Ayer’s properties are always a pleasure to stay at. Our only complaint would be they parking. The gates would never open when trying to leave. We had had to go back in and get the front desk to help open the gate. Very inconvenient

My daughter and I had a magical vacation at the Ayres Hotel! The room was clean and spacious, the staff were incredibly sweet and helpful and the pool/courtyard were BEAUTIFUL!

Clean and spacious room. Charged $150 deposit for ‘incidentals’ but nothing in the fridge! Parking charged at $22 which is an outrage for a 4 star hotel. Massive empty parking lot. Staff said it was ‘another company’ charging for the parking. Not acceptable- if they must pay another company, it should be included in the room rate. Otherwise, hotel was pleasant and clean. No breakfast included which I have never encountered for a 4 star hotel.

This hotel is right off the highway, so it’s convenient for getting around. There is a very helpful shuttle that takes you to the beach so you don’t have to deal with parking. Hotel room was clean, spacious and overlooked a sweet courtyard with a pool and hot tub. Staff was very friendly and professional.

Loved the beautiful music that greeted you when you walked in and the stunning art in the halls. The room was beautifully decorated as well and the noise from the street was minimal.

This is listed as a 4-star hotel, which is not accurate. It is definitely a 3-star at most. The property is right next to the 405 freeway, extremely dated (looks like it hasn't been remodeled since the 80's) and the decor is very gaudy. I travel frequently and will not be staying at this property again. When I checked in, I asked for a quiet room and was told that they only had rooms next to the freeway. After politely requesting again, the check in person did find a quiet room for me which I appreciated.

Clean, friendly staff. Can not turn off room AC making soft noise. The only way to turn of AC is to remove the room key card from the slot, but then all electricity in the room is turned off and you can’t charge your phone. The window receives morning sun and has a transparent curtain that does not block it and you are woken up by the morning light if you would like or not.

Beautiful room - my only suggestion is to have a black out curtain or privacy curtain as they only had sheer curtains in the room. The side curtains that would have helped only covered the sides and could not be closed. I did not like this on my 2nd trip where I was on the ground level and anyone walking by could have looked into the room which was weird.

Great looking common areas, beautiful veranda to sit and convenient location, the staff was very attentive. Room was great size with a seating area, shower water pressure wasn’t great and the hand sink kept clogging but would definitely stay again

It was a gorgeous hotel was relaxing. The room was amazing. The price could’ve been a little better. They put us on the second floor right above the restaurant which played loud bumping music until midnight. Hard to get to sleep. Maybe they should not have a room there other than that OK

I accidentally booked the wrong room type. While Tim fixed my mistake, he wasn't very nice about it. My family planned on eating at the restaurant on Sunday morning. We met at 9:30 and we weren't seated because the server had to take a break at 10:00am. We would have to wait until the restaurant opened again at 11:00am for lunch. I recommended they post that they stop serving after 9:30am if customers have to be out by 10am. If you're looking for great or even good customer service, this is not the place to go. Unfortunately, I lost a sentimental bracelet on my way home. I immediately called the hotel and spoke to Karen. She said she would talk to housekeeping and call me back. No call. Called on Monday and Tuesday and was told that there was no discussion with housekeeping and I would get a call back. No call. On Wednesday, I spoke to Jairo and asked to speak to the manager as I was told to do on Tuesday. Only the manager could help me. Jairo would not transfer me to the manager. (Strange that the manager has his employees block him from his customers. Never had that happen before.) Jairo contacted housekeeping and was finally advised that the bracelet was not turned in. Quite an effort on my part. While we loved the hotel and planned to go back in August, we will find another place to stay.

Lovely hotel with good front desk service. Would have given it 5 stars if the room didn’t smell like either it was old or water damage. Overall it appeared clean and the courtyard is lovely! The price was right!! Not sure if they give the less appealing room(smell) in exchange for Expedia pricing. I would stay again just to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi and friendly staff. Checked in late night otherwise I would have requested to see if we could have changed rooms but since we were there for a concert and not just relaxing in room we didn’t bother to move for our 2 night stay.

Gorgeous property just minutes from the airport. Loved my room. High ceilings and spacious. I left behind a dress shirt and the GM was incredibly helpful. He was able to ship it for me. Ayres has the feel of a 5 star hotel with great value. 10 stars.

It was a short stay but we enjoyed it. This hotel is close enough to the airport to uber under $35. The room was clean the beds were not worn, the halls were quiet. Breakfast was minimal, danishes, cereal, apples, oranges and coffee. There are a few walkable options. The shuttle service they provide is for shopping in Manhattan area only. Overall we would stay again and I like the noon checkout.

I had an amazing stay at the Ayres. The style and design are very 18 century and gives you a feeling of belonging. Is close to the beach and the staff is very friendly.

Spacious and comfortable room, great staff, numerous dining option within walking distance of this site. On-site restaurant Polanco Modern Mexican Steakhouse was great. I suggest trying the Rib-eye Chicharron appetizer, amazing.

I love this hotel for the decor & spacious room. I was disappointed in the restaurant. One reason I book here for business trips is that I don’t need to leave the property to eat. I went to the bar & they didn’t have a single red wine by the glass. “Out of everything.” I ordered a drink recommended by the bartender but it was terrible. He took away my full glass & charged me $17.00 for it. Left without eating that night. Also the front desk people were not personable at all.

We like this hotel. It is homey and cozy and is in a good location if you have friends or business in the area. We were not able to try the restaurant (it used to be fabulous) because on the Sunday morning we were there the restaurant opens at 9 am and closed at 10 am. Then open at 10:30 again! What restaurant anywhere, especially in a hotel does that! Very disappointing. We went elsewhere.
