The room was fantastic, I had a great view and the restaurant was phenomenal. Best cassoulet I’ve ever had! My only problem was the parking situation. It was convenient that they had parking, but it was a lot more expensive than I was told. I was told it would be $55 a night, so I was expecting a $165 bill. After tax and fees the total was $281, so I felt like that number was disingenuous. Plus add tips for valet, so I spent $321 for three days. I haven’t done the research to know if that’s a good price for the area, but I didn’t like that they weren’t up front about that and I got a surprise on my credit card after I left.

The hotel is nice, but it only has two elevators and no service elevator. Waiting on the elevator because it’s full was annoying. The rooftop is only available for events, maybe I missed that when booking. :-( The staff was very pleasant.

Gee, sounds great, doesn\'t it? Wish I could have been up there at some point during my stay. It isn\'t accessible unless staff lets you go there, and the hotel had rented it out 2 out of the 3 days I was there. Very deceptive advertising. Stay somewhere else where you can actually use the roof if that is at all important to you. So much for my kid getting a rooftop view of DC... which is a big piece of why we picked the property and why I gave 2 stars on the Property Condition rating. The rest of the property is fine but is not the Kimpton of old days - it used to feel special to stay in the Kimpton hotels. It doesn\'t anymore. It is just like another hotel these days.

Great hotel. I’m keen on having a clean room and this was that. All the corners of the room/ hard to get places were all clean. Liked the cold complimentary water in the lobby for refilling my bottle. Rooms have great sound proof, never heard my neighbors or hallway people. Location of the hotel is okay, it’s close the the D6X and D60 metro buses but most of the time you’ll have to do some extra walking to get to other destinations/ bus stops. Also not close to metro entrances.

Overall the property is clean, no frills, etc. However, the on-property roof top bar is not open to guests as advertised in the booking. Instead, it’s available to rent for events. Service at this location is sub-par. The first night I stayed, my room was not serviced and I had to ask for staff to service the room.

This was a beautiful building, filled with mediocre staff. When I arrived at 11 PM, I arrived to a room that had a failed refrigerator. I also didn’t have a working phone in the room with which to call the front desk. The food I traveled with was ruined, and my medicine hit room temperature. Not great. When I brought it to the attention of staff, they offered to let me use their refrigerator, but they did NOT repair the one in my room. I then had a booklet fall behind the air conditioning unit in the room. I asked the front desk staff to send maintenance up to fish it out. They did not. The only trash can in the room was in the bathroom, which is not great for a family of four. I would have liked one in the room itself. The shower was dirty. Here is the thing- the hotel was nice. I liked the bedding, and the big, easy to notice stuff was well done, but the details were lacking, and the staff was glad to say yes to your face, and then not do what they were asked to do. I was billed a $25 a day service fee, and for that price, I would have expected to receive some actual service from the staff.

Great hotel, great room... great everything... except room cleanly which occurred at just after 9 in the morning. Despite being informed we would Leanne the room for breakfast in just a few minutes they never returned to clean the room and make the beds. That, for this particular stay, ruined the stay.

This hotel provided a lovely, pristine, big room, a very comfortable bed with great linens and pillows, and a wonderful location for my trip to DC. The staff were especially wonderful, especially the staff person who greeted me in the evening when I checked in after 10pm because my flight was delayed. I really commend all the staff for their excellent service and attentiveness.

This hotel was amazing. It was very clean and smelled amazing, throughout. The location was perfect for walking to great restaurants and sites. It was also very close to the Metro station. I highly recommend!

This was an outstanding experience in every way with special commendation on all the staff. The only complaint, which I don't know if you can do anything about, was very low water pressure. I would highly recommend this hotel to my friends and associates.

Nice hotel with many dining options within walking distance (10-15 min). As the hotel valet parking is pretty expensive, we chose to park at Virginia and used Uber as our daily transportation. Worked perfect, no more trouble looking for expensive parkings in DC. One small issue was the water pressure was low.

The beds were very comfortable. Our room fronted on 16th street and even on 9th floor the traffic noise was noticeable. The lighting in the room is “ boutiquey” and didn’t always provide sufficient light to see. Large counter/desk was great space for our makeshift food prep area (breakfast) but mini fridge is small and there was no microwave.

One of the best hotel stays ever! Beautiful fresh, clean looking lobby. Room was spacious (not easy to find in DC) and comfortable. Great happy hour with free wine and specialty cocktail. Front desk staff were knowledgeable and efficient.

First, the staff were lovely, pleasant and professional. The hotel is centrally located. We had a room with a seating area dn the TV was in a strange place on the wall. There were only two towels in the bathroom. No problem when I called housekeeping for more, but we were there for two days, and the second day housekeeping only made the bed and took the dirty towels. No sweeping or vacuum, no taking dirty coffee cups. I had to call to ask for more towels. Not worth the $$ we spent.

I chose this hotel for its great location, spacious rooms, and 4-star rating — and while some expectations were met, the overall experience was disappointing. Check-in was delayed despite a confirmed Expedia reservation, and we were given rooms on different floors, contrary to what was promised. Throughout our four-day stay, we faced repeated issues: calls for basic amenities like tea bags and paper cups, used towels not being replaced, and long waits for any service. The ice machine on the 8th floor didn’t work, and we were never offered the complimentary wine coupons or restaurant discount. The rooftop restaurant, a big draw for us, was closed to guests and only open for private events. When asked, the front desk said it stays closed due to liability concerns — so why advertise it as a feature? The staff was kind and wanted to help, but clearly constrained. Overall, the series of small but persistent issues left a bad taste, and we’ll be booking elsewhere next time.

Hi. I was told at the property, upon check-in, they did not recognize Expedia vip benefits and i did not receive any of the benefits associated with vip platinum status. That is one of the reasons I chose the hotel and feel I was misled and this was misrepresented. Totally unacceptable.

This hotel provided a lovely, pristine, big room, a very comfortable bed with great linens and pillows, and a wonderful location for my trip to DC. The staff were especially wonderful, especially the staff person who greeted me in the evening when I checked in after 10pm because my flight was delayed. I really commend all the staff for their excellent service and attentiveness.

Great hotel. I’m keen on having a clean room and this was that. All the corners of the room/ hard to get places were all clean. Liked the cold complimentary water in the lobby for refilling my bottle. Rooms have great sound proof, never heard my neighbors or hallway people. Location of the hotel is okay, it’s close the the D6X and D60 metro buses but most of the time you’ll have to do some extra walking to get to other destinations/ bus stops. Also not close to metro entrances.

We stayed at the Kimpton for 4 nights during a family trip with our 8 year old to D.C. The hotel was clean, staff very friendly and the room was very large and great for a group. The room was not small with a large countertop, extra mirror and closet space and plenty of floor room to lay out all of our suitcases and not feel cramped in the room. Bathroom was very nice as well. We used the valet for 1 night which was expensive but as expected and quick service. The only downside was I had wished it was closer to a metro stop in the heat we visited during in July we ended up taking a lot more ubers than I planned due to walking distances but in cooler weather the walks would have been more enjoyable. Would stay here again if I'm back in D.C.

Only complaint being nothing the Hotel can control and that is the sound outside. But if you ignore all that it’s a great place to stay. The location was really unbeatable. Close to Dupont and Logan Circles, but just far enough not to hear all the traffic and hustle and bustle. People were friendly and room was very nice. I would stay there again.

The location was great, but the room esthetics were poor. Room was very dark with poor lighting and the pillows were poor. The lobby had zero thrills. Beautiful hotel, spacious rooms. The staff were amazing especially when my husband needed emergency dental treatment, they went above and beyond to help us. The food at Le Sel was delicious both breakfast and dinner and the nightly wine hour is fab! Would definitely stay again!

Very nice stay. Restaurant was terrific. Gym was OK but not great but it got the job done. The room TV didn’t work - could’ve been something as simple as bad batteries in the remote but I didn’t bother contacting the front desk so I just let it go. Great location!
