Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento-Elk Grove Laguna I-5

We checked in almost at 10 pm. Zena (not sure of the spelling) took care of us. She was polite to our goofy jokes and very nice. Told us everything we needed to know before we headed to our room. We came back down to try and locate some bottle water and she nicely gave us a couple bottles in a bag to take back up. We drove our EV from the Bay Area using about half the battery. It was nice to have 6 EV charges at the back door of the hotel. It charge at a little over 6 kWh. I had read that the first 2 hours were free, but it seemed I was charged for the full time. That was fine as the charge rate was about the same as I would have paid to charge in my own garage, about $0.38/kwh. Convenient to have a charged car for the ride home.

Not happy that the elevators were out of order. I expect a discount for this.

Breakfast was fine, parking was very good and it was safe, the room was clean and we loved that our room had space to move around we didn’t feel crowded at all.

Overall, great stay. Property has EV charging spots and digital key through the Hilton app, so even though we got there around 4am, we could go straight to the room using the app. Safe, friendly staff. I usually like to check mattresses and some foam was ripped maybe from a previous guest and the curtains had some holes. Definitely has seen better days. But overall good stay, just dated.

Whatever you do, do not accept a room near the swim pool which is open until 10 pm. Extremely noisy!!

The staff, especially the breakfast staff were wonderful. There was a little chaos during check in, due to card system being down, but the staff was professional and were able to get us into our room quickly. A nice pool area and indoor area to gather with our softball families. Would stay again.

The hotel location is very convenient near the freeway, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options around. The hotel staff is very friendly and courteous. The only working elevator is slow and beeping unpleasantly.

The hotel is clean, the breakfast options are varied, staff is helpful and friendly. Although it is next to the freeway, I did not hear any traffic noise! Only issue was that the elevators were out of service my entire visit. Not an issue for me as my room was on the 2nd floor. Also, it isn't the hotel's fault. I reduced my rating slightly due to the inconvenience.

Everything was very nice just needs better lighting at the rear of the building where the charge point stations are.

Very Disappointed to find human hair in bed , air filter was dirty and the walls in bathroom. They say its lysol cleaned but it was not .

Convenient to restaurants and freeway. I heard the freeway noise all night. The floors in the hallways were dirty and stained. The elevators had dirty floors and my shower curtain was very moldy.

It was very dirty. I ended up leaving. The shower was so gross.

My room (the bathroom) was not properly cleaned. I ended up having to get disinfectant from the front desk and clean the bathroom myself. I was switched to another room the next day and that bathroom also was not properly cleaned. I notified the front desk and they ensured that it was cleaned immediately. The front desk staff was REALLY kind and extremely apologetic about everythingI experienced.

The rooms were well equipped and quiet as long as you are staying in a room not on the I-5 side of the hotel. Staff were uniformly pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast and no parking fee.

The service and staff were great. They were very helpful and friendly. Free parking and Continental breakfast was also great. But the room and comfort of the room was TERRIBLE. I stayed in the 1 King bed suite. I thought the room was going to be good, the room was huge, we had a fridge and microwave BUT that was the only positives of the room. I usually dont get super picky about things especially when I know Im only there for 1 night BUT this time I couldn't even sleep. The bed smelled like wet dog or like someone slept in the bed and didn't shower for a few days so their stench was still there. The comforter was really itchy and I just couldn't get comfortable. I couldn't sleep on the pull out bed because the fabric was tweed and sitting and touching the couch felt filthy. I also tripped on the corner of the couch which had a sharp metal piece poking out. Oh and when I closed the window curtains there were holes where the moths ate it. You can tell the suite hasn't had TLC for awhile. It was gross. Would I stay at Hamilton Inn again yes probably but it wouldnt be my first choice

Room 418 had a crack I. Tile and bathroom sink drain was slow. They changed us to another room and the rest of our stay was excellent. I would go back.

We did not sleep but 3 hrs here. It was horrible. Rooms on both sides of us had huge yelling matches. One side fought until 2am then slammed doors and left. We had one side quiet. The other side fought until 2:30am. Then was quiet but started back up at 6am. Called the front desk. They finally got quiet and left around 7. Great stay. Not!!! Walls too thin. No sleep!!!

It was clean and quiet.We got a king suite to have more room since our son is in a wheelchair. It was very accommodating. The staff made sure our needs were met.

The service was top notch! Breakfasts were included and always hot and delicious. Make sure you find Angela who worked in the kitchen. She was very helpful, friendly (great smile), and energetic! She will make your day! Man Soor was the Manager. Helpful, friendly, funny yet very professional. He gave us directions when needed, restaurant recommendations, answered all my questions about the area, and all with a smile on his face. I was very pleased with staff, Angela, and Man Soor. Great Job!!

The desk staff are completely clueless. They double charged my room twice; then said I owed them more money. Crazy. My interaction with staff is due to the poor management of this hotel. Afterall, they hire and train the staff.

Very accommodating last minute. Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Comfy, clean, etc.

Unfortunately the front desk person was on a long (20 minute) break when we arrived. We waited and waited and waited for him to arrive before we could check in. I spend on average 50 plus nights in various hotels. I honestly have never waited like this before. Since it was close to 9 pm and we had already booked the room, we were over a barrel. Otherwise, we would have bolted after about 8 minutes of waiting. Room definitely showed signs of disrepair.

Was a disappointment on a few different levels. When I arrived they did not have the room I paid for. They downgraded our room and offered it as an option. When I said no thank you they said well your original room is no longer available. There was a price difference and they said that I would have to call Expedia. I called Expedia and they said they needed to talk with hotel. Expedia repeatedly tried to call the hotel and said no one was answering (it was about 9pm and there was no activity in the reception. I went to my room to try and wind down. Took a shower and found black curly hair throughout shower. The two make staff was very dismissive and rude. We normally have great experiences with Hampton Inns - this one was a poor example of the level of service usually provided by this chain. We had a long day on the road and was looking forward to a restful evening. Will never go back there again.

We only stayed one night, but it was a great stay. The staff were very kind, friendly, and answered all my questions. Breakfast was nice and the lobby and rooms were nice.

VERY disappointed. I was not able to stay at this hotel due to "overbooking" - this is unacceptable and disrespectful. I booked this hotel via Expedia on May 19 to stay here Oct 6 (nearly 5 months in advance). On October 5 at 6:22pm (less than 12 hours of check in) I recieved an email indicating that my booking no longer exists. Wait what?... I don't know what I would have done if I didn't happen to check my email prior to the next morning. After talking with the friendly front desk, who indicated our booking was still valid, Expedia indicated they talked to Management (Sheik Hanif) but he was not available to talk to confirm nor could Expedia forward me the communication indicating this to confirm. This was very confusing. Miscommunication with manager and staff was obvious and the whole situation was highly unprofessional. Possible it happened to others who booked in advance due to demand to stay as a 3-day music festival was in Sacramento. Expedia was able to help find a new hotel nearby, Fairfield Inn and Suites, which accommodated me and will receive a good review. Email: "We wanted to let you know that, unfortunately, Hampton Inn & Suites Sacramento-Elk Grove Laguna I-5 cannot honor your upcoming booking on 10/6/2023. Occasionally, properties have to change or modify bookings unexpectedly." October 5 at 6:22pm.

We stayed in a king suite with a sofa bed. The only negative was that we could hear all the cars drive by throughout the night. We didn’t realize how close the property was to the freeway. Breakfast was great and staff friendly.

It is very convenient access off of I5, during my road trip from Portland to San Diego. I will stay here again.

Nothing super fancy but it was clean and comfortable. Best thing was the free breakfast. Many choices for many tastes. Great coffee, yummy oatmeal. The staff were all friendly and smiled. What I didn’t like was trying to get directions over the phone. Not a single scrap of paper or pen/pencil. I think this is the first hotel I've stayed at that didn't have a small pad of paper or pen/pencil.

Very disappointed with the breakfast. Very sparse. No fresh fruit, no yogurt, no granola. Also they informed me that they only clean the rooms once every four days unless requested. I requested to have the room cleaned and they told me that it would be cleaned the next day. They did not clean it as promised. It’s the last time I will stay in a Hampton Inn.

Our stay was pleasant. Quiet area with several fast food restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good, especially the cake batter Belgian waffles.

It was very convenient to Elk Grove and various wineries. The complimentary breakfast was mixed. Almost every day, the Dark coffee ran out. Frequently one had to ask for other things that ran out, eg waffle batter, bagels, cream cheese (which wasn't even in stock one morning), refill of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes.

Our host at check-in, Farida, explained everything from room keys to the complimentary breakfasts. She was excellent. The complimentary breakfast is complete and satisfying. The staff were quick to refresh any missing items. Great coffee! You can leave a gratuity by the way. They earned it. The rooms were not fancy but clean and usable. We had two adjoining rooms. By necessity, the disability access rooms and bathrooms are larger. Our second room was an access room. In both rooms were the refrigerator, micro, and coffee maker. However, you really don't need the c.m. because coffee and water are served all day in the lobby. Nice touch! They served a snack bag out there as well with a bagel, pb&j, water, and a fruit..GREAT APPLES..They must be from the region. One room included two tables and two chairs. One more of a lounge chair and the other closer to a wide, wheeled, upholstered office chair. If you are on business, you'd be comfortable but you might need more light. I edited some photos and I require BRIGHT. I didn't get into the pool on this trip but we did see kids in the pool. Very nice. Parking was adequate during the week and weekend. The lighting could be brighter although the area seems quite safe. All in all, we were happy with everthing this hotel offered and we would choose to return in the future.

The breakfast had a great waffle bar. The hotel was clean and quiet.

It was a great experience for us everyone was so kind and helpful and the the breakfast buffet was amazing and Angela did a fantastic job and was very delightful
