Property was centrally located in Montecito, however, the property rooms are small and dated and the building elevator was broke for five days during our stay. I wouldn’t recommend staying here again as there are other properties in this area that seem more updated and accommodating for our needs.

When I made my reservation I received an email that the elevator was broken and out of use. I called and was told it was to be fixed before we arrived. When we arrived it was not Andy our room was in the third floor. When we told the hotel clerk on duty we couldn’t walk up 3 floors she wanted to upgrade us for a fee and we objected and let her know what we were told the elevator would have been fixed upon check in so she agreed to give us a room on the first floor without an addl charge w/o an upgrade finally.

I really enjoyed staying here. Accommodating staff; valet made it very convenient. Pool area was very nice. I stayed during the week and it was quiet. Restaurant serves great food and bar a good socializing spot. Great location and overall great experience.

A wonderful place in a great location. You an easily walk up and down Coast Village Road in Monticeto, and it is right next to Lucky's. The restaurant and bar in the hotel is also excellent. The fitness room has some dumbells, weight machines and some cardio machines, so one can definitely get a workout in. I would highly recommend the property to anyone who wants to go to Santa Barbara and stay in Monticeto.

Lovely restored hotel in the middle of Santa Barbara, surrounded by excellent restaurants, including the one associated with the hotel. Staff provides outstanding service to compensate for basic issues with structure of hotel - vintage elevator, for example, and could not get hot water for a shower. Lovely hot tub though, as well as swimming pool.

This is an older property but well maintained and in an absolutely perfect location. We were able to walk for meals shopping and to the beach easily. The bikes were also great to use for exploring. Staff were gracious and attentive. When we checked out they had already gone to get our car because they recognized us ! The pool is small but well maintained. We had the pool area to ourselves quite a bit but when it fills up it can be a little loud. I highly recommend Jeanine’s for breakfast and the honor bar for cocktails. Both just steps away. Just a truly wonderful stay in a magical area for relaxing and unwinding.

The king room was very small, and the window latch didn’t even lock. The elevator is from 1930, which is fine if you can handle keeping two door doors open and get your luggage in all by yourself. On the plus side, the staff was very good, the place was very clean, it was quiet, I just don’t think they should be renting a walk-in closet as a king room.

The room we are in is much too loud from traffic outside, voices in the hallway, and noise from other guests staying above us. There are stains on the curtains and lampshades. We will never stay here again.

The hotel is old and in bad condition ! The mattress is very uncomfortable, just got up with the worst back pain i have had for years . Bathroom is old and not updated , shower belongs in the a $ 20 room not $470 room tolilet seat is damaged and looks dirty the bed is stained nd the pillows have blood on them . Mold in the windows and broken floor molding.

Our room was very dated and tired. The dresser was old and the drawers barely opened. The standing lamp was rickety. The bathroom was tiny and the shower water was like needles. Our room was not cleaned and when we asked for service we were told we had to request cleaning. We were not told this at check in. The dark closet had no light. The property is old but charming. The staff was nice.

Very quaint older inn with lots of charm. Does need some updates. Carpet musty. We were on 2nd floor, and guest above us on 3rd floor very heavy footed. Our whole room shook every time they walked! Very close and walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. In house restaurant a great plus! The staff was very friendly!

First of all, the bar and restaurant is GREAT! Nice atmosphere and design, ambiance, loved it. Great location. Rooms are classic european style, they've been remodeled. While not fancy, they are retro, classic, presentable and best suited for short stays. Our problem was this terrible moldy smell in the room. Since we only stayed one night, we decided not to change rooms, a decision we regret.Otherwise, the hotel is an experience if you like a vintage feel.

The location of the Inn is great. The rooms are mediocre, nothing special. Bathrooms are tiny and water pressure is super low in the shower. The bed was super uncomfortable. For the cost of the stay I was expecting much better.

Snarky check in. No smile. No welcoming greeting.. Pro forma . Bored. Done this a million times. Glaring due to the contrast to the enthusiastic reception we’d experienced the day before at another hotel. As an older couple with obviously heavy luggage we were surprised that hotel receptionist suggested we could take the elevator OR the stairs, a very steep set of stairs. Room decor was tired, door to the drink cabinet fell off when we opened it. Exceedingly small bathroom. In stark contrast the valet was extremely enthusiastic and accommodating.Isn’t this all upside down?

The Montacito Inn has become our favorites spot to stay. The staff is amazing the bartender Kobe always bends backwards to make sure we are happy and the valet guys are amazing. The location is incredible but the staff really sells it.

We enjoyed our stay at this older but remodeled hotel for two nights. Our room was clean, comfortable, and the amenities were nice. However, we were disappointed to find a charge for a $70 robe we never touched or used on our final bill. We called the hotel to clarify the charge, but unfortunately, the issue was never resolved despite follow-up by email. This left a sour note on an otherwise pleasant experience.

Great location in a great neighborhood. Next door to a lot of great restaurants and boutiques. Very close to the main beach and State Street. Easily accessible to the freeway but this is a negative as there is a lot of noise which interferes with sleep at night. Showers had low pressure and ran out of water during middle of a shower which is a negative. Excellent restaurant with reasonable prices. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable.

Aged. Poor finishes. Everything was crooked - floor, doors, etc. The bed was comfortable. Noisey as it's near a freeway. If you go into it thinking an antique experience you will be fine. If you are looking for Montecito elegant. Look elsewhere.

The property is in desperate need of renovation. The bathrooms are outdated and in poor condition and the bedroom furniture was falling apart. The restaurant staff were inexperienced and badly trained. Cold coffee at breakfast is not a good excuse!
