Great room not far from LAX. Definitely take some time to visit the Second Story. The host - I'm so sorry I missed his name - was friendly and welcoming. We had a drink and a meal - spicy squid, fish tacos and the blackened salmon and dessert. Meal was perfect and we were pleasantly surprised as it was well above the standard we expected. Delicious

Wonderful hotel. Only complaint is that you have to pay $30 or so for valet parking. I feel like that wasn’t explained in Expedia but maybe I just missed it. Seems excessive. But hotel is wonderful for the price so I don’t mind.

The staff here is A . So glad i picked this place over other better known names. The rooms are cute, the garden is a nice touch and big area, with places to sit. The pool is small but sheltered from the wind and very clean. The restaurant/bar is basic and handy, has happy hour, but no gluten free options. And, bikes you can rent or walk to the beach

Great neighbourhood. Hotel felt dated and rooms smelled funny. The gym has new equipment, but small. If you’re thinking about spending a day at the pool, don’t bother. It’s needs a major renovation and is not inviting at all.

Stayed here 2 nights on our LA trip! The overall setup for the hotel is amazing...from friendly and knowledgeable front desk and in house restaurant to the pool and hotub. Within walking distance to the beach! There is a 24/7 convenience store out back and the rooms come w newer TVS and a Record Player!! Will always spend a night here when in Cali so thanks again for another great stay

The outdoor pool area could use some tropical type plants/ updating. Nice jacuzzi & firepits but not clear how to use the firepits. Those simple changes could lead to greater feel/ ambiance

I’ve stayed at this property three times over the past ten years. The convenience to Manhattan Beach and staff professionalism can’t be beat. It’s a nice, unique, cozy boutique hotel. Between the last two stays, I’ve noticed a degradation in the facility. There’s a distinct smell of mold near the elevators, especially on the main floor. My bed was lumpy and the springs squeaked. There were ants in the bathroom near the tub. Overall, a budget-friendly cozy hotel that’s starting so show some age.

The hotel is a ok choice. It’s easy to get to downtown LA. There is places to eat at the Point. There is also a soul cycle for those interested. The staff are also very kind, helpful and want to help. Our room however was a horrible. There was hair in our bathroom and all over our towels. To be fair the hotel did rectify it but it was our anniversary weekend 😒 also the room smelt like a sewer especially coming from the bathroom.

Liked how it looked online. Close to beach. Was disappointed in the gym. Looked as if they turned one of the rooms into a gym, very small. Went to workout and it was two people already there and it was crowded. You have to valet park. The shower had hair in it, not very well cleaned. First day had ants in the bathroom. Didn’t think it was a big deal. Next day when I returned from breakfast, there was ants in one of the beds and on the floor and more in the bathroom. Then found some type of bug crawling over the bed. When i called the front desk and told them about the problem, they ask me would I like them to come spray?? That through me off. Spray? I said no and can I get another room. They accommodated me with another room within a hour. Food was good at the restaurant but not a lot of choices.

I read some reviews about this property on another site and they weren’t that great. But I already booked it so we went. The room was bright and spacious and newly remodeled. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean. There is limited parking, but we came back pretty late one night and the valet found us a spot to park. The neighborhood around the hotel is quiet and seems very safe. Service was adequate and we had no problems whatsoever. (I don’t think I have ever said that about a property before).

1st and foremost at check-in I was asked if I'd ever been there before. I hadn't and I am sure that is why they gave me an odd number room, NOISE FROM THE STREET. Just ask for an even room as the main drag won't be a problem. The room was vlean. Bathroom needs to be remodeled, but it was clean. Nice location. Plan to pay for breakfast if you choose to eat there. $25 to park your car? BS. Live and learn. This was a good stay all things said

Great place close to everything we needed! Beautiful rooms with a record player, and the lobby has a whole shelf of records for you to pick and take to your room to listen. Nice touch!

Very friendly staff and updated rooms. Our “garden view” room looked onto a wall four feet away and some off season furniture storage. At check in we were told we did not “get anything” because we made our reservation through a third party. I guess that’s why we got the worst room in the hotel.

Location was walkable to Manhattan Village shopping center, where I needed to go each day for business. It’s a further 25-min walk to the beach. Highlights were the comfortable bed, outdoor patio (with 2 locks!), and the help from Colin at the front desk. Unfortunately the hot and cold were installed in reverse in my shower, leading me to think there was no hot water on my first day shower. My tub was also slow to drain, but Colin scheduled maintenance, and the issue was fixed quickly. Water does indeed get very hot! Lastly, it was very easy to hear people walking above overnight. Solid stay for the convenience to the mall and airport. Would likely choose a different location if I wanted closer beach access!

Overall good stay. Mostly clean, comfortable beds, nice and accommodating staff. Areas of improvement below: The super thick carpet was a major negative for me. Especially in a beach town. Carpet is so out these days in hotels from a sanitation perspective. It’s a pretty modern hotel so I’m surprised they haven’t gotten rid of it. This one change would significantly level up this hotel. Shower pressure was poor. And you could hear full conversations from neighboring rooms via the bathroom vent which was not ideal at all.

From check in to checkout we had excellent service. All the staff were very friendly especially Antonio in the restaurant who had a very warm, welcoming smile. Gym has enough to get you by. We would definitely stay here again.

Staff at the Belamar was top notch the entire trip. Valet staff was very friendly and very quick, put up with my family coming and going all weekend with a smile. Front desk was great, answered any questions i had and was kind enough to keep our luggage stored for us so we could spend one last morning at the beach without the hassle. I would, and have, recommend to everybody travelling as a family

Customer service was horrible. They lost power for over 5 hours. People were stuck in the elevator. We all had to walk down the stairs with no lighting. Not one time did anyone communicate with us. Very disappointing and very unprofessional.

Our stay was amazing! Front desk staff and valets were wonderful to us! Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel is clean, safe, comfortable and quiet plus centrally located making it easy to walk to the places we needed to go. There is a beautiful mall across the street and within walking distance of the hotel. This hotel made our trip excellent. We would stay here again next time we’re in Manhattan Beach.

The gentleman that checked me in was extremely Rude and obviously couldn’t care less in being Hospitable let alone polite. He checked me into a room that was sub-pare (bath tub had a large hole, counter was obviously repaired….poorly, etc.), gave no instructions on how the TV worked or WiFi login. I was tired so I didn’t say anything. The next day I spoke with the person at the front desk about my check in experience and was quickly moved to a better/cleaner room. The woman was very accommodating and polite, but I continued to see the gentleman that checked me in and my experience was tainted. I don’t know if he’s the son of the owner and that’s why he works there, but he shouldn’t be in the hospitality business as it reflects poorly on your property, especially at the price point that I paid per night ($250)!

Front desk check in was not the smoothest. Room not ready even after 4pm. No smooth communication between front desk and housekeeping. Front desk agents could work on their customer service especially with each other. Giving hostile vibes if no team work. Valet guys on the other hand were excellent with the courteous and hospitable demeanors. Rooms nice, beds small. Bathroom needs done upgrading. Great towels. A/C issues. Love the nearby shopping, restaurants and beach.

Convenient location south of LAX. Short drive to beach. Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach strands are great for strolls along the beach while admiring the homes! Plenty of dining choices nearby. Clean and updated rooms. Turntable in the room and albums available in the lobby to take to your room (at no charge.)

Let's start with the positive: the rooms are nice and large and the bed was comfy. They have netflix and things on large TVs but you need to login to your own account. The pool area is only ok and the outdoor areas not nearly as large as made to look in the photos. Less good - the location wasn't as great as I'd hoped. It's on a main road and near malls, but a decent walk from the main Manhattan Beach area with any decent cafes or beach. Service was competent but not warm, and they could accomodate my request for a hot water kettle. Overall it was fine but I probably wouldn't stay here again. I also get annoyed at having no proper mugs or glasses in the room - why keep producing landfill?? This seems to be everywhere in America though.

Loved the artsy flair with attention to alot of cool decorative ideas; record players in rooms a very neat touch. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The only thing I didn’t like was having to pay to park as a extra charge and no complimentary breakfast.

The lady who takes orders was rude. I was standing there at least 10 mins and she didn’t even acknowledge me. I had to say something to her and when I did she said “I’m working by myself and if yi can’t wait you can leave”! I guess my skin wasn’t white enough to even say “hold on , I’ll be with you in a second”. I really wanted to curse her out and leave. But i didn’t because it wa late and I wanted something to eat.
