Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot Springs

Very good, clean, quiet property. All staff professional, polite and knowledgable. Two swimming pools, a "Cold Plunge" tub and 8 hot tubs with varying temps. Great location near hiking trails and city walking paths.

The unit we stayed in needed a remodel. No outdoor seating made it unconfortable. Double parking by some made others staying in nearby units angry. Steam room in the cave area wasnt working. Hot springs were okay.

We liked the pool and hot spring area. Pool bar was great. Bartender at the pool was by far the best service and very friendly and accommodating. The staff in the lobby / check in area was less than helpful. Management/ Owner of the property was terrible. They nickled and dimed to death. They had signs everywhere about things you dont want to hear about/ extra charges. They even charged for the robs they had in your room. Would never return to this property under current ownership.

I liked that the property was close to Box Canyon Trail and walkable to town. Our room needed some cosmetic maintenance and the door needed adjusted. It was smaller than my other family members rooms and more expensive per night because we booked later. The room was clean the flowers, courtyard and facilities were nice. I didn't like how slimy the bottom of the hot springs pools were. It made some of them slippery. Overall a good place.

Great beds and sheets, lovely hot spring pools where there was ample space for all, a super location, and the breakfast had a fantastic selection.

Our stay started with a ridiculous check in at a keosk, that worked for one room, but not the other, while 3 people are behind the desk, doing nothing. The rooms were clean, comfortable, nothing special. The pools were outstanding, many hottubs, attached bar and restaurant are handy, but prices are ridiculously high and service slow, I got sick from the philly sandwich. The parking is also an issue, extremely tight spaces, not for pickups, and not enough spaces. Not sure we will be back, but we know what not to do. Look around there's much cheaper places, but if you have kids or love hottubs this will not disappoint.

The exterior of the property was appealing. Dinner at the mineshaft and Breakfast very good. The pools area was nicely laid out but several of the soaking tubs needed to be cleaned. The locker room shower facility was nice. The lodge room needs to be completely redone, from sinking flooring to broken furniture. Mattresses need replaced. THere was about 4 inches around the outside of the bed to try to get out. Also the kids bunks were for someone under 5 ft, and there was not a reference to that on the reservation end. Even though there was staff at the desk on arrival, I had to do kiosk checkin first. Their tiki bar prices were outrageous. Overall not quite the experience I was expecting for the price. The view of surrounding Ouray mountains was a bonus.

Love the location and multiple on site hot tubs! We asked for the burned out light bulb in the lamp to be replaced in our room but it’s not yet replaced.

Great hot springs on property

Not the same anymore. The hot springs didn't have that sulfur smell as normal and the tubs were very slimy causing near slips while getting into the water. We have stayed here multiple times over the years and the hot tubs have never had this. Air conditioner wasn't working in the room and called the office around 8 pm with no answer multiple times, went up there and no one to be found. Thank goodness we had a box fan for the night and we weren't in South Ga.

We paid for a "River View"Garden Room. It was more like the back alley view of a dump. I was bit by some bug during the night and my eye swelled up for over the next week. The mineral spa pools were not clean. There was used band aids by the spa. The breakfast which cost $19.99 per person was horrible! Will never recommend this place!

We travel to Ouray at least once a year and this was our first time staying at Twin Peaks. I had very high hopes and check-in went well and staff was very pleasant. Our room was very cozy and bed comfortable. I was taken back from a sign lying on the bed advising that if we took their towels we would be charged. There was exactly two of each, bath towel, hand towel and washcloth. With a warning like this, one would expect the towels would be of high quality not worn out, nearly threadbaren rags. Each day it was an adventure trying to exchange the wet used towels for fresh ones. We didn’t require daily housekeeping but did need clean towels and the trash removed (which I bagged up and had at the door each morning). During our six night stay, I killed four roaches, tiny ones but totally disgusting. In addition to everything listed, a leak from the room above us started dripping down through the smoke alarm causing it to go off. I called the front desk, left a message, waited, called back and was on hold for 20 minutes. ( yes all the while the alarm ringing) Maintenance came and removed the smoke alarm and stated it was housekeeping pouring water all over the floor above that was causing the leak and they should be finished soon. He moved the trashcan and placed a towel down to soak up any additional water. The smoke alarm was never replaced during our stay. The gourmet breakfast, that was included, was always cold even when arriving at 7:00 am.

Our room was great! It was clean and everyone was friendly! It was a short walk to the hotel's springs and a soak. Check-in was easy and the locker rooms for the springs were spacious and clean and being away from the highway, it was quiet and had wonderful views of the snowy mountains!

The hotsprings on property are AMAZING. They are in great condition, the locker/changing rooms are top notch with heated floors! We so appreciated that they were open from 8-10. The breakfast was good. The room was ok. There was mold on the bathroom cieling. the sheet came off the mattress and exposed a really dirty matress. There was no rug when you first come in and we had just walked through 6+inches of snow, so we had snow all over the carpet by the door. I can't imagine the mold growing under that entry.way carpet. Just rip out the carpet and put in laminate flooring. It's easier to clean up weather. Plain white bedding and clean matresses would be a nice upgrade. Not sure if I would stay here again due to the room.

Loved the onsite hotspring & amazing views from the tubs, breakfast was good, but otherwise the room we got was terrible... unclean, smelled terrible, and was basically in a basement far from the main area of the motel. The worst room we had on an entire 10 day road trip.

The Hot Springs and staff were great! The rooms were ok. Our shower curtain smelled like mold. The pillows were super lumpy. The bedding had rips and holes in them. Our bathroom light bulbs burned out and the whole place could use some new carpet. Or at least the rooms along side the river. It seems the rooms by the pool have been updated so next time we visit we will just book over there.

Twin Peaks is a wonderful property. Rooms are clean, staff is great, the pool/hot tubs were clean and wonderful. Also the daily breakfast buffet was very above average and more of a typical breakfast buffet at a restaurant versus the standard hotel breakfast.

TV programs were mostly offline; soft lumpy bed, Location across the street was a cold walk to the pool in ice and snow;

The pools and soaking tubs were amazing. The dozens of flower pots around the property were beautiful. Great breakfast buffet. The room itself was very basic and dated. T.V. reception was awful, it was barely watchable.

Great location and pool and hot tubs. Quick walk up to Box Canyon Falls. This seemed to be the place to stay in Ouray. Breakfast was also good. Rooms are just outdated- need some updating.

Great place to stay with awesome hot springs and pools. A great breakfast with lots of choices as well. On the could be better side, the rooms are functional but showing some age wear. Our room had uneven, sloping floors. We booked the room that had spa and breakfast included and that was a great deal. Also walking close to restaurants and to box canon.

Rooms are cozy but small. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Excellent Value! Close to town.

The pools and springs were by far the best part. The rooms are very dated with bad squishy carpet. The carpet, old cloth chairs and brown throw pillows need removed.

You stay here for the hot spring pools and the location to downtown, however the rooms are very small and outdated! Our room appeared to not have been updated since the early 1980s and was very cramped inside. The breakfast was alright, although we stayed there for 3 days and they never had butter or cream cheese to put on any of the toast or bagels. I could understand running out 1 day, but would expect those basic condiments to be replenished by the next day.

It was noisy and you could hear the people above clomping around and people outside. We were in a separate building from the main building . So the other part might be better.

The hot springs at the hotel are very nice. The rooms are like a Motel 6.

Wonderful setting, well cared for - though not super updated interiors. Buffet breakfast and access to hot springs/pool were highlights of our stay. Quiet rooms with comfortable beds.

Needs to train staff on customer service. Kiosk checkin should not be primary. Should have personalized service with kiosk as backup.

Don't expect a friendly greeting, just ignore folks at the desk as they are not there to help you, only to point you to the kiosk. Hopefully there is ink in the printer, otherwise look for the friendly maintenance man outside who can guide you to your room. Pity if your room is near the stairs in the "river view" down the road by the maintenance shed--sounds like elephants pounding to your room anytime someone comes or goes. Warn your children DO NOT TOUCH THE ROBES because if they accidentally break the plastic tie the hotel will charge you and grin about it without any apology or understanding. This was a very expensive night and supposed to be a gift for my husband's birthday but we ended up feeling unwelcome and eager to get out of Ouray. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This place was where i wish we had started our trip! We had such a nice time at Twin Peaks! Everything was just right there. I thought the room would be bigger but when they told me my pup was welcome to go wherever we went i didnt care about that! I hate for my dog to be left behind. The thing that will stay with me was the staff...they were all smiles! So kind and respectful and above and beyond helpfull! THEY were what made our stay there feel like a vacation and we were just on a two day getaway! It makes all the difference in the world for me to be greeted with kindness and smiles for the entire stay! I work in the short tern rental business and resort area and we stay at hotels/motels quite a bit and we dont get good "service with a smile" experiences much if at all anymore which is why i dont have "fond memories" of our stays with otber places. I cant say enough about how wonderful your staff were and we cant wait to stay again, soon!

All the staff we worked with were very friendly and helpful. Whenever we had questions they had good immediate resonsies that answered our questions. After a lot of hiking sitting in the hot tubs and swimming in the pools was refreshing. I forgot my water bottle at the pool and told the gal that I would pick up in the morning and before i knew it she was at the door and returned it to me. She went out of her way to be helpful. awesome person. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Some really creative dishes, I liked everything. It was worth every penny. The bartender that served us the first night we were their was a great guy. Made recommendations on beer and appetizers and both were a hit. Wished we lived in Colorado so we could go there more often. Had a great time. Should have stayed an extra day. Group hug to all the staff.

I would have loved the property had there been different owners and staff. Hotel is wonderful. very pretty nice. Set up convenient smoking area. Staff was horribly rude when we checked in. We paid through Expedia. We had a receipt that said paid showing we’d pay 60 at the property.. they argued and argued that we were not paid and stated that they don’t like Expedia they don’t like people booking with Expedia. They don’t recommend anybody to use Expedia book them.. then they tried to collect say already paid. Stay a second time… they provided inconvenient kiosks at the front door to check you in. My chip reader wouldn’t read on the card machine and they were telling us we weren’t paid so we turned to leave.. a few mins later they called us back not to apologize, but to tell us everything was fine with our reservation to come back and we only have to pay the 60. Rooms were great, however, they charge you for water at Hot Springs. They charge you for the use of the robe and their towels.. then we watched the unthinkable. We watched another guest walk up to the pool right after we were turned away. We were told in a very nasty way that pool was closed., after we walked away, another guest walked up, and we proceeded to watch the “manager”, start yelling and cussing and screaming at the guest, who walked up after us. She yelled at him so bad I was going to call the cops myself.. I was truly concerned for the guest. The whole front desk staff was all rude.

Automated check in and out was a little cumbersome. Understanding the initial charges against the CC made no sense. During this registration process the assisting staff had a low tolerance for our inability to understand the various information screens!! The facility was top notch - rooms very nostalgic, springs were excellent, pool side service was excellent and overall would stay there again.

The lodge has instituted a new "kiosk" check-in system. It doesn't work well, and is extremely complicated, and another example of how businesses invent ways to save them money by costing you time and inconvenience. Also, the almost $100 in hidden fees is very offensive. I wouldn't stay there again.

Great staff, easy location, pretty and loved the hot tubs! Also nice having a restaurant in the property

Staff was very rude at checkin, told me if I didn’t like the way they do things I can hit the bricks. I decided to stay somewhere else and was very happy I did.

From the moment checking in to check-out, every interaction with every staff member was awesome. Super friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel was very clean, well kept and comfortable. Pools and hot tubs were relaxing and had amazing views. Loved how the hotel was off the main street in Ouray, so you didn't get the traffic, but we were still able to walk everywhere. My only "complaint" and it's not even that, is my wife is a vegetarian and there weren't many food options for her. But that seemed to be the case for most restaurants in town. You will not be disappointed staying here! We will definitely be back to Twin Peaks for our next trip to Ouray.

Absolutely charming property with everything you could ever need! Very convenient to everything you’d want to do in Ouray. The hot springs were nice, too! Would definitely stay here again!!

Great location very quiet I would stay again.

The place was mostly parking lot outside of the rooms. There wasn’t much mountain atmosphere or places to sit and be in the mountains. It was pretty much just parking lot out the door and crowded parking lot at that. Breakfast was good, but you had to eat in the restaurant. No food or coffee to go. Be warned, this is not a free breakfast in the hotel, this is a comped breakfast at the restaurant next to the hotel and you can’t even just sit and hang out with people in your family if you have gone earlier. Not can you take anything back to your room. If I were to visit Ouray again I would stay somewhere else for sure and just buy a day pass for the pool. And the room was hot. Air conditioner couldn’t quite cool it down.

The location and views are stunning. The many Hot spring pools provide privacy and fabulous surroundings. The buffet breakfast gave us plenty of yummy choices.

Great place to stay for the family. Easy access to the main city. Box canyon trail is right next to the hotel. Staff is professional especially the lady that checked us in during our stay here. Custodians cleaned our room daily. Highly recommended and will pick this place again next time we visit ouray. John from san Diego California here

Nice spot in the Rockies. Twin Peaks in Ouray is an older hotel that does things right. Check in is "automated" and after a long drive I did not expect that, once on the kiosk it was fine. The staff behind the counter could not have been nicer and helped as needed. The location is great, right at the entrance to Box Canyon, the rooms were very clean and well maintained. The hot springs area was also very well maintained and sitting in 104 degree water after a long day was very nice. They still have room service, the staff did a nice job with the room for our two night stay. Hotel has two sections, so the layout is not conventional, the parking it tight, especially with the number of large pickups or SUVs a place like this attrachs. We did eat at the attached resturant, the food was fine, the staff was very nice and provided great service. We did not eat at the breakfast buffet.

Great home base to explore hiking in Silverton, Telluride and Ouray! The breakfast buffet was amazing with lots of options and hot food, not just continental. The hot spring pools were a delight.

The hot springs and both pools were amazing, delicious buffet breakfast as well with plenty to choose from. And coffee or tea all day long. The pizza at their restaurant was delicious.

The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the pools felt so nice however they did have dirty covers on them that we pulled to the side. Also, I had a major migraine where I could barely walk and my friend went to get breakfast for me and was told she couldn’t take food to go so that was very upsetting.

Breakfast was good, but we only received a 10% discount on that… $74 for 2 adults and 3 kids. (Plus tip). Room was quaint, but definitely showing its age. Overall, the facility is kind of pricey for what you get. However, the scenery and environment is outstanding. The pool area is great. Overall we had a great time.
