- Constant noise from bathroom - breakfast was supposed to be available from 7am to 10am BUT there was noone in office during that time our whole entire 5 days we were there cause they were short staff - BLACK MOLD was behind couch...we took pictures - couldn't find anyone to give us fresh towels and sheets for 2 days - Room smelled musky - heater/ air conditioner would leak water when in use - shower knob made an irritating noise entire time you took a shower when put on hot water - Couldn't use spa tub cause it didn't look clean, sanitized enough to soak in - would of been nice to know there is NO CLOSET - room outdated

Charming Hispanic property and hotel building. Check-in was easy, and the young woman at the front desk was very helpful when our room heater didn't work she provided a solution within minutes. Parking directly in front of the room. The room was very clean, shower with nice hot water. Apart from the super soft mattress on the queen bed, that made staying asleep for me 190 lbs, and my wife 105 lbs challenging. It felt like being on an airbed with not sufficient air inside. All are still acceptable for a quick night stay in Carpinteria.

Dishonest; would not honor reserved price- added ~20% "hotel fee" on arrival which I refused to pay. Clerk didn't have the authority to override it, then wandered off for 20 minutes while I tried to call the off-site Manager. She didn't answer multiple calls but finally called back 2 hours later and blamed Expedia for the "misunderstanding". No offer to meet the reserved price. Meanwhile they had already charged my card the added fee without my authorization. I asked why the fee wasn't on their website and she said it would result in fewer bookings. No kidding! Deceitful way to do business. Beyond that, the window screen was torn, so we couldn't get fresh air into the musty room. In the office, the coffee maker was out of order, the ice maker was out of order, and the toaster oven barely got warm, didn't toast.

The office was closed when we arrive. I didn’t know the office opens at check in time. Even though I answered their message on text from them what time we would arrive. They didn’t answer the phone even. The room was clean and bed was comfy. The only problem I had was the sheet had unknown substance on it. I asked for it to be changed and the housekeeper did that for me even though the initial response was they only change out towels. The jacuzzi was great. I would stay there again.

One of the redeemable qualities this property had was a jet bathtub. Unfortunately, it was completely unusable due to all the mold and mildew/bacteria blasting out of it every time we turned it on. We ran it four or five times just to try to clear it out, but it was still disgusting. The curtains in our room were torn and hanging a skew, the refrigerator had a huge dent in the front of it. The patio table was broken. The floor was so dirty that we had to wear socks or shoes on the tile or our feet would be black. The worst of all was there was a hoarder living in the unit next to us with a broken down car and all kinds of clutter and trash , right in front of our door. The free breakfast consist of a bagel or cereal and sometimes a banana. This place could be really cute, but I think even giving it three stars is being generous.

This property is much less nice than a typical motel. The room smelled like mildew and there were spiders and hairs on the bed. We requested a room change. It took nearly an hour for this to happen and the communication was difficult through the process. We ultimately decided to drive home early rather than sleep here. The worst part is that the room was much more expensive than the Motel 6 that is across the street.

One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Hotel room was dirty, with spiders and cockroaches. In the morning the toilet backed up into the bathtub. It was so disgusting and hotel staff was unable to help, saying the person that handles those situations wasn’t working. They apologized for the situation but made no offer to refund us or help provide another room or other accommodations. We had to check out early to be able to be somewhere with a working toilet. The whole situation was insane, especially for the price we paid. Would not ever stay here again.

The property looked nice, however, the bedding was stained, the room smelled like mildew after the first shower, there was no service to the room, we had to collect the dirty towels take them to the front desk to get new towels. The walls were paper thin with a group of guys yelling all night on one side of us and music blasting on the other side of us. We left in the middle of the night so we could get some sleep.

This place had such mixed reviews it was hard to know what to expect. I had higher hopes, but was disappointed. The outside of the motel is unique and kinda cute, despite sharing a parking lot with some pretty low budge apartments. Once inside, it was pretty bad. There was a very powerful odor that smelled musky and moldy, the in room “jetted tub” was gross and we ended up not wanting to use it. The waiver mentioned bed bugs and I became completely concerned. We did not see any bugs but my imagination left me itching and paranoid which made it hard to sleep. The floor had a weird film on it so I didn’t walk barefoot on the floor. The toilet barely could flush, requiring a few flushes before a small amount of toilet paper would go down. Very dingy kitchenette and bathroom. Lots of damage on walls, doors, moldings. Overall just felt dingy and ran down. Very overpriced. I think the person above us lives there full time. Overall very dissatisfied. Would not waste money there again!!!

Well I guess you get what you pay for? Prices have gotten so high in the area that this place thinks they can charge what they do for this less than average place. Mattresses should be put out to pastor. Nobody should have to ever sleep on one of these old gross mattresses. Dirty, loud apartment buildings on both sides of the hotel. Wi-Fi not working while we're there which caused a red light to blink in our room from the faulty router until I could finally get behind the TV to unplug. Lucky that we only spent one night here!!!

The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. However there was no wifi. We were given a password but it said connected without internet. I needed internet for business. So I had to leave the motel to conduct my business. The hotel stated there was internet and it was my problem. They also charged us $50 more than Expedia said. They did give a cash refund but while we waited, another guest had the same issue being over charged. There is not a closet. Only a bar on the wall to hang anything. Bath tub very high step in without bar. Breakfast was coffee, orange juice, cereal, croissant and bagels.

So the staff was sweet. And I could tell they had tried. But the room was kinda ratty. Blotches on the wall, cheap bedding. Cheap furniture. Tiled floors (with some weird cleaning stuff on them?). the breakfast was just kinda sad. It really wasn't worth the 285 I spent.

Renovations were nice, the young man at reception was very friendly and let the manager know we were there. The area is a little rundown around, but was fine for the given price. All in all, it was good. Property is charming and fairly well maintained. However after leaving they charged my credit card additional fees. I have repeatedly asked them to justify these charges but they remain silent. I am quite sure I didn't do any damage and even left a housekeeping tip. Just know that the posted rate is not what you'll pay. They will ding your card for more money and not tell you why

When I checked in, the clerk complained to me that it was his break. Then, he claimed that the orbits fee did not cover the cost of the hotel and that there was a $15 fee. I refused it and asked to speak to the manager, he told me that the manager did not want to talk to me and waved the $15 fee. This can't even be legal. Never will I come here again. I was here two years ago and it was fine.

I received a text the day we were supposed to check in, asking me to complete a registration form in advance and what time we would arrive. I completed the form, and gave our expected time of arrival. When we arrived, the person checking me in was professional. The room sufficiently met our needs. However, in the bathroom, the paint was peeling and one of the cabinets was broken. The breakfast that was provided on the day of our our check-out (we only stayed one night) was okay, but it would have been nice if fresh fruit had been available. The person who checked me out on the day we were leaving was professional.

The location is very nice & the room was cozy. We have dust allergy & so booked this motel because it said ‘daily housekeeping’ but even after 2 days of stay, when they hadn’t come out to clean, I sooke to the housekeeping staff & they argued saying thst they will only take out trash & nothing else. The next day I complained to the front desk after which they came out & cleaned just one time. 1 cleanining for a week’s stay inspite of paying $182/night. Pay attention to $ when you are signing as they try to hussle u with extra $ charges. The breakfast is very poor. No fruits or yogurt. Twice, there was fungus in the croissant. Most items are gone by 8:30am and they don’t refill although it says breakfast is till 10:30am. The last day of our stay they pretty much did not have breakfast at all except a little bit of cereal & coffee. There are unleashed dogs & stray cats on the property all the time, so not safe for kids. There was a pitbull roaming around during our stay peeing & pooping everywhere with no clean up afterwards. There is no ocean view and the beach is 20 mins walk. I would not recommend this place at all.

I tried to call them several times and couldn't get thru. I also emailed them with no response. This place is over priced for a motel.
