shower drain smelled the whole room up and the water was yellow

Everything was great until Icouldn't take a shower. The mechanism on tub spout that changes from tub to shower was frozen solid stuck. So, I had to leave without a shower. I can't imagine other guests or housekeeping haven't noticed it.
