Friendly, clean, comfortable and convenient. McKenna at front desk was very friendly and helpful! Walking distance to anything you need and very close to Durango train. Pool was very cloudy so not sure what was going on. Breakfast was fabulous!

We had an excellent stay minus two things. One, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and professional, but there is an obvious lack of training or communication between the staff and management. My clothes got locked in a washing machine at 10 pm. I reported it to the front desk who informed me that a maintenance person would arrive to help. 15 minutes later, no help. I went back down stairs and was informed that the front desk was told that he assisted me. I was waiting for him by the washing machine.... He then called him again. I waited 30 minutes and even tried adding more money in the washer. I went back down stairs, and was told that the guy said, once again, that he assisted me. I went back up stairs to find that the washing machine finally unlocked, but there as soap all over my clothes. I went back down stairs for a refund of my $3.50. This is where things went south. I was informed that they could not give me the money back. Keep in mind, I was only asking for the extra money that I put in to release my clothes and dry them, not the original money. By this time it was 11 something pm. A staff member then insisted on giving me her own money so that I could finish my load. By the time I finished, it was 1am. So much for a good night sleep before travel. The next morning the hotel gave me $4 and said that they helped the staff member who gave me her own money the night before.

Liked the help yourself coffee dispenser near the elevator. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. There should be more outlets to accommodate electronic devices. One day, upon return to the room there was a foul odor in the room - A sewer smell. We opened two doors to clear the air. Management offered to move us. We declined and the odor did not repeat.

The hotel itself was very nice. The room was comfortable, the pool was fun, and the continental breakfast was the best I've had in any hotel. (Chocolate waffles!?) Sadly, the visit ended on a sour note. While we were trying to get ready to check out, the sink in our room started backing up with smelly brown sludge. We called the front desk who said they would send someone up immediately. No one came. Since that was the only sink in the room, it made getting ready there impossible. I had to finish getting ready in the car. When we had finished loading our bags and went to turn in our keys, we showed the lady at the desk the pictures of the sludge and reminded we had called down about this issue nearly an hour ago and no one ever came. When we left the room the sink was nearly full. The only response we got was, "oh, that isn't good. Sorry about that." Really? I've attached a photo of the sludge the first minute it started backing up. I didn't take pictures of the full sink, but it got even more dense and gross.

Unlike previous stays, this time the room smelled like tobacco smoke, it looked quite run down, and the breakfast was unsatisfactory. On previous stays, the breakfast was first rate, but this time they kept running out of food and it was quite messy. I may need to reconsider staying here in the future.

Happy hour compliment drinks are good service. Pool, Jacuzzi water could be little bit cleaner. Cleaning service probably left door open while they were cleaning out room. When we came back, we found more than 20 black little bugs in the room.

The property is in a great location for the railroad, restaurants and shopping. The staff were friendly. The room seemed clean. The pool and hot tub in the atrium area are nice especially for families with young children. The downsides are it is somewhat of an aged building so the rooms were a bit cramped. It was difficult to find working plugs to charge electronics. There was no Smart TV available. The AC units are very loud so it makes it difficult to sleep.

Room was basic but relatively comfortable and was in a great location, very walkable to downtown Durango. However our room had a balcony that overlooked the train yard, and an outdoor entrance, and had a connecting room, and was very loud at night and in the morning. We also couldn’t get very hot water in the morning for a shower.

All three nights that we were there - we could not sleep. One night Two nights the extreme noise from the kids and teens using the indoor pool was just too much to sleep through. The one night that the pool noise was not too bad, the extremely hard mattress was almost painful to sleep on without our extremities feeling tingly or numb. Nice people, clean unit, good free breakfast, - but the noise from the pool and the hard mattress were unbearable.

I checked in online and on my messages to the Hotel I stated we would be in very late. We ended up having car problems and didnt check in until Saturday. When we went in to get our room key the attended told us our reservation was canceled. He wanted to charge us an additional room charge of $300.00. I know I paid extra for protection. We were disappointed. We informed the front desk that we had left our room at 8:30 and requested the room be cleaned. When we arrived at 2:30 the room was untouched. We were tired and wanted to shower and rest and we couldn’t. We were informed that new incoming customers were a priority. Not happy

Stayed primarily for the close proximity to the Silverton train depot which was nice, just a short walk away. Check in was very slow, lobby full of people and only one person to check everyone in, the gentleman checking guests in was doing everything he could to try to get guests checked in as fast as he could but after a long travel day you don’t want to wait an additional 35-45 minutes to get checked in. Room was on the 3rd floor which made it very warm and the AC unit was super loud and would cycle on and off about every 10 minutes at night making a restful night pretty much impossible. All employees that I spoke to were friendly and nice, One other note is there is a large construction project next door and at times the construction noise was very loud

Hotel is convenient to the DS Train and downtown. Parking is competitive- we checked in early and got a great parking spot, so didn’t move it for 3 days! The bathroom is rather small - sink in outer area by closet needs a towel rod. Soap dispensers in shower are sharp! The room safe was locked shut so unusable. Breakfast was pretty good- lots of choices. Enjoyed a swim in the pool.

The first night was great, no problems. The second night we had a noisy neighbor that I think was made worse because of the adjoining door between the rooms. There’s also construction on the building next door that was loud in the morning. I liked everything else about the hotel. The location was great. We were able to walk around downtown to breweries and restaurants.

The room was comfortable and roomy. Happy hour with free drinks was a nice plus. The hot breakfast was a joke. Having stayed at other Best Western facilities I was prepared for a less than stellar meal. However, this Best Western won the worst breakfast award. We were at the breakfast room a little before 9:00 and there was hardly any food. The scrambled eggs were cold and only a spoonful was available. I waited 20 minutes before any were brought out and then only 1/4 painful was furnished. The bacon was gone and not replenished. I have a gluten allergy and could not eat any of the products containing flour. It wasn’t a great start to the morning. When I checked out, I mentioned the poor breakfast offerings but was given mostly lane excuses. Thus is not a cheap hotel to stay, and it isn’t too much to expect a decent breakfast.

Hotel is nice and they offered 2 complimentary drinks during "happy hour" which is a nice touch for people who drink. Room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was great and slightly better options than most hotels. Great location close to the train ride and downtown so we didn't need to drive anywhere while there. I will definitely be staying there again.

If you book third party, they will not help you with anything with your reservation! The drinks at the bar are terrible, the shower got water all over the floor of the bathroom. Other than that, it was a good stay.
