Holiday Inn Express Elk Grove West I-5 by IHG

Elevator was very slow, and the pool was closed for some reason. The location is close to mini dining options within walking distance.

Ok but not great. Hot tub not working. Couldn’t get anyone to plunge toilet after multiple requests so we had to go to the lobby to use restroom. Air conditioner wouldn’t cool enough for comfort.

The breakfast is amazing! A little bummed that the hot tub was broken. But overall, great value!

We checked into our room and upon pulling the sheets back, immediately, discovered there were crumbs and food all over the sheets. On top of that, when we left the room later and forgot one of our key cards, the other one didn’t work when we tried to get in. We went to the front desk and we were told that we better not let that happen again because he gets tired of making new keys for people. Also, they were only able to give us three extra towels for a party of 5 because they didn’t have any available. Just a bunch of factors led to a less than enjoyable stay. The hot tub was broken, the gate to the pool was broken. The list goes on.

The staff was amazing. The property needs a refresh. Our room was next to the elevator. It was constantly noisy. The hot tub was not heated. For 200.00 per night we expected more. But again. The staff and breakfast were wonderful.

Room was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Everything was clean. However, the hot tab was broken and not working for 3 weeks as we were told. The pool was very small. My daughter and I arrived about 4 pm and looked forward to a relaxing evening using the pool and hot tub. We were very disappointed ! I would not have booked this hotel had I know the hot tub was out of service.. would it be possible to get a discount for the inconvenience?

We were upset that the pool and spa was not available, since that is the reason we booked it. We were not told when we checked in and found out later. That is the reason we booked that hotel.

The hotel was very nicely run. Spacious room and great amenities. The only problem was that the hot tub wasnt hot, but even then it was still comfortable and relaxing.

The owners of this location are over charging for this property. The pictures make it look MUCH cleaner than in person. - nails / screws holding down carpet in hallways - not cleaning the restrooms on the main floor - not changing our towels - old magnetic key cards. we had to replace sometimes twice a day are keys o my to do it all over again the next day. - the hot tub was not working and we were not told it was not a available Owners are ripping off customers at this location

I liked that it was right off the highway and away from the other hotels. I didn’t like that the pool and hot tub we not working. That’s a big part on my decision making in booking.

Problem: We finally got back to the hotel, and went up to our room which was on the 2nd floor, room 213. Everything was perfect up until I started my shower. I pulled the shower curtain and to my surprise I see a bug. It was noticeable because the curtains were white and this bug looked like an light red/orange/ brown color. I immediately yelled for my husband to come look. It was a bed bug. I tried to kill it but it kept crawling and seemed like it was trying to fly. We googled how bed bugs looked and it was definitely one. I grabbed it and told my husband to flush it. My husband went to talk to front desk to let them know. Front desk said the hotel manager is not in the office and for us to wait until tomorrow. He could accommodate us another room but if we want a refund we would need to wait until the manager is in. It was already getting late and having 3 small children, we decided to go to another room and hoping there wouldn’t be any more bed bugs. He eventually gave us a new room which would be on the 3rd floor, room 300 and a king suite instead of our standard suite because that was the only room available. He also handed us plenty of extra towels and a linen. We thought that it’s ironic because there’s a problem, he somehow now has extras to give. When we got to the new room, it was a standard suite which we didn’t mind because we need the double beds. We immediately noticed the coffee table was lifted as if someone had just eaten from it. The bath tubs were not draining and were pretty nasty. Staff was super nice, but the tubs need updgradinf or cleaning. My feet are itchy and breaking out now, and i used the towels and sandals trying to stay "safe" but the water would just pool in the tub... nasty.

Had some ants. Blow dryer attachment doesnt fit. Fire alarm...missing battery. Carpet sticky in some places..

The bed was dirty it has crumbs all over the bed , hair was on the bed and dirt and stains , you can tell they didn’t wash them

The room in general was clean but the shower stall corners all have mildew pink to black on the caulk and edges . Give the room cleaners proper tools and bleach to clean those areas.

The hotel is very clean, the staff is very nice. The room was clean, and comfortable.

Ants all over our room, zero hot water

It was an adequate room with a comfortable bed. A bit dingy and worn some gross mold in shower. Breakfast was meh. Wouldn’t stay again given so many other options.

Shower was disgusting. Heavily stained, gobs of hair in tub drain.

Very nice area and nice room. We had a room next to the elevator and it was amazingly quiet. Only noise from the elevator we could hear was when we were in the bathroom. Very well set up. I was disappointed that the windows let in some noise from outside. Also would have enjoyed some herbal tea options in the lobby for available hot drinks.

Air conditioning was terrible noising and interrupted the entire family sleep

Easy check in after a long day of travel, greeted by friendly staff that remembered us from a previous stay. Clean room, keurig coffee maker, microwave, mini fridge, comfy bed and pillows.

The first room we had the bed was terrible. Almost felt like the mattress was torn in half. Moved rooms and was much more comfortable.

I was triple charged fir my room. Tgey billed 199.99 on the card the reservation was made on and 507.12 on the card I presented at checkin. I spoke with the morning clerk who took my information. The manager was to call me, no contact after several hours and there is no local hotel ohone number. I would rate this place a 0 on customer service.

I picked this over other places due to the breakfast advertising. They were out of everything by the time I got down there at 8:30am. The food that was left was not nearly what was pictured in the photos on Hotels.com. It was in a shady spot behind a store and there were weird guys just hanging out by the side doors. Two times I tried to check out on the last day and couldn’t find an employee. They were nice when I did get to speak with someone. They did try to modify the room but they had water heater issues so my boyfriend had to take a cold shower after he ate his apple for breakfast. Disappointed. I will not be staying here again.

HORRIBLE!! i just witnessed some of the worst customer and employee care ever by the manager “Sophie”. She berated both me (the customer) and her very nice employee who was providing excellent customer service. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever witnessed worse “manager” behavior. This woman Sophie has no business being in leadership or anything to do with customer service. I will be reporting her to Holiday Inn corporate.

Every employee we talked to were very kind. Our check in was so smooth & quick & the clerk was very nice. The lovely lady who tended the breakfast area was also so friendly & cheerful. We can’t say enough nice things about this hotel!!

Bottle of cologne "went missing" from my room. Reported this to staff who said they'd escalate to management and would get back to me; never heard back from them, despite chasing.

We were here for 2 nights. Our family had 3 rooms. We were disappointed the pool was unavailable but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The front desk person Linda (who was new) went above and beyond to make us comfortable. I asked her many questions and she helped us with everything!

Very unprofessional staff at the reception will not cater to elderly citizens in facilitating process, door keys never worked and will not recommend

Great location - a mile away by car from family! Easy come, easy go! We came from Europe to visit family, just down the street from the hotel, and tour some of the important sites! No concerns. The Manager, Ms. Sophie was especially mindful of our accomodations and stay in general. Great Leader. Gentleman behind the desk was courteous and made registration very simple. Highly recommended for the traveler! We've had 2 other family groups stay here! Must be good!!

When you're traveling on I 5 this hotel is very convenient. Easy on and off the freeway, close to a gas station and you can walk to grab a bite. It is clean, safe, quiet, great comfortable bed and breakfast included.

Right by I-5 and Elk Grove Blvd. Walking distance to Pete's Pizza, AM/PM, and McDonald's. Perfect for people travelling North or South through Sacramento, whether heading down to LA or up to Oregon and Washington. Rooms are spacious, with mini fridges and coffee makers, and breakfast and wi-fi are included. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This felt like a quiet place since it was surrounded by grassland. There's nearby restaurants and gas. It felt like a great place for myself and my family.

This was a perfect place to stay for our family of six visiting family in Elk Grove. Courteous staff, clean rooms, pleasant decor - all this was great, but most hotels can meet these expectations. The sofa bed mattress was actually acceptably comfortable so bonus points for this. But the main reason for the 5-star rating was the breakfast - it was truly excellent, maybe even outstanding, the best we’ve had at a ‘normal’ hotel in many years, and actually better than another Holiday Inn Express we stayed at just a few months ago. They even had sausage gravy with biscuits - we thought this was a discontinued breakfast item, but this hotel still had it.

First of all the pool photos online were very misleading. This was a tiny pool, 4ft deep, with a hot tub that is not heated. The duvet cover on my bed had clearly not been changed. It was dirty, with what appeared to be a crusty gunk. I don’t even want to think about what that might have been. The hotel staff was apologetic and quickly changed the bedding. But they did not offer any thing more. I just felt grossed out the rest of the time there. The breakfast was mediocre. I love holiday inns, but I would never stay here again.

We loved our room and had a great night's sleep on the comfy bed. Hotel is very convenient, close to the freeway but no noise. Excellent hot breakfast.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a good amount of options and great quality. The only thing that was negative was that sometimes the water was not hot when showering and the draining in the shower was bad. Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
