Napa River Inn

We really enjoyed our stay at the Napa River Inn. The hotel is in the most perfect downtown location with plenty of free parking and within walking distance to all of the restaurants, bars and stores in downtown Napa. We stayed in room E112 which is in the annex building a short walk from the hotel lobby. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed, nice size bathroom and separate sink and vanity area, in room safe and coffee maker. We also enjoyed the excellent pastries that were delivered to us each morning. Also, if you are driving an electric vehicle they have free charging stations for hotel guests. The staff were excellent especially the bellhops who were extremely helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

I expect a lot at $500+ a night. Napa River Inn delivers a solid experience for the Expedia traveler. Upgraded river view room! Check! Free bottle of wine! Check! Free parking! Check! Free continental breakfast delivered! Check. It was a lovely stay, although be ready for a bit of noise in the hallways and above. Older building, so to be expected. Enjoyed the balcony and comfy bed. Very clean and charming decor. Can’t beat the location. Try Celadon in the same building for dinner and the Mondavi tasting experience nearby.

Great location and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at Sweetie Pies is always so good! I love the welcome sign for the all the dogs!

Great hotel on the river and close to so many outstanding restaurants and bars. This quaint hotel even includes a lovely breakfast next door at Sweeties and free parking! This will be my hotel choice everytime we are in Napa! P

The property was beautiful and on the river. Location was fabulous! Fresh pastries every morning from an amazing local pastry shop… Sweetie Pies. Would highly recommend.

There is no pool in the hotel which surprised us. After checking many hotels before booking, I must have forgotten to check if this one has a pool.

Very quaint Historic Hotel nice location that is walkable to First Ave and Oxbow, but away from busier areas. It would be a nice property for families with bakery, candy store below, but no pool. We came in Jan. Assume it would be very pleasant in warm weather. Rooms was larger than expected and had everything we wanted. I did unplug the fridge which was very noisy and there was morning garbage truck on Sat. Liked the Fink below hotel as well and restaurants were popular below but did not try. Friday wine reception was nice touch - wish it everyday. Iced water in reception was also only on Friday, it would nice if available all the time.

It was in the center of many restaurants and the extras were super nice: free parking, free breakfast and right on the river.

Very warm welcoming. Bell boys were very knowledgeable and helpful. Concierge helped us get reservations and gave us great pointers. Bed was very comfortable. Had all the amenities you would need including cotton balls and q-tips. Our patio was perfect and we could watch the trains. We didn’t use housekeeping but we did have a little issue and she stopped what she was doing to help us. Breakfast from the bakery was great. Loved that they allowed room service from the bakery. Big thank you to Dewayne and Rebecca at the bar. We would go there for our night cap. We had never been to Napa before and with this experience I can’t wait to come back. I can’t say enough great things about this place. After all first impressions are lasting impressions. Thank you Napa Inn for such great customer service!

Great location and really well appointed rooms, no view from our room and no bar or lounge in hotel, expected more for $600 + per day rate

The hotel was very clean and close to all the shops and restaurants.

It was a beautiful property and room. The only issue I had was black mod in the shower.

We have stayed at this property before (which is an endorsement in itself) and are never disappointed. The staff is always pleasant and responsive, going above and beyond to provide service. The hotel is clean, comfortable, well designed, and quiet, despite its central location.

It was very clean, comfortable and walkable to downtown Napa. It also has several restaurants and bars next to or attached to it. Perfect for what we were looking for!

The facility is located in a great area, close to downtown Napa and some of Napa's best restaurants. Parking was easy and free! The room was very outdated, noisy and dirty. Would not recommend this property.

Loved the location of the Napa River Inn. It is in a beautiful setting. It is an easy walk to many restaurants and shops. The staff is friendly and competent. Our room was very clean. The room itself was large and had many amenities. Highly recommend.

The location is nice because it’s close to a lot of restaurants and shops. Our room is quaint but too dark inside. We can’t open the shades to all the windows because our room is facing the parking lot. I think painting all the bricks white will help brightened the room because it has dark carpet, dark wood panels and furniture. The carpet needs to be sanitized not just vacuumed, not just in our room but the hallways as well.

Terrible hotel. Room was dark to the point you could not see without lights during the day. Old carpet with a bad odor, old furniture, bad floor plan, small windows with shutters that blocked even further the limited light!! Most depressing room I have experienced. Unreasonably priced with a misleading description. No toilets in reception area. Only positive was free parking.

The building near the water is a little dated and the hallways smell kind of musty. The front bldg where the reception is feels fresher. The front desk staff were awesome.

We enjoyed our stay very much it was a great location to walking shops and food. The staff was very accommodating and upgrade our room with a balcony and view of the river. The only complaint I have is the upstairs noise

We were in the Embarcadero building. Too much furniture in the room — we could barely get around without bumping into something. The bed and pillows were worn out — we slept terribly. Worst of all, this “four star hotel” has those in-room air conditioning floor units so you are either freezing cold from air blowing on you or you’re burning up because the air hasn’t kicked in. General Store closes at 4 pm and it’s basically a cultural ghost town at that point. I can’t recommend this place — lots od other options.

Convenient location, love the breakfast option with the bakery cafe onsite and tons of nearby restaurants that are walkable and that we can park our car there with ease. The area is a bit noisy at times and the room is a bit tight especially the bathroom and sink area.

Loved the fireplace in the room and the river view!

We had a very large corner room on the river that was super quiet and very pleasant. The bed was amazing and we were able to walk all around the area for dining options and shopping. We enjoyed stating here and would again. We were there January 8 2025.

The location of the Napa River in is right in the heart of Napa, where almost anything yo need is in walking distance. There are restaurants, retail, tasting rooms, and services nearby. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff are courteous and considerate. I will stay here again when I visit Napa.

Room was comfortable but dark and cave light. Off of an alley facing a bar/restaurant so noisy.

This hotel is dated and our room was dark with no view of anything. I’d rather stay away from the river and have a nicer room.

Unique boutique hotel built in an old mill. Interesting history and many eateries and shops near by. My only complaint is that the double room was small and double beds narrow. Would not recommend for a family of 4 (and had I known, would have ordered 2 rooms). But service was excellent and entire facility, very clean. Nice location for visiting wineries…

Our stay was excellent. Every member of the staff was extremely nice and accommodating. On top fo that they are wlvery efficient and effective. THEY made the stay amazing! The location and properry are top notch. Very beautiful grounds with lots of good food and nearby sights and attractions. Only knock is the bed could be more comfortable.

We have stayed at this property a couple of times and really appreciate the quiet, easy and convenient location. You can easily walk all of downtown Napa and across river the Oxbow and other locations. It feels quiet and safe. Parking is super easy and convenient. The staff here is excellent and so attentive. When you arrive there are always a few people ready to attend to you, bags, car, etc. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly as is the housekeeping staff. The bakery next door is excellent and its a perfect quick bite, coffee or sweet treat. We have only ever stayed in the Plaza building which many rooms face the river. They are beautiful, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and plenty of amenities. Our one complaint is the building hallways and common areas feel dated and older. Very nice but could use a bright, freshening up soon. Our other complaint is that we had a small child above us on our second night that was running, jumping, bouncing and yelling for a solid 2 hours after arrival. We called to front desk and they promptly contacted the guest but it only seemed to escalate the noise. A second phone call seemed to quiet things a bit but first thing the next morning the stomping, jumping, screaming and yelling began early and continued for quite some time until we decided to just check out early and get going. It didn't ruin our trip but it was unfortunate and I would suggest they try to put people with younger children on the first floor.

Do not book this hotel on a “third party site”. I booked months ago for my employees that won a raffle. The description in ours say courtyard view and free bottle of wine. When the employee called to let them know they would be later in the day, she was informed by the front desk they had a balcony room for her. When they got there… they were told they don’t know who she spoke with and they didn’t even have the room I booked available and she was put in an inside room with a view of the parking lot and a brick wall and no bottle of wine. The hotel said they don’t see any of the notes from hotels.com and didn’t know the details of the room.

We loved this riverfront hotel. The whole area was a delight: River, shops, dining, entertainment, etc. all just a short walk away. The staff were professional and thoughtful. A card and chocolate treat were left for my hubbys birthday. Sweetie Pies bakery (associated with hotel) is a don’t miss it! Best breakfast, lunch, treats. Thank you! Thank you

This is a lovely and cozy boutique hotel with a great location. Rooms are generous in size with a well appointed bathroom and sitting area. Reception was a bit lukewarm. Housekeeping cleaned the room on the second day of my stay and did not shut the door. When I returned in the evening, the door was ajar and the room open to anyone who would want to enter. I brought this to the attention of the front desk who was completely unconcerned with this security breach.

Great location in Napa with lots of bars and restaurants around and a nice river walk right near the hotel. A bit disappointing to be woken at 3.30am by a naked guy banging on our door. We had to call the front desk to get security to remove him and when we checked out no report had been made by either reception or security to record the incident which bothered me.

This is a fantastic high-service property. The staff is outstanding and truly cares about each guest. They go out of their way to celebrate the guest. Truly one of the best hotels i have ever stayed with.

From the moment you walk through the door, you feel at home! Their service was impeccable! Very friendly, professional and helpful staff! Our room was beautiful, bed is comfortable and the hotel grounds were manicured daily. They are a dog-friendly hotel and welcomed our dog with open arms- welcome sign and gift basket! The location of the property is prime for walking around downtown Napa and for enjoying the river front. The greenery and potted plants surrounding the hotel are beautiful & well maintained. There are many good restaurants, wine bars, and boutique shops within a 2-3 block radius of the hotel. The hotel is quite large, the lobby is small but pretty, and the well-appointed rooms are nicely sized. At this price point (~$500/night) and location, however, I would have expected a complementary beer/wine/cheese Happy Hour reception daily in the lobby or on the back patio, and complimentary hot coffee/tea available in the lobby each morning. Neither were offered. Instead one receives a $10/pp voucher for breakfast at the next-door bakery or the option of a small basket of bakery items delivered to your hotel room. Neither were particularly satisfactory. The only other negative comment was the lack of sufficient water pressure in the shower. We stayed 3 nights and it did not improve during that time. Friends staying in 2 other rooms confirmed the lack of water pressure. All in all it is a lovely property, I just expected a little more "boutique luxury" at that nightly rate.

This is a beautiful property right in the heart of Napa, a short walk from everything we wanted to do!

From check in to check out, the service was impeccable and nearly invisible. The bed was luxurious and comfortable. Access to downtown and nearby restaurants an easy walk. Parking was convenient. Pastries from Sweetie Pies were an added treat. And be sure to have a drink at the Fink (next door).

Wonderful stay! Hotel was so nice and had the historic feel. Staff was super friendly. The best part was getting complimentary delicious fresh pastries delivered to the room every morning!

The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. The warm greeting upon entry sets a positive tone right away. The cleanliness of the room was on point.I especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the ability to walk to two of my favorite restaurants. I appreciated the morning delivery of fresh pastries from the bakery next door are delicious!

The breakfast partnership was excellent... best breakfast sandwich and pastries we had during our trip!

10 of 10 stars for me! Everything was perfect. From the bell hops, to the front desk staff, they were all so friendly and kind. Our room was great! Overlooked part of the river from our balcony, complete with table and 2 chairs. The restaurant, Celadon, is superb!!! We loved that this hotel was in walking distance of many shops, restaurants, wine tasting, etc. Walked back to the hotel in the dark and felt very safe! We'll definitely be staying here again!
