The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the location is centrally located and convenient. No complaints about that. However, if you need to use the business center for printing, note that the printer will likely not be working. Fortunately, the front desk printed out my documents with no complaint. While very helpful and greatly appreciated, it was a nuisance that the printer was broken. This seems to be a common problem at most hotels. Otherwise, the stay would have been perfect.

The Washington Plaza is an older property, but it’s exceptionally well maintained and spotlessly clean. The pool was a real standout—especially rare for the DC Metro area—and made for a relaxing break after sightseeing. The location couldn’t be better: just a short, easy walk to the White House and other major attractions. Plenty of great bars and restaurants are close by, so it’s easy to enjoy the city without needing a car.

Ended up requesting new room due to live roach crawling upon awakening. Staff was very apologetic and responded quickly and professionally, moved me to another room and added complimentary breakfast for the rest of my stay. Greatly appreciated the effort but ended up killing another crawling bug in my new room the next day.

Even though I do feel the hotel is a bit dated in style. It’s very functional and the rooms were impressively clean. Every single thing was wiped down the towels were fluffy and clean. The beds were great the rooms didn’t have a weird smell. Everything was perfect I was impressed on the level of cleanliness. The resturant food was ok it gave low end diner food as far as taste and quality but very gray staff. Parking is easy and not complicated. Overall loved my stay. No real complaints.

Really appreciated the extra touches offered by the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering assistance at every turn. We are an older couple who had never used Uber. They instructed us on how to use the App and gave us confidence that it was safe and reliable. The hotel itself was attractive, modern, spotless, and conveniently located. The hotel did not live up to all the reviews it was given. The parking garage does not fit SUV’s which we were not told and learned as we drove into the underground parking. The room was incredibly small and smelled musty. The bathroom shower had mold. The room was outdated even though the reviews stated it was recently redone.

The staff especially everyone at the front desk were super professional and very sweet. I wish they had room service though but they probably don't have enough staff to handle that level of demand. It looked nice online, we liked that it had a pool. The lobby was small but looked “ boutique “ like but the rooms were so dated. Small / older TVs , brown carpet and the bathrooms were so dated with Formica counters and leaky faucet. The worst part though was finding a mouse trap ( with molded cheese!) under the bed!!!! We called to the front desk and inquired and they said “ all the rooms have them for safety” - we left! Expedia did work with us to refund our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Great central location for everything. However, despite lobby investment, rooms all very outdated and in much need of refurbishment. 3 issues in our room with faulty plumbing, tap nearly coming off wall when putting shower on and a light that kept flickering and dimming all the time. Had to report 3 times before any attempt to sort. We had been upgraded to pool facing room with balcony. However, this was a very noisy room due to nearby roundabout and little sleep was had. We requested to be moved, if possible to a king size bed, and were advised a message would be passed onto the afternoon shift where they would have a better idea re bedrooms. They apologised and said guest experience and comfort was foremost in customer service. We never heard anything else about the move! On the whole, reception staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a decent meal in the hotel bar the first night, which wasn't overly expensive, and the hotel was OK. However, I doubt I would stay there again if I ever returned.

Upon arrival, the hotel looked beautiful. Pulling into the property, the outside and the lobby were very nice, and I was excited to stay here. Unfortunately, my experience went downhill after check-in. when I first arrived early in the morning around 12 a.m., I parked in the garage and found the entrance to the hotel from there to be a little sketchy and poorly lit — it honestly made me feel uneasy walking in. I stayed here with a friend — we booked the exact same room type but received completely different setups. My room was larger with a bigger bed and TV, while hers was noticeably smaller. Despite the size difference, my TV didn’t work at all. I couldn’t operate it properly, and it never got fixed during my stay. The biggest issue was with housekeeping. Even though I had my Do Not Disturb sign up the first night, I was woken up at 9 a.m. by housekeeping knocking on my door. The next day, despite the sign still being on my door, housekeeping entered my room while I was in the bathroom and started cleaning while I was still inside. This was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. While the staff was polite and the pool was nice, the privacy issues and room inconsistencies were unacceptable — especially for the price I paid. I left feeling disappointed and wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re strictly looking for a budget option

On the good side, the hotel itself is near within walking distant of dc metro's McPherson Square, downtown DC and The Whtie House it was such a great convenance to around the city. On the bad side the staff seem a little unfriendly and area has a few homeless people made me a little concerned, I would say is a good place for a one or two nights just to be near the landmarks.

The rooms were comfortable. I have stayed at 1000's of rooms nationwide. I did not like how the front desk treats their guest. One tried to act like I did not know how to use the elevator. I got trapped in the garage and they charge 50.00 a day for parking which is a inconvenience. The chargers do not work at this location. Just expect to pay extra for stuff you think should be a convenience.

We loved the pool with the city pool. The service overall wasn’t great with the only exception of the FD lady who attended us during the check in. The restaurant service wasn’t good, as well as the pool service. To finalize our experience, we woke up at 6 am for a fire alarm that was on for around 20 min, because of this we couldn’t go back to sleep. When we expressed our concern at the check out, they didn’t do anything to make up, not even apologize. You go to a hotel to rest, and paid a decent amount for this, not to wake with a fire alarm that makes you feel unsafe and be Ok with that.

Great Location, Comfy Rooms… But Breakfast Straight Out of Fawlty Towers ⭐⭐⭐ Pros: • Perfect location — 15–20 minutes’ walk from the White House. • Reception staff couldn’t have been more helpful. They moved me to a much better room after my first night (chlorine smell + noisy generator = no sleep!). The replacement was pool-facing, spacious, spotless, and had a very comfy bed. Cons: • Breakfast. Oh dear. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. • No buffet — just three rigid menu options, served by a lone waiter who also seemed to be the chef. • Honestly felt like a scene from Fawlty Towers. • Restaurant doesn’t feel part of the hotel (possibly franchised), with zero atmosphere. • No nearby cafés, shops, or alternative breakfast spots, so you’re stuck with it. Excellent location close to everything, buses, metro stations, bike rentals all the Nation’s Capital landmark’s. The hotel meet all my expectations the staff was friendly and professional the hotel was extremely clean and comfortable their hotel restaurant was excellent the food was excellent from their breakfast and dinner menu outstanding service . The best part I enjoyed was the coffee the best coffee I had while in there, overall I will stay here again and highly recommend it

Everyone was very nice welcoming and friendly except for the restaurant not everyone there is friendly. Some of them are rude. We were having breakfast and asked for some cream, and the guy took the cream from another table that somebody else just finished eating. Don’t go to the restaurant. The outside restaurants are better.

We had a wonderful stay at the Washington Plaza Hotel! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was fantastic—right on Thomas Circle and close to everything. McPherson Square Metro station was only a few blocks away, and CVS was just one block away. We loved the pool! It was so refreshing after a long day of sightseeing, and we got a chuckle out of having a lifeguard on duty. The restaurant food was great, our room was very clean, and our view overlooked Thomas Circle. The bathroom was also roomy enough for two people to comfortably get ready at the same time. Another big plus was that after checkout, they stored our luggage until later that afternoon. This allowed us to enjoy one last morning of sightseeing before heading to the airport. Overall, a clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff and an excellent location. We would definitely stay here again!
