The high cost of valet parking would be a deterrent to returning. The restaurant menu was extremely limited. On the positive side, staff was very courteous and accommodating.

Since my family and I planned to be in DC for the 4th of July fireworks, we wanted to make sure we could park in the Westin garage a bit ahead of our stay there. We called the hotel and were told that it was fine but that it was all valet parking. We were a little confused by that since it specifically states on the hotel website that you had the option of self parking or valet. We didn’t question it and checked into the hotel and used their valet parking as there didn’t seem to be any other option. Upon leaving we asked the staff at the front desk if there was an option to self park and they said absolutely yes. They were surprised that someone told us that valet was the only option. Other than that snafu, the hotel was nice and everyone was friendly. Would have given 5 stars if not for the parking situation.

Lots of construction noise in/around the lobby/bar/restaurant during the day. Room was decent, quiet, clean. Found out about construction and temporarily re-located fitness center AFTER booking, which was disappointing.

Would definitely stay here again. Rooms were newly remodeled and were fabulous. Most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. I felt like I was sleeping in my own bed at home. Location is as absolutely perfect. Short walks to two Metro location. Walk is easy to the National Mall. Parking garage was a little tricky at first, but once you figured it out is wasn’t bad. Walking to the parking garage was the trickiest part because the hotel remodeling The only complaint is that they charge for Wi-Fi. This should be included in your stay.

Hotel was nice and clean. My only issue was that when I booked I added a charge for valet service but was charged again at the hotel valet service area. It was close to $80 for just one night.

The rooms were nice and comfortable and we were in walking distance of everything we wanted to see. There was renovations going on that we weren’t aware of until a week before our trip so the fitness center was closed and the main entrance was closed. The water in the shower and sink smelled like potting soil. I assumed it was a DC thing but I didn’t notice that when I used the sinks at other establishments to wash my hands.

Never in my life have I been so decimated by bug bites. I went to bed around midnight and woke up two hours later with bites all over my arms, legs and chest. The hotel transferred me to another room in the middle of the night (around 3 am). Later they said they'd do an inspection. They concluded that there were no signs of bug bites and offended no compensation. However, visits to multiple doctors and dermatologist have other opinions. I was in pain for about a week before taking various steroids and medicines. Now I am dealing with body scars from the bite attacks.

Very appealing to the senses upon walking in. Staff greeted us promptly and got our bags out of the vehicle. The lobby was buzzing with guest at the restaurant and bar. Only issue we had during the stay was the cleanliness of the room upon arrival. They offered to switch rooms but we decided not to.

The lobby is gorgeous, restaurants were so good, the staff were decently nice. BUT the rooms are small, no one came to clean our room or restock towels. The floors were gross and we really needed them swept or vacuumed. The doors are SO thin, could hear CLEARLY other guests conversations while walking to their room all hours of the nights. The beds are not that comfortable.

The staff was excellent at check in, and even overall the entire stay.. HOWEVER... cleanliness..? No. The floors were gross at check (hotel room), not vacuumed or mopped. The tables in the room also had crumbs all over it. The bed was comfortable.. and the location was close walking distance. Other then that... it's okay.

Lack of housekeeping service

Had no idea it was Under renovation till 30 hours beforehand. No amenities available, some so called bar and restaurant in the middle of a construction zone, room was dirty, floor had hairballs in corners and used contact linens stuck on table ..hotel had water breaks in the lobby severl times...I would of never picked a hotel under renovation

Very clean. Amazing staff! Would definitely recommend this facility.

Extremely clean and modern , superb stay.

The rooms were well appointed. The staff was excellent. The air conditioning was not up to par. Even with the thermostat at it lowest the temperature in the room was extremely warm before the a/c would kick in again.

Very clean and I love the heavenly bed. The bed and comforter are worth choosing this hotel, the kind and over and above service are the cherry on top!

I wasn't aware of the ongoing construction at the hotel until I received an email after I booked. I wasn't immediately affected by noise or other impacts, although the lobby is a bit of a mess and the overall experience was diminished, given the price. The staff were *extremely* friendly and welcoming (e.g. handing out water and cookies to folks waiting in long lines to check in) -- they were the best part of the stay. We were in one of the renovated rooms, and while it was quite attractive and stylish, there were some things that weren't thought through. One thing in particular was that removing carpeting and having tile and laminate flooring instead results in a loss of sound absorption -- could hear low TV, talking, toilet seat closing, etc. late night and the (very early) alarm clock the next morning from neighboring room (possibly in combination with thin walls). I'm not typically a light sleeper so this was annoying. There was also a significant gap under the door that let in a surprising amount of light from the hallway into the room at night, which I eventually blocked with a towel (so if you prefer a very quiet and dark room, be warned).

Great location in downtown DC! Friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable room. Highlights were luxurious bed duvet, no fan blowing on bed, and windows that open for fresh air!

Uncomfortable bed , the TV turns off on its own every 30 minutes or so. The toilet made loud noises. Parking was very complex, expensive and a headache. We could not change the room temp below a certain temperature which wasn’t good for my health condition. No free WIFI

The toilet did not work properly so I had to call engineering soon after I checked in at 10:30 PM. The guy fixed the temporarily but I spent the next 36 hours having a lift a tank can do the same thing he did to get the toilet to fill. This is not good. Additionally, the light above the bed frame, which was the main light for the room was working like a strobe light instead of being continuously on, and did not shut off until I had to unplug it from the wall. I told the front desk about this in the morning and they said they would move me that afternoon, but no one ever called to move me. So I ended up staying in that room. Service and attentiveness to detail are missing.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! We were in town for a concert the day of our check in. Check in is 4pm. We did not get into our room until after 7pm! Our concert was at 7:30! We were told the hotel was sold out and housekeeping couldn’t keep up. Checked online and rooms available they were not sold out. When we did finally get to our room the bathroom sink sprays all over the place when you turn it on. We were also told that our room was upgraded as a form of compensation for waiting so long. When we got to the room 2 queen bed room which is exactly what we paid for. NO UPGRADE. They also charged us a resort fee for a room we didn’t even get to get into. I could understand a few minutes, maybe even an hour but 3 hours is unacceptable especially when we needed to get ready for a concert. They had no compassion or concern for the situation either. We will NEVER stay at a Westin, Marriott etc! I will be contacting the BBB also.

Our stay was above average. The best part of the stay was the staff. Each and every staff member greeted us and were very attentive to all of our needs that were met. Great job and we will see you soon.

The staff at check-in were accomodating and helpful. Even though they were incredibly busy and trying to complete night tasks, they remained professional and assisted everyone the best they could. We were so happy with our stay.

Great customer service!

This hotel has a great location, it is walking distance to Capital One Arena. We stayed the same night as a concert at the arena and the hotel was overwhelmed. Rooms were not ready for check-in at 4pm, there were long lines at check-in and valet. The hotel charges a $30/night destination fee and in return you get a food and beverage credit at their restaurant and some water in your room. It just feels likely a tacky game, raise the nightly rate and don't add silly fees. Rooms were clean, but the hallways were loud and sound was not well insulated.

The man who checked us in was very nice and was even able to get us in our room four hours prior to our check in time!

The Westin was beautifully done inside. All staff from from desk to food service to security were friendly and professional. Absolutely the best customer service. I will stay again

Excellent staff that sorted out everything we needed

The Westin is a great hotel in Downtown DC. Close to many restaurants and shopping. The Metro was within walking distance so you could easily navigate and tour different sites on DC.

The staff was very welcoming. The area is very walkable and in a perfect location to all of the museums.

I booked one night at this hotel through hotel.com and paid for breakfast in advance. Nobody at the hotel seemed to have any record of this so they tried to charge me for a full breakfast (which came up to $60 for 2). I had to talk to 3 different people before I actually got the issue resolved. Breakfast seemed to be a big ordeal for many of the guests that morning. The whole process was very confusing and many of them got charged extra because the hotel did not make it clear what was included in the continental breakfast ($17) and what was included in the regular breakfast ($28). This was not a regular buffet style it was served cafeteria style where you walked down the line and they put the food on your plate. Do yourself a favor and don't have breakfast or any extras here. It's not worth the money. The hotel property and the room was clean, comfortable and well maintained but I have stayed at less expensive places in the area and had a much better experience. P.S don't drink the water from the water bottles provided in your room. They make it sound like its free and you can take it with you but if you read the label it says you will be charged $15 for consuming it.

The room service in the hotel was terrible. The food was like take out and not very good. The free included breakfast was cold when we received it and also not very good. It’s not what we expect when we stay at a Westin. The best thing about the hotel was the bed, which is always a guarantee when you stay at a Westin. Overall we were disappointed.

Great experience except they charge 30 dollars a day and tell you that you can use it at the bar or restaurant. Terrible menu and the drinks were 20 dollars per drink. We are elsewhere.

Sadly I was not happy with my stay at the Westin. We paid a premium for the room and while I understand it was busy in DC with the Cherry Blossoms and Spring Break, the experience was below par. We had to wait every single time for breakfast or dinner and I don’t think they were equipped or staffed to deal with the large number of guests. All the staff were great,

Everything was great except the bar. They give you complementary drinks but can’t handle the crowd. On the last night, we sat in the bar area for 40 minutes and no one even came to say hello.

Very nice convention hotel. Busy place but easy access to Mall, arena and multiple sights. Only issue encountered was long line and wait to order breakfast. Pretty inefficient….
