Stayed 1 night

This property wasn’t bad, but definitely not what I was expecting. I stayed for 1 night and upon check-in I was charged $15 for an overnight parking pass, and a $65 hold was charged to my CC in addition to the room rate. It also took at least 20 mins to get the card reader to work. Once that issue was resolved, I requested to be moved to a room with a partial ocean view if possibly we because the initial room smelled damp and was told it would be a $15 upgrade fee. Fortunately, the cost to upgrade was waived (thanks!). The staff was friendly, but the property could definitely use some maintenance (i.e. paint, windows, light fixtures, furniture, doors etc.). I can’t say I would choose to stay at this property again in the future, but all in all it was quiet and there were no issues at checkout.

Our stay at The Inn at East Beach was unfortunately disappointing. The motel looked nothing like the photos online, which felt incredibly misleading. The rooms and overall cleanliness were below expectations, and it was clear the property hasn’t been maintained to the standard the pictures suggest. The location is convenient being close to the beach was the one bright spot of our stay. The staff was generally fine, but when we requested five additional towels, the front desk responded with, “You need five towels?” in a tone that felt unnecessary and a bit uncomfortable. Another issue was the lobby: the incense smell was so strong it was overwhelming every time we walked through. It didn’t create a welcoming atmosphere and actually made it hard to breathe comfortably. There was a broken chair near the garbage can in the main outdoor gathering area that remained our entire stay. The shower walls and bathroom walls had spackling that had not been finished. There was mold around both bathroom windows. The paint on the concrete around the pool is peeling. They do have a small fenced in dog bathroom area, which was helpful. Overall, the proximity to the beach was great, but the deceptive photos, lack of cleanliness, and odd customer service moments made this stay far from what we expected. (I wish I could add photos to this review.) I would have selected different accommodations, and I would have been willing to pay more for a cleaner less deceptive place.

Very outdated on inside and not clean. Major construction happening in back and it’s crazy loud. You can also hear the freeway all night.
