Extended Stay America Suites - Los Angeles - Monrovia

There was only 1 trash can in the room & it was in the kitchen. The stair well smelled like urine. The elevator didn’t work for a day. We were on the 2nd floor & my husband was on crutches. The website there was breakfast. It was muffins, granola bars, instant oatmeal & coffee. The rooms were old & tired. Looked like they haven’t been updated since the 70’s.

The hotel reeked of pot, my room, the hallways, the lobby all smelled like pot. The tub had peeling paint all over it, disgusting. The closet had no door, carpet was filthy. No ice machine in the hotel. Very disappointed.

The young lady representative with the short hair was exceptionally helpful and polite. She offered extra time if needed to check out even though we did not need it. The location did not have pool or Jacuzzi which was unfortunate, we would have indulged, but that was not why we were there. The restaurant are in quick proximity which we loved. The vending machine was pricy, a bag of chips was $4.05. The rooms are a bit older and shower had paint peeling and the shower head sprayed weird but the sleep was good and comfy and the water was long lasting hot. I would stay there again.

Power went out in the dark all night elevator did not work. No continental breakfast would like a refund I bought stay protection but have not heard back from Expedia very disappointed customer after using Expedia for over a year.

The sofa bed had three large stains. Not enough pillows. No ice machine. They tell you free breakfast. They ought to say free coffee and muffins. Not impressed. I would not rate this place higher than three star and that’s because it didn’t feel unsafe.

I was double charged, but they fixed it. The keycard system was down, had to wait to be let into our room. Also, we requested a toaster and utensils and were told to give them 30 mins, but never came.

Convenient location, property is a little run down. Only one elevator works and the restroom needs an update. The door kept getting stuck on us when we tried to entered

Staff was generally courteous. Room was clean to start with, but by the time I finished my two weeks stay, it definitely needed room service (their policy is no free room service for stays upto two weeks - so you have to remove your trash too). You have to ask for utensils and dishes at the front desk if you intend to cook. In my room the fridge was leaking and it didn't get fixed till I left.

Property is beginning to run down from my previous visits. Dirty windows with spider webs all over them somehow takes away from view of beautiful mountains nearby. Closet doors stuck and do not close. A kitchen is provided, but no utensils or pans ( I’ll never leave home again without my cast iron fry pan somewhere in my luggage). And finally, memos from GM taped to every door in building regarding entry of management to inspect all rooms and visitors belongings for undisclosed items. Further statements state that failure to allow search or entry into room will be met by calls to appropriate authorities and possible removal from premises. WHAT? I’m not part of your drug problem and won’t be in the future as I am moving my business elsewhere. Memo never disclosed what they were looking for or why, but GM’s memo was clearly deficient in “warm and fuzzy “ language. Strange weekend all around …

The key making machine broke 2 days ago since not repaired so the limited front counter desk personnel has to accompany each guest to their room. 1. They should have a space or 2 there is another Extended Stay .25 mi away so they could have gone there to nakeckrys

Building had a strong small of cigarettes. Toilet was broken on the first room and they had no maintenance staff to fix it. Got transferred to another room the following day, which had bugs in the kitchen (small roaches). Very disappointed

Room was dirty and there was white liquid leaking out of the floors. Hallway smelled like sewer and the hallway carpet was squishy and flooded with some type of water.

Bad smell, stained bedding and carpets, curtains in need of replacing, water bubble in ceiling above the bed, refrigerator and the Ac were loud when running, mold in the bathrooms, mattress stained, holes and tears in couch. TV was old could only watch their cable instead of stream your services on a smart tv. Had to check out any dishes or appliances you wanted to use. No shampoo or lotion but they did have some small bars of soap available. I would never stay here again.

It was SO disgusting!! Cockroaches running around the room everywhere. No shampoo ,& conditioner,No soap, no dishes, no silverware,nothing nice about it!! It smells like weed throughout the entire hotel. The smell hit me as soo as i opened the lobby door. The guy at the front desk was so rude. I tried to be friendly to him and not even a smile no response I remember a couple years ago when we stayed there it was nothing like this the guy was friendly but now they have a bunch of homeless people all around the building that looks like they got kicked out and are sleeping outside the building. Do not pay you I asked for a refund as soon as I seen the Cockroaches and they refuse to give me a refund I did not sleep all night I was not about to get in that bed very very dirty !!

Not a desirable place to stay! It was dirty, had the musty smell, supposedly non-smoking but entire inn smelled like cigarette. The room where we stayed, the carpet was dirty and sticky, the bathroom had mildew and ants. The air conditioner was so so. The grab breakfast items like the muffins was stale. Never again will we stay at Extended Stay

Rooms and corridor were smelling. Inside areas were run-down. There were ants in the room. Not worth the money. Avoid.

Elevator is slow as hell and loud. No ice machines. Coffee wasn't fresh. And breakfast didn't exist. False advertisement.

Rooms are spacious and clean. Neighborhood is quiet even by freeway. Staff has always been friendly and helpful … but no trash cans. What’s with that? Otherwise, a good value for the money.

The room is clean but you can hear people slamming doors in the middle of the night . Restless night .

Shower was kind of broken, spider in bathtub. Hole in wall under kitchen sink, sliding window broken. It works though.

Staff and area are great. This is an aging property that needs some serious remodeling and new furniture. The top sheet on our bed had a hole in it from wear. The tub had some stains and it didn't look clean.

The location was great, it is surrounded by many shops and by the freeway. The staircases smell pretty bad. The beds were terrible! 3 of the mattresses sink in pretty badly and gave us terrible back aches!

Liked the availability of a wakeup call in the AM and friendly front desk personnel. Didn't like the absence of the room we booked, but we were upgraded for a discount by the front desk staff without a problem. Freeway noise could be a problem at night, as it is adjacent to the hotel. The microwave didn't work.

Check in was easy and the guy at the counter was nice enough. Upon arrival we were hit with the stink of the place. Then we headed up to our floor and the smell intensified. The whole hotel smells so gross. We get to our room and are getting ready to crash after a 7 hour road trip when low and behold the fold out sleeper sofa is not a double. Not even close. The description for the room we chose stated it slept 4 with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. We have 2 girls 7 and 10 of average size that were going to share the sofa. No way they were going to fit. So I make my way downstairs to speak with front desk staff to explain the situation. He said those are the biggest sized sofas they have. So I ask for alternative accommodations. Possibly 2 queens or a cot at the least but again these are not an options. We figured we could make it work so we asked for linens. The straw that broke the camels back was he didn’t have pillows. How the hell do you not have pillows for your guests?! So at 10:30pm with exhausted kids we attempt to make other arrangements. We asked for a refund and luckily found a Best Western that had an actual double sleeper sofa. I’m hoping this one hotel isn’t a reflection on the brand as a whole but it’s a terrible representation. Do yourself a fave and just don’t stay here.

The complete room is out dated, in need of major renovation.

Easy access to hwy 210 and restaurants nearby. Internet connection is unstable upon devices, hallway is dark and carpets are old.. Towels renew and room cleaning each two weeks or $10 per day.

Nice and safe area. Staff were very friendly. When we first arrived the room given to us had a not so cold air conditioner but as soon as told the front desk they changed our room. Very easy. Great place to stay and will definitely be back.

Worst experience. There is no one at reception any time. Every time we have to wait for few mins for someone to appear from inside

Absolute worst customer service Luciano was the staff on site and was it very clear he was not a happy camper working there we called him out on his rudeness he returned my id walked away and left us without a place to stay that night. Absolutely terrible customer service

It was a terrible experience. The guy at the front desk had a nasty attitude. He denied our booking we had made at hotels.com. They said that that’s what how they did it. Overbooked and it was my problem for not checking before when I know my booking. Was already confirmed. Although, we never stayed, they still charged me. I wish they would have handled it different. At least a phone call saying that my booking was being cancelled.

Great location for us, comfortable room. We stayed a few nights - the kitchen was perfect for cooking a couple of meals. At the beginning of our stay there was a booking error and we didn't get the right room; employee Heidi went above and beyond to make sure we got moved to the right room the next night. Kudos to her for great customer service.

Staff working at location gave me an incredibly difficult time about my Expedia booking. Tried charging me again even after I told them the room was already paid for.

It was perfect for what we needed. No frills, but clean, spacious, great shower pressure. Easy on and off freeway.

The physical space is fine. This is not a nice area. Any time of day people were loitering in the parking lot. NOTE: breakfast is ready to serve oatmeal, granola bars and pre packaged muffins.

I drove from Las Vegas for a festival in town and this place was terrible. Many sketchy characters around and cars in the lot sitting on bricks. I didn’t feel safe as a solo female traveler and ended up driving back home. Don’t recommend at all

Took a while for someone to appear at desk to check in. The entire property smells of Marijuana, all the time. At least I could open the window for "fresh air" but it is next to the freeway so it\'s a little noisy. The room was fine, though. And staff was fine once they got there.

Advertises a breakfast, nothing more than a coffee and granola bar. Lots of dogs Others reported smell and musty rooms, I agree..... Had to go to front desk 3 times on check in, just to get key cards to work. Go somewhere else

Good location. Maintenance of common area need deep cleaning, hallways elevators. Breakfast is not really breakfast, what is provided is minimal and there is no eating area like other hotels.

We were greeted by very friendly staff. That is the best things about this location. The facility was clean albeit old and not kept up. The booking lists that a breakfast is included. This is not true. It includes coffee and a muffin (which was stale). That was one of the reasons that I chose this location.

Everything was really good I enjoyed this day the breakfast was good the customer service was good the manager the new manager is really good

The breakfast was snack bars. No fresh food. The coffee was ok, but Panera and Trader Joe’s are walking distance. Man with big Pitbull walking down the hall was a bit intimidating.

Rooms need huge upgrades such as paint & other little things, restroom was a bit dirty, found hairs & the toilet seat had urine stains. Breakfast is just coffee, muffins, and oatmeal. They shouldn’t promote breakfast if it really isn’t a breakfast..
