our money and valuables in it. There was nobody on-site to open it and over an hour after we called for help (and a trip to the front desk and another phone call) someone finally brought the key to open it. The battery was taped in with masking tape and had come loose! The young man was very nice and apologetic but we ended up being late for an engagement. Our next trip in 2 weeks will not be at this hotel. We have already booked at another hotel in Carpinteria.
